LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The North Las Vegas Police Department is giving the final update on what it believes at this time to be the events surrounding the shootings that leftfive people dead and a 13-year-old girl critically injured on June 24.

Through their investigation, NLVPD homicide detectives learned that the suspect, Eric Adams, was visiting his 45-year-old ex-girlfriend in a ground-floor apartment at 370 Casa Norte Drive.

The two got into a domestic-related argument, during which Adams armed himself with a gun and shot two other women in the apartment, the ex-girlfriend’s 24-year-old daughter and the daughter’s 22-year-old girlfriend.

An upstairs neighbor, a 20-year-old man who knew the women in the ground-floor apartment, overheard the argument and went downstairs to see if he could intervene and help the women.

For unknown reasons, Adams shot the man inside the downstairs apartment.

The man’s 59-year-old grandmother, 40-year-old mother, and 13-year-old sister remained in the apartment upstairs.

The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified four of the victims as Amy Damian, 40; Damiana Moreno, 59; Kayla Harris, 24; and Jeannette Faria-Webster, 22.

Family members identified the fifth person killed as Christopher Damian, 20, and the 13-year-old critically injured as Olivia Damian.

After shooting the man, Adams went into the upstairs apartment, confronting and shooting those three family members. Adams was unaware there were two additional people out of sight in the upstairs apartment and they were not harmed. The two unharmed people were later identified as additional family members, both in their late teens.

For unknown reasons, Adams then took his ex-girlfriend hostage and drove away from the scene. During the early hours of June 25, the ex-girlfriend was able to escape Adams unharmed and approached a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Bolden Area Command patrol officer who was on an unrelated traffic stop. She provided the officer with details of what transpired at the apartment complex.

Just after 10 a.m., on Tuesday, detectives from the North Las Vegas Police Department and officers from the Criminal Apprehension Team, received information that Adams was at a business in the 1500 block of E. Lake Mead Boulevard.

Criminal Apprehension Team officers immediately responded to that area and located Adams in the 1600 block of Dwayne Stedman Avenue. Adams was armed with a firearm and fled into the backyard of a residence at that location.

Officers began giving Adams verbal commands to drop the firearm, however, Adams ignored those commands and died by suicide.

The surviving victims and their families are being assisted by the North Las Vegas Police Department, victim advocates, and detectives, to help them through this difficult time.

This continues to be an ongoing investigation and no further information will be released.
