When Target approached the brand Abprallen to design clothing for its 2023 “PRIDE” collection, the retail giant was fully aware of the brand’s Satanist-inspired merchandise, according to a statement posted on Instagram by the designer.

Target initially sold three Abprallen products: a messenger bag saying “We Belong Everywhere” across trans-flag colors and planets, a tote bag with the message “Too Queer for Here” beneath a UFO, and a “Cure Transphobia, Not Trans People” sweatshirt. The three items are no longer for sale online.

Other Abprallen products, which were not sold at Target, included Satanist imagery and glorified violence against alleged “transphobes.”

“When I was approached to create products for Target they told me that my work such as ‘Satan Respects Pronouns’ wouldn’t be a good fit, they were observant enough and had the necessary critical thinking skills to realise that my use of occult imagery is as harmless as any horror movie targeted towards adults but wanted my collection for adults to be a bit less gothic,” Abprallen’s designer, a self-described “gay trans man” who goes by “Erik,” wrote in a series of Instagram Stories.

Target did not respond to National Review’s request for comment to confirm the brand’s characterization of the events.

Abprallen sells shirts, pins, and stickers with the design of a pastel goat head and the message “Satan Respects Pronouns.” The company also sells clothing that include the the phrases “We Bash Back” with a heart-shaped mace in the trans-flag colors, “Transphobe Collector” with a skull, and “Homophobe Headrest” with skulls beside a pastel guillotine.

Erik called Satan “cool” but denied any affiliation with Satanism.

“I am, believe it or not, not a Satanist. I lack the drive or desire to be a part of any religion—theistic or otherwise,” the brand posted. “I don’t believe in Satan (not [sic] do Satanists, actually) but I do think Satan, pentagrams, skulls, ghosts, and the occult are cool and interesting and I’ve been obsessed with horror movies and books since I was knee-high to a grasshopper.”

“Satan isn’t real, and because he isn’t real I can mould and shape him to fit my art, I can use him as a metaphor for the very few items I carry depicting him. It’s camp, it’s fun, it’s metal af. But it’s a fairy tale,” Erik added.

Conservatives have encouraged boycotting Target in response to the retail giant’s pride-themed merchandise, a line that features swimwear which has a “light binding effect” on breasts and “tuck-friendly construction” for male genitalia. Target has instructed some store managers to remove pride-theme merchandise from mannequins and relocate the items toward the back of the stores.

“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and wellbeing while at work,” Target said in a statement. “Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior.”

California governor Gavin Newsom condemned Target for downplaying its commitment to LGBT pride, accusing the retailer of participating in a “systematic attack on the gay community”.

Part of the new “PRIDE” collection introduced by Target includes clothing made by a UK-based brand whose designer has expressed satanist views, according to a report.

Abprallen, a London-based company which is headed by a transgender man known as “Erik,” has reportedly been collaborating with Target for about a year, according to The Washington Examiner.

Abprallen sells apparel that includes satanic imagery including pentagrams, horned skulls, and references to the devil.

One design found on the apparel maker’s T-shirts and pins has the message: “Satan respects pronouns.”

Last year, Erik wrote on the brand’s Instagram page: “Being called a demon is something I can cope with, and the idea of a trans demon is pretty damn cool, most of my work focusses [sic] on gothic or dark and satanic imagery juxtaposed with bright colours and LGBT+ positive messages.”

The Post has sought comment from Abprallen and Target.

for people to claim they are all about love and inclusion, they sure know how to show a lot of hatred to a large percentage of Americans. They demand respect but don't bother showing others respect. Instead they go out of their way to offend those people they hate with a passion.

I'm done with the Dodgers That group they apologized to and welcomed are Satanists whose entire gimmick is mocking Jesus and Christianity. Pure anti-Christ performances and wardrobe. The Dodgers gave Christians, who by the way most likely make up the majority of their fanbase, a huge middle finger and they want us to be okay with that. I've been a fan since the 1970s when my mom used to take me to the games regularly as a child. That was one of our favorite things we used to look forward to going together.

This group is a hate group no different than the Westboro Baptist Church.

My reply: what does that matter? This is what this group represents. They are Satanists who obviously hate Christians. What if they invited a Nazis "nonprofit" organization who pretended to be a loving and caring group helping the community. (emphasis mine)

This is bullshit by the way. Just like the AIDS Foundation claimed to be helping gay men dying from AIDS and they only 1-3% of donations is used towards helping those in need while raking in millions of dollars in donations every year. Where did all that money go? Well they claim it was to cover marketing AIDS awareness, political campaigns and lobbying, and other overhead expenses like their lavish salaries. (emphasis mine)

According to USA Today 4/28/23: What do the colors of the Transgender Pride Flag mean? The Transgender Pride Flag has five stripes with alternating colors. A single white stripe is surrounded on the top and bottom by two light blue and light pink stripes. The blue and pink colors are the traditional colors for boys and girls, while the white stripe represents transitioning, intersex or gender-neutral identities. The flag’s symmetry is important as well – according to flag creator Monica Helms, “the pattern is such that no matter which way you fly it, it is always correct, signifying us finding correctness in our lives.”
For those of you who don't know, there are two colors included in the trans flag that was added to the LGBT flag that represents "pedosexuals" those who are boy lovers and girl lovers. (emphasis mine)
