A sadistic man who beat two of his own infant children to death is now reportedly awaiting breast implants while at a women’s prison in California. Jessica Marie Hann, born Jason Michael Hann, began identifying as a woman in 2019.

Hann was first arrested after the remains of his 10-week-old daughter, Montana, were discovered stuffed in a tupperware container in Arkansas. The little girl’s body was found in an advanced state of decomposition and had been abandoned onboard an RV trailer once owned by Hann after the vehicle had been repossessed and sent to auction. The buyer of the RV discovered the body in February of 2002, and called police.

Montana’s corpse had been in the plastic tub for approximately one year before she was found, and it was later determined that the baby had died of a fractured skull.

Because Hann’s name had once been registered to the trailer, police were quickly able to connect him to the corpse. A multi-state manhunt was launched, and Hann was found living at a motel in Maine with his then-partner, Krissy Werntz. Hann and Werntz were arrested in April of that same year.

When found, Hann and Werntz were in custody of a one-year-old child who was reportedly on the brink of death. The infant had a number of severe physical injuries, including a dozen broken ribs, retinal hemorrhaging, bleeding under the skin, and internal damage. The child was immediately placed into protective custody and given appropriate medical treatment.

During the course of the subsequent investigation, authorities linked Hann to a storage locker in Arkansas, one they had local police search. A second corpse was then discovered, one belonging to a 6-week-old son Hann was found to have murdered by head trauma in 1999.

It would later be learned that Hann had kept and travelled with both of the corpses before finally storing them.

In February of 2006, Hann was sentenced to 27 to 30 years in prison in the case of his son’s death, with his daughter’s murder being tried separately. In 2013, he would be handed the death penalty.

Werntz, the mother of the infants, was sentenced to 15 years to life for the death of her daughter but avoided any charges in the death of her son. During her trial, it was learned that Werntz had been under significant duress during the relationship, and that Hann had threatened to murder her if she went to police.

Hann was initially held on death row at San Quentin, a men’s prison, while Werntz was sent to the Central California Women’s Facility (CCWF).

In 2019, Hann began to identify as a woman, and was transferred within one year to death row at CCWF. But after California Governor Gavin Newson signed an executive order suspending the death penalty in the state and mandating a stay on execution for all inmates on death row, Hann was allowed to move into the women’s general population after a cursory observation period.

Fearing for her life, Werntz filed for an emergency transfer out of the institution and was granted a change in placement to the California Women’s Facility just days before Hann was turned loose.

But now, Hann is reportedly awaiting a taxpayer-subsidized breast augmentation.

Speaking to Reduxx on the case, incarcerated women’s advocate Amie Ichikawa alleges Hann was quietly moved into the medical unit at CCWF earlier this year.

Ichikawa, founder of campaign group WomanIIWoman, has been a vocal critic of gender self-identification policy in prison placement since Governor Newsom signed SB-132 into law in 2021. SB-132, The Transgender Respect, Agency and Dignity Act, formally established the right of inmates to be housed on the basis of gender identity.

Since the Act went into effect, 357 male inmates have requested transfer to a women’s prison. According to Keep Prisons Single Sex USA, they had previously learned that 33.8% of the men seeking transfer to the female estate are known to be registered sex offenders.

“Incarcerated women have been overlooked and forcibly made to be the losers of every political game possible when legislators need to dump a problem or sweep something under the rug out of the public’s eye,” Ichikawa says.

“Women in prison are now in an environment completely void of the opportunity to rehabilitate. They are in a state of constant hyper-vigilance and the long term affects have resulted in mass CPTSD symptoms,” she explains. “They are quietly watching themselves being erased while men, who have penises, get facial feminization surgeries, laser hair removal, Adams apple reductions… all paid for with your tax dollars.”

Ichikawa notes that her sources in the facility have been unable to determine if Hann is still intact, or is just seeking to alter his body with the breast implants.

“No one in prison or in the free world has ever died from having a healthy penis or vagina so these costly procedures are in no way life saving,” she says, explaining that male transfers are being offered cosmetic procedures while the female inmates are being denied basic healthcare.

“[These procedures] are additionally humiliating to women who have lost their teeth from the arsenic and the hexavalent chromium in the water supplies, whose skin and hair are rough and dull from the same toxins, and who are denied breast reductions and told the procedure is cosmetic,” Ichikawa continues.

“The things that go on when the doors lock and the lights go out are unspeakable and most of these women are so ashamed they may never be in a mental state to share these government-funded atrocities.”

California has one of the most liberal gender self-identification policies in the country, something that has become a point of contention for women’s rights advocates.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has previously confirmed to Reduxx that prison transfer requests are based entirely off of a Gender Identity Questionnaire that could be issued during reception or requested by the inmate at any time during their incarceration.

The Questionnaire is a form with a short series of questions in which inmates can declare their pronouns, honorifics, and gender identity. Male inmates do not need to identify as transgender to request transfer, and can simply identify gender non-conforming, or non-binary.

As previously reported by Reduxx, a pedophile convicted of molesting a 4-year-old girl had been moved to the California Institution for Women despite having been denied a gender and name change, and still legally being a male.

Incarcerated women in California who criticize the gender self-identification policy or complain about the conduct of male transfers have claimed they were subjected to “punishment” for speaking out. Speaking to Reduxx last year, inmate Sagal Sadiq described that an attempt to report a 6′ tall male inmate to prison authorities for sexual harassment resulted in Sadiq being placed in solitary confinement for an extended period of time.
Beyond Evil True-Crime published April 4, 2021: Death-row inmate Jason Hann killed 2 infants now wants Calif to pay for gender reassignment. Jason Michael Hann was convicted of murdering his 6 week-old Son and 10-week old daughter. He was also charged with child endangerment of his third child just 4 weeks old. Krissy Lynn Werntz is the mother and long-time girlfriend of Jason Hann. She was convicted of the murder of her 10 week-old daughter Montana. Jason entered a no-contest plea to 2nd-degree murder for his firstborn son Jason Jr. he was sentenced to 27 to 30 years in prison in Vermont on March 1st, 2006.

Original story as follows:

A man described by a prosecutor as a "serial baby killer" who inflicted fatal injuries on his 10-week-old daughter in Desert Hot Springs less than two years after another of his infant children met a similar fate may to be sentenced to death Friday.

Jurors who convicted 39-year-old Jason Michael Hann in December also recommended he be executed for killing his daughter, Montana, in February 2001.

Riverside Superior Court Judge James S. Hawkins will decide Friday whether to uphold their recommendation or sentence Hann to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Hann was convicted of first-degree murder and assault on a child causing great bodily injury, along with a special circumstance allegation of having a previous murder conviction.

Krissy Lynn Werntz, the baby's 34-year-old mother and Hann's then- girlfriend, is also charged with murder and has a March 17 trial date.

Prosecutors said Hann struck Montana in the head, inflicting fatal skull fractures. He wrapped her head in duct tape and her body in trash bags and placed her in a Tupperware container, which was then put in another trash bag and kept inside a trailer for a year at an Arkansas storage unit.

When Hann and Werntz stopped making payments, the trailer was auctioned off to an Arkansas man, who discovered the bag in February 2002, Deputy District Attorney Lisa DiMaria said. Hann and Werntz were taken into custody in April 2002 at a motel in Portland, Maine.

The day after they were arrested, police found the remains of another of their children, a boy less than 2 months old, in a plastic container inside a storage unit in Arizona. That baby, named Jason, had been killed in July 1999 in Vermont.

In February 2006 in Vermont, Hann entered a no-contest plea to second- degree murder in the baby's death and was sentenced to 27 to 30 years in prison. Werntz wasn't charged in that case.

Authorities investigating the couple determined that their third child, a month-old boy named Michael, had skull, femur and rib fractures and was on the "brink of death" when he was found, DiMaria told jurors. That boy was later adopted and renamed.

While being questioned, Hann told police that Montana had died in Desert Hot Springs. The baby was born in Arizona on Dec. 1, 2000, and the family moved from Vermont to California about a month later and was staying in a motor home in Desert Hot Springs at the time she died.

Hann was in prison for the death of his son, Jason, when officials in Vermont agreed to extradite him to California to stand trial for Montana's death. He and Werntz were indicted by a grand jury in September 2009.

Hann's attorney, Brenda Miller, said during the trial that her client suffered from bipolar disorder, and his emotions "came to a peak with (the baby's) continual crying, resulting in the death of infant Montana."

She said he told a detective that he struck the baby on the side of the head, saying, "I just flipped out, something just comes over me."
So let the taxpayers pay for him to have a sex change operation and be housed with biological female prisoners. I'm being sarcastic. As if that money could not be spent on better things such as food and housing for the needy. (emphasis mine)
