New Moon is Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 4:14 Mountain Standard Time.
We start 2014 off with a powerful New Moon that is perfect for anchoring your intentions and setting goals for the next year. This is a super moon that harnesses the Warrior year with a good blast of focus and the inspiration to make a healthy "to do" list. Beware of irritation, conflict and reactions of others. There is a potential for arguments, accidents and emotional eruptions. This is all part of the energetic tension that can actually be focused into productivity if you are aware of it. So you decide which way it will go.
We also recommend setting some boundaries around with whom and where you spend your time during this New Year and New Moon time. Don't waste it on trying to please others or getting embroiled in something that does not serve you. Instead use this opportunity to launch your year in the best way possible. January is about getting all your ducks in a row and being in readiness for whatever is coming down the pike. If you feel scattered and chaotic and don't really know what to do with yourself, clean something out like your refrigerator or your closet or some preciously neglected part of your home or office space.
The end of one year and the beginning of another is always a good time to clear and make space for something new. Be inspired by all the possibilities this year will bring! Inspire yourself with beauty and find joy in the simple things that you love and enjoy! Be in gratitude!

New Moon
Sun and Moon in Capricorn ~ 11º

An unusual New Moon, and a SuperMoon at that, on New Year's night just after midnight for many.
What a perfect time to set your intentions for the coming cycle. Any New Moon potentizes our intentions as we align them with the thrusting forward of new unfolding and growing energy, but aligned with the cultural significance to many of the calendar year, we have a strong force for laying out to the elemental universe our desires and needs for the coming year.
The domain of earthy Capricorn is manifesting the basic structures that support the whole organism – the bones for the body, and the structures of business, government and finance for society. Capricorn's ruler, Saturn, tends to make them practical, methodical, organized, hard-working and able to follow through and complete what they start. They bring discipline, determination, tradition, and quality to the table, but also calcification and a clinging to what has gone before. Because Pluto, planet of transformation, is spending so many years 2008-2024 in Capricorn, we are having to deeply look at the dysfunction and dark side of our government and business practices. The transformational restructuring, though painful because it is so entrenched, will eventually reinvigorate our societal structures.
The Sun and Moon in Capricorn join Pluto and Mercury helping us to clear our mental bodies and be ruthlessly truthful about where we are in our lives. Capricorn will support us in taking action on what we want/need to change.
Massive tension exists from Mars creating a T-Square with Pluto and Uranus. Mars directly opposing Uranus=a clear source of conflict, sudden and direct. Pluto squaring both Uranus and Mars=anything long held may burst forth for resolution. This will be an on-going configuration coming and going through April.
Saving grace is a formation called a Mystic Rectangle focused on the Sun, Moon, Pluto, Mercury group. Not actually so mystical, but very strong in bringing divine energy to bear in the practical world. Composed of trines and sextiles, the aspects of ease and opportunity, there is a subtle frequency available to anyone who can get practical and focus their creativity on what they want to manifest in the material world. Tune into your heart and use your emotional body to send out to Spirit your embodied gratitude for all your many blessings and share your intention for what would help you manifest joy in your life and on the planet. Pallas Athena, goddess of Creative Intelligence, Jupiter, god of Expansion and Vision, and Chiron, Centaur bridging the material and the divine are working actively with the Sun and Moon. There's always help along the way.
