10 Inspirational Quotes From Leo Buscaglia :)

Felice Leonardo "Leo" Buscaglia, Ph.D. (31 March 1924 – 11 June 1998) was an author and motivational speaker, and a professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Southern California. He was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School (Los Angeles). Leo Buscaglia authored a number of New York Times bestselling inspirational books on love and human reticence on the subject, including The Fall of Freddie the Leaf, Bus 9 to Paradise, Living Loving and Learning, Love, and My Father. In lectures he often protested, in outrage at the comparative absence of writings on the subject, "I got the copyright for love!!!" [source: wikipedia]

More Than A Day
written by Karl Fuchs

As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we're poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.

We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We're wealthy, when push comes to shove.

So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you've got;
Realize it's a lot,
And you'll make all your cares go away.

Thanksgiving Delights
written by Joanna Fuchs

On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
Our blessings all year through,
For family we dearly love,
For good friends, old and new.

For sun to light and warm our days,
For stars that glow at night,
For trees of green and skies of blue,
And puffy clouds of white.

We’re grateful for our eyes that see
The beauty all around,
For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
And ears to hear each sound.

The list of all we’re grateful for
Would fill a great big book;
Our thankful hearts find new delights
Everywhere we look!

Thanksgiving Day Humor!

Happy Thanksgiving Day Everybody!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Day everybody! May your day be filled with tons of love, joy and laughter! Look around you and you will find many many things to be thankful for... the most basic is thanking God for the mere fact you wake up every day and have been blessed with the gift of LIFE.

I would like to publicly thank God first and foremost for loving me unconditionally, for never giving up on me, for always believing in me and for taking care of all of my needs. I also thank God for blessing me with a great mom, great meow's, great friends, great neighbors, a creative mind, a free spirit and a loving heart. I can't forget to thank all of my readers from all around the world for all of your love and support. You are greatly appreciated. ♥♥♥

This may be a national holiday for giving thanks, a day of reflecting. Nevertheless, we must make it a point to give thanks to God every day of our lives for even the most basic needs fullfilled daily. Here are a few examples of what we could be thankful for daily: a roof over our head, a warm comfy bed to sleep in, clean running water, a toilet that flushes, electricity, a refrigerator to store food, a stove to cook, a microwave, a television, a radio, a computer, the internet, a phone to communicate with others, paved roads, traffic lights, the kindness of others, smiles, laughter, music, entertainment, the Twilight Zone... you get the picture don't you? We can get really deep if you want and we can thank God for our sight, our hearing, our sense of smell, our sense of taste, our sense of touch. Thank Him that we are in good health or how about thanking God for giving us another day to enjoy. Love you! Hope you have a GREAT day! :) ♥

The Boss ~ by Diana Ross ♥ I Included A Bonus Track/Vid For More INSPIRATION And To Let You Know That YOU ARE NOT ALONE! :)

My mom has always been a huge Diana Ross fan. I grew up listening to her albums and dancing in the living room with my mom. I was also fortunate enough as a child to experience Diana Ross live in concert with my mom on several occasions. Diana Ross would always wear the most beautiful elaborate gowns on stage and change gowns after every set. She would also walk out into the audience and shake everybody's hand. She always without fail LEFT ME MESMERIZED! Diana Ross is an AWESOME entertainer! Pure CLASS.

The Boss was a huge hit when it came out. Nevertheless, this is actually a very powerful spiritual song if you really choose to listen. God is LOVE. Therefore, God is The Boss! Creator and Source of ALL living things. Love to you all. Enjoy this song and lyrics! This was me. I can totally relate to this song, as I am sure many of you can as well or soon will. ♥

This is such an AWESOME song! I can't get enough of it tonight! :) This was not released as a spiritual song. It was a dance hit in 1979. The lyrics just have more meaning for me. ♥

The Boss ~ by Legendary Diana Ross

Fancy ME
Thought I had my degree
In life and how LOVE
Ought to be a run
I had a one step plan to prove it
Guide in my pocket for FOOLS
Folly and fun
LOVE had to show me ONE THING:

I was so right
So right
Thought I could turn emotion
On and off
I was so sure
So sure (I was so sure)
But LOVE TAUGHT ME
Who was who was who was The Boss!
(Taught me who was who was The Boss)

I'D DEFY
Anyone who claimed that I
Didn't control whatever moved in MY SOUL
I could tempt
Touch delight
Just because you fell for me
Why should I feel uptight
LOVE had to show me ONE THING:

I was so right
So right
Thought I could turn emotion
On and off
I was so sure
So sure (I was so sure)
But LOVE TAUGHT ME
Who was who was who was The Boss!
(Taught me who was who was The Boss)

LOVE TAUGHT ME
Taught ME
Taught ME
Taught ME

I was so right
So right
Thought I could turn emotion
On and off
I was so sure
So sure (I was so sure)
But LOVE TAUGHT ME
Who was who was who was The Boss!
(Taught me who was who was The Boss)

BONUS TRACK
God wants you to know: If you need me, call me. No matter where you are, no matter how far. Just call my name. I'll be there in a hurry. On that you can depend and never worry.

I know you must follow the sun. Wherever it leads. But remember. If you should fall short of your desires. Remember life holds for you one guarantee. You'll always have me. ♥

POEM: I Did The Best I Could Today. Beautifully Expressed... ♥

I Did The Best I Could Today
written by Wendy Box

I did the best I could today;
I stumbled and I fell;
I cried and I yelled;
But I didn't stay down;
I released the pain, through tears;
I prayed to my God for strength to go on;
Then I dusted myself off and finished the day;
I know it's all as it should be;
For my God knows exactly what I need;
I will sleep tonight in comfort;
In peace and harmony;
Because today, I did the best I could;
And that's good enough for me!

Sleep in the arms of the Angels my friends;
Hope all is well with you each and everyone;
Sweet Dreams
(((hugs & love)))

Steps To Happiness... ♥

Steps To Happiness
poem written by Father Pat

Everybody Knows:
You can't be all things to all people.
You can't do all things at once.
You can't do all things equally well.
You can't do all things better than everyone else.
Your humanity is showing just like everyone else's.

So:

You have to find out who you are, and be that.
You have to decide what comes first, and do that.
You have to discover your strengths, and use them.
You have to learn not to compete with others,
Because no one else is in the contest of *being you*.

Then:

You will have learned to accept your own uniqueness.
You will have learned to set priorities and make decisions.
You will have learned to live with your limitations.
You will have learned to give yourself the respect that is due.
And you'll be a most vital mortal.

Dare To Believe:

That you are a wonderful, unique person.
That you are a once-in-all-history event.
That it's more than a right, it's your duty, to be who you are.
That life is not a problem to solve, but a gift to cherish.
And we'll be able to stay one up on what used to get us.

May God Bless you and keep you safe.

Laughter Came from Every Brick, A Poem ♥

Laughter Came from Every Brick
from Love Poems from God, by Daniel Ladinsky

Just these two words He spoke
changed my life,
“Enjoy Me.”
What a burden I thought I was to carry -
a crucifix, as did He.
Love once said to me, “I know a song,
would you like to hear it?”
And laughter came from every brick in the street
and from every pore in the sky.
After a night of prayer,
He changed my life when
He sang,
“Enjoy Me.”

Tips to help you put more laughter in your life:
* Figure out what makes you laugh and do it (or read it or watch it) more often.
* Surround yourself with funny people — be with them every chance you get.
* Develop your own sense of humor but never at anyone else’s expense.

Back to the Playground... I Was Led To This Wonderful Description About Enjoying LIFE With Childlike Simplicity And Humility That I Want To Share With You! ♥

Back to the Playground
[source: Theology Essay]

I’m spending a lot more time at playgrounds lately. My grandchildren are coniseurs of playgrounds. When they come to visit, I usually ask them what they want to do. Invariably, they excitedly sing out, “Let’s go to the park!” Park to them means a playground. They can’t conceive of a park without a playground. I’ve learned some valuable lessons at the playground.

On our last trip to a playground, two of my grandchildren came along. They had just put clean clothes on and it had rained during the night. So I was a little apprehensive about the puddles of water on the playground. It wasn’t long before I spotted Kaitlyn on the playground digging through the rocks and mud. Just before I was about to scold her for getting her clothes dirty, she came running toward me with an outstretched arm and a smile on her face. When she got to me she handed me a little heart-shaped rock and said, “Here PaPa! Here is a heart for you – just because I love you! Keep it!” With tears in my eyes, I thanked her.

Did I scold her for getting her clothes muddy? What do you think? No way! And, yes, I still have that little heart-shaped rock given to me by my four-year-old granddaughter. It is one of the best gifts that I have ever received. I realized that many times we miss out on so much when we sweat the small stuff.

We need to spend a lot more time at the playground. Jesus said, “Except you be converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever, therefore, shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3-4).

What are some things we can learn on the playground to help us live simple, stress free lives?

First – SIMPLICITY enables us to relax and have peace. Jesus revealed that those who live in humility as a little child are the greatest in the kingdom of God. Children enjoy the simple things in life. We often take things too seriously. Prolonged seriousness will kill. It will kill your joy and, worse, it will kill your child-likeness.

As adults, we tend to make things too complicated. When David was a shepherd boy, he dared to believe with childlike faith that God would deliver the giant Goliath into his hands. He spurned all of the body armor and weapons that King Saul gave him. Instead, he met the giant on the battlefield with his simple sling and five smooth stones. He figured it was simple – the giant was so big he couldn’t miss! Who won? That’s simple – God plus one is always the majority. (See I Samuel 17.)

Second – SING. Sing a silly song sometimes. Children love to sing. The Bible says, “A merry heart doeth good like medicine” (Proverbs 17:2). (See Proverbs 15:13 and Ephesians 5:18-19.) Have you lost your song? Ask God to give you a new song to sing. (See Psalm 98:1.)

Third – STAY LOOSE. Children are not normally uptight and worried about life. Ask yourself, “Will this matter a year from now?” I picked up a great little book the other day that had an intriguing title – Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff . . . and it’s all small stuff by Richard Carlson PhD. It is Dr Carlson’s premise that whenever we’re dealing with bad news or troublesome situations, most of us get into certain habits, ways of reacting to life that don’t serve us very well. We overreact, tend to blow things out of proportion, hold on too tightly, and focus on the negative. We live our life as if it was one huge emergency! Stay loose – don’t sweat the small stuff. (See Matthew 6:25-34.)

Fourth – SHARE. Children usually love to share. Giving is fun and it doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate. Have you ever seen the delight of two children sharing an ice cream cone or simply jumping through mud puddles or dancing in the rain? I saw a wonderful bumper sticker not too long ago. It said, “Practice Random Acts of Kindness and Senseless Acts of Beauty”. Practicing random or spontaneous acts of kindness is an effective way to get in touch with the joy of giving without expecting anything in return. It’s even more rewarding when you don’t let anyone know what you are doing. Remember that Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. Also, why not take time each day and think of someone to thank?

Fifth – SPRITIUAL VITALITY brings everlasting and abundant life. Children are naturally attuned to the spiritual. Only as people grow older do they become hardened and insensitive to the spiritual. That’s why we need to go back to the playground and become as little children. Jesus warns us, “I assure you, unless you turn from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 18:3 NLT). Perhaps you need to sing that old children’s song again, “Jesus loves me this I know. For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong. They are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves. Yes, Jesus loves me.”

Do you need to go back to the playground of childlike simplicity and humility? In childlike faith ask Jesus Christ to come into your life. “For as many as received Him gave He power to become children of God even those who believed on His name” (John 1:12).

A Faith To Imitate Child-Like Qualities And Its Blessings part 2 of 2

A Faith To Imitate Child-Like Qualities And Its Blessings

In working through this text I came across a poem that provides a fitting conclusion for what we’ve been talking about today. It’s actually a prayer, so in simple, humble and trusting faith I’d ask that you bow your heads and fold your hands. We pray:

Make me, O Lord, a child again. So tender, frail and small.
In self, possessing nothing. In Thee, possessing all.

O Savior, make me small once more. That downward I may grow
And in this heart of mine restore, The faith of long ago.

With Thee may I be crucified, No longer I that lives.
O Savior, crush my sinful pride. By grace, which pardon gives.

Make me, O Lord, a child again. Obedient to Thy call;
In self, possessing nothing. In Thee, possessing all. Amen.

A Faith To Imitate Child-Like Qualities And Its Blessings part 1 of 2

A Faith To Imitate Child-Like Qualities And Its Blessings

“People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant.” If you took a walk through the hallways and the various rooms of our school you’d see them hanging on the walls. They also adorn the walls of many Christian homes. In the world of Christian art are many, many pictures of Jesus with little children.

The Gospels make this abundantly clear: Jesus dearly loved little children. He held them up as examples of faith, as He does in our text for today. He watched them at play and drew lessons from them. And He gave a stern warning to anyone who might cause them spiritual harm. You may recall this pronouncement from last week’s Gospel lesson: “If anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.”

Yes, Jesus loved the little children. Perceiving this, parents would bring their children to Jesus so that, as we are told in our text, He might touch them – meaning that He might favor them with a special prayer or blessing.

But the disciples apparently didn’t see it this way. When the parents come with their children in tow (by the way, the Greek word used in the corresponding account in the Gospel of Luke indicates that among them were the very young, or infants), the disciples shooed them away. As they saw it, Jesus was a first century VIP and they didn’t want themselves or the Savior bothered with such unimportant or trivial matters.

However, Jesus viewed things quite differently. We are told that He became indignant.

That’s a pretty strong term. It clearly conveys that Jesus was angry and upset with the behavior of His disciples. And the reason He became justifiably angry (or as we sometimes say, “righteously indignant”) was because, in a sense, they had mistreated the little ones He loves so much.

What the disciples considered a nuisance Jesus clearly considered an infraction. So in response to their actions: “He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will not enter it.’”

His point: The faith of a child – the kind of faith that takes Jesus at His word and believes the message of salvation and all the other promises of God without a hint of hesitation – that is what our Lord holds up as a faith to imitate. Let’s talk about this kind of faith on the basis of these three descriptions: Simple… Humble… Trusting…

A child-like faith is first of all SIMPLE. As you observe the faith of a child you’ll find this to be true. Ask one of our lower level Sunday School or Lutheran Elementary School teacher and they’ll tell you. Because my wife and I both worked there in our college years, this aspect of child-faith also reminds me of the residents of Bethesda Lutheran Home for the developmentally disabled in Watertown. Spend some time working there – or in any kind of similar situation with a similar clientele – and you’ll understand both the meaning and depth of simple faith.

And you will also learn quite quickly not to mistake a simple faith for a shallow faith. Shallow faith is often a mile wide but an inch deep. Simple faith is just the opposite.

What I mean is this: Neither a young child raised in a Christian home nor the devout resident of Bethesda will be able to give you a thumbnail sketch of each book of the Bible, and it is highly unlikely that you’ll find a Greek or Hebrew Bible on their nightstand as they pour through Scripture in the original. They will not possess that kind of academic knowledge.

But what they do know is this: Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.

What they do know is that long ago on a hill outside of a city they’ve never been to named Jerusalem Jesus died on a cross to take away all their sins. And they know why: So they would be clean and pure in the eyes of God and someday live with Him forever in heaven.

What they also know is that Jesus didn’t stay dead, but that He rose from the grave. And they know Him to be their invisible but living friend who listens intently to them when they talk to Him in their prayers.

Those are the elementary, rudimentary truths of Scripture. Nothing complicated or complex about them. The child Jesus holds up as an example simply takes at face value the truths God tells us in His Word. A child-like faith is SIMPLE.

Likewise, A child-like faith is HUMBLE. When problems come it looks upward rather than inward for solutions. We live in a world which instructs us to look deeply “inside ourselves” for answers to our difficulties. And certainly we do have a responsibility to apply the Word of God we’ve been taught to our various situations in life.

But those with a child-like faith know that the power to change things comes not from within, but from without. Not from inside us, but from above us.

Children don’t let things go that far. Child-like faith humbly approaches the throne of grace well before the crisis point, recognizing that God is good and God is great and God is ever-present to help us in every situation. A child-like faith is HUMBLE.

Finally, a child-like faith is TRUSTING. Think once more of a child, this time at prayer. Hands folded, head bowed, eyes purposely shut. This is a picture of trust, because that is what they do. They trust that the Lord will hear them and that He is capable of doing everything they ask of Him.

Simple… humble… trusting. These are the elements of a child like faith. These are the components Jesus holds up before us when He speaks about the “little ones who believe in me.” In this same child-like way Jesus invites, counsels and asks us to trust Him, His Word, His promises and His offer of salvation.

And we say, yes, we really ought to do that. But we say it more in the wistful terms of a wish or a dream, as if it would be nice, but it’s really not possible. Too simplistic, we may think. Trust Jesus and everything will work out. Sounds great, but life is bit too complicated to reduce handling it in such an uncomplicated way…

And that, friends, is our biggest mistake. It is the mistake of not taking Jesus at His Word. Because when it gets right down to it, taking Him at His Word is what Jesus means by “child-like faith.”

Let me give you a Scriptural example of this. At the very outset of this sermon we mentioned the name of King David as one of the “Great Cloud of Witnesses” we looked at this summer...

Well, if anyone can lay claim to having a complicated life, it would be him. As the ruler of Old Testament Israel in its golden age of power and influence, every decision, problem and concern eventually came to roost at his doorstep. Nonetheless, listen to the inspired words this man wrote in Psalm 131. It’s only three verses long, but the child-like attitude of this hero of faith is one we’d do well to imitate.

1 My heart is not proud, O LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.

2 But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

3 O Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.

These are the words of a man who did not question the Lord; a man who came before the Lord in humility, confidence and trustfulness. They are words for us all.

So, do we find ourselves worried? Are we anxious about life? Are we scared of what that great unknown we call the future might bring? If and when we are, our primary problem is probably this: we’re acting altogether too much like adults.

Jesus says when it comes to matters of faith, be a child. Trust. Believe. Then relax in the confidence that no matter how things may look or how things may go, God has them under control.

Life's Choices! This Is A Such GREAT Story! ♥

Life's Choices
[source: Moytura]

Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today.

You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood.

Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life, choose the positive side of life.

"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Michael said. "Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice.

You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.

The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life."

I reflected on what Michael said. Soon thereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Michael was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower! After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

I saw Michael about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied. "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon to be born daughter," Michael replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or I could choose to die. I chose to live."

"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.

Michael continued, "... the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read "he's a dead man. I knew I needed to take action."

"What did you do?" I asked.

"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Michael. "She asked if I was allergic to anything.

"Yes, I replied." The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, "Gravity."

Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."

Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude. I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

Enjoy each day, each breath and mostly each and every friend.

How Old Would You Be If...

A friend gave me this magnet years ago. She said she thought of me after she read it. Have you ever been asked this question? What is the first thing that comes to mind for you? Take some time to think this through.

For me, I see age as being fluid. I am as old as I feel and my response depends on what the situation and moments in time call for. There are times when I need to be serious and there are times when I can feel free to let my inner child come through. There is a full range of possibilities within. Although, I am keenly aware of the set time I have spent on this earth and I treasure every one of those years.

Since we have no knowledge of when our time will expire, we do need to cherish every moment and make the most of every moment.

Confirmed! R2-D2 Will Be In Star Wars VII And Fans (Yes, Fans) Are Making It Happen. w00t! :)

The first behind-the-scenes photo from Star Wars: Episode VII hit Twitter last Thursday, featuring director J.J. Abrams, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, and a certain blue and white astromech droid — who StarWars.com can now confirm will indeed be in the film. But who are the two men standing behind Artoo, looking very protective of the “overweight glob of grease”?

Meet Lee Towersey and Oliver Steeples, Star Wars fans and members of the worldwide R2-D2 Builders Club. They create fully functioning, film-accurate astromech droids like the R2-D2 seen in the photo, and they’re officially part of the creature effects team for Star Wars: Episode VII. They didn’t apply for their jobs, but still had what is probably the best reference one could hope for.

“It all started when Kathleen Kennedy toured the R2-D2 Builders area at Celebration Europe this past summer in Germany,” says Steeples, who finished his first R2-D2 in 2007, after 10 years of collecting parts and researching. “She posed for pictures with us, looked at all the droids we’d built and was very complimentary. I mentioned that the R2-D2 Builders in the UK were available if required, as a semi-joke. When I was contacted to work on the film by [executive producer] Jason McGatlin, it was on her recommendation.”

Steeples, from Berkshire, England, and Towersey, from Middlesex, England, are working full-time on Star Wars: Episode VII at Pinewood Studios (where the Twitter photo was taken), focusing solely on astromech-building — for now. Keeping an astromech droid in working condition throughout the production of a film is a challenge, as it’s filled with gears, lights, and electronics; Steeples and Towersey were chosen because of their expertise and experience, both having worked on Star Wars-themed commercials for the UK appliances megastore Currys. “We know the pressures of filming, prepping, and being able to assure reliability throughout the shoot,” says Towersey, who built the droid seen in the tweet. “We have a good knowledge of Artoo, with a large stock of parts for reference and drawings, plus we know what is involved throughout the whole building process, as well as potential problems we need to avoid.” Despite their impressive understanding of how to construct an astromech droid and keep it functioning, Steeples and Towersey still have a goal for Star Wars: Episode VII: to build a better R2-D2.

“What we do need to do is improve on the mechanics,” says Towersey. “We’re currently in a research and design phase where we’re looking at drive options for reliability on all possible terrains, whether it be a one-motor-does-all, or a system which is easily adjusted depending on terrain. We have a few mocked up ideas which we hope to road test very soon.” And while they’re now on the inside of Star Wars moviemaking, the two remain fans at heart.

“It’s fascinating to see the whole process of filmmaking as Star Wars: Episode VII grows around us,” says Towersey. “I feel very privileged to be in the working environment I’m in at the moment. It’s something I will never take for granted.”

“It’s a dream come true,” adds Steeples, “and I hope I can live up to the expectations of the thousands of R2-D2 Builders around the world, let alone the millions of Star Wars fans.”

Walt Disney's Daughter Diane Disney Miller Passed Away On Tuesday November 19th At Age 79 :'(

Tuesday November 19, 2013

NAPA, Calif. — Diane Disney Miller, Walt Disney's daughter and one of his inspirations for building the Disneyland theme park, has died at her Northern California home. She was 79.

Her death Tuesday in Napa was confirmed by The Walt Disney Co. The cause was complications from a fall, said Andi Wang, spokeswoman for the Walt Disney Family Museum.

"As the beloved daughter of Walt Disney and one of his inspirations for creating Disneyland, she holds a special place in the history of The Walt Disney Co. and in the hearts of fans everywhere," Robert Iger, the company's president and CEO, said in a statement. "She will be remembered for her grace and generosity and tireless work to preserve her father's legacy."

Miller, the eldest daughter of Walt and Lillian Disney, was born Dec. 18, 1933. In later life, she remembered her father as a man who was caring and patient with his children.

"He'd take me and my sister Sharon to the merry-go-round at Griffith Park and stand there all day waiting until we were ready to go," Miller told the San Francisco Chronicle in 1998. "As he stood there, he kept thinking there should be more for parents and children to do together, and the idea for Disneyland was born."

Miller's younger sister, Sharon, died of cancer in 1993. She is survived by her husband, Ronald, who owns the Silverado Vineyards Winery in Napa Valley, as well as seven children and 13 grandchildren.

Diane Miller founded the Walt Disney Family Museum, which opened in 2009 in San Francisco's Presidio, as a tribute to her family's legacy. One of her major concerns was that her father's name had become associated more with a corporate identity than with the man himself.

She also played a key role in the completion of the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, a project started with a $50 million gift from her mother.

In 1997, she bucked project leaders like Richard Riordan, the mayor at the time, and billionaire Eli Broad, who said Gehry's firm lacked the experience to execute the plans for the building's unusual curved polished steel design. At a crucial point, Miller threatened to withhold the roughly $20 million remaining of her mother's gift if Gehry was not kept on.

"I wanted something that would bear my father's name, that would come from his wealth but not be commercial," Miller told the Los Angeles Times in September. "I think we achieved that."

Happy Birthday, Mickey Mouse! The Disney Icon Turned 85 On Monday November 18th. :)

Monday November 18, 2013

Today marks the birthday of one of the most beloved characters in entertainment history. On November 18, 1928, Mickey Mouse made his debut in the short “Steamboat Willie.” It was the third short Walt Disney had made – the first two, “Plane Crazy” and “The Gallopin’ Gaucho,” failed to land a distributor, though they did see release after the success of “Steamboat Willie.”

Walt Disney initially provided the voice for Mickey in the early shorts, and he continued to voice Mickey until 1946 and again briefly on The Mickey Mouse Club television series. The simplicity of Mickey’s form and his early success in animated shorts made him the company’s icon.

The company is celebrating Mickey’s birthday all day long on Disney Channel:
Disney Channel is celebrating by showing this year’s Mickey Mouse cartoons every half-hour beginning at 1:25 p.m., culminating in the 8 p.m. airing of “Potatoland,” the first-ever extended episode of “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts. “Potatoland” is a brand-new short that is longer than the usual 3-1/2 minutes.

“Potatoland” is a seven-minute cartoon that follows Mickey, Donald and Goofy on a road trip to Idaho to fulfill Goofy’s dream of visiting the Potatoland theme park.

Throughout the day, Disney will also be airing birthday messages to Mickey from the stars of “Austin & Ally,” “Dog with a Blog,” “Jessie” and “Shake It Up.” The network will also air back-to-back episodes of “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
No doubt guests will see celebrations in the theme parks as well, but as of this writing, I have not found a list of any events at the parks.

In honor of Mickey Mouse’s birthday, enjoy “Steamboat Willie”:

By Your Side... ♥

This is such a BEAUTIFUL SONG! I needed to share with all of you.
You are NEVER ALONE! Ssshhh... listen... can you hear God's voice?

By Your Side ~ by Sade

You think I'd leave your side baby?
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave down when your down on your knee's?
I wouldn't do that

I'll do you right when your wrong
I-----I ohhh, ohhh

If only you could see into me

Oh, when your cold
I'll be there to hold you tight to me
When your on the outside baby and you can't get in
I will show you, your so much better than you know
When your lost, when your alone and you can't get back again
I will find you darling I'll bring you home

If you want to cry
I am here to dry your eyes
and in no time you'll be fine

You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave you down when your down on your knee's?
I wouldn't do that

I'll do you right when your wrong
I-----I, ohhhh, ohhh

If only you could see into me

Oh when your cold
I'll be there
To hold you tight to me
Oh when your alone
I'l be there by your side baby

Taurus Full Moon Sunday November 17th; Great Read! I Too Have Been Feeling The Cosmic Shift Leading Up To This Full Moon. ♥

Dear Friends,

I thought it would be good to repost here from our website (www.thepowerpath.com) what was written for the November forecast just so you know you are not alone in this big process called change and that there are others probably experiencing the same thing.

"November 8-15: During this "shell shocked" time sometimes it is enough just to put one foot in front of the other. You may feel contracted or have difficulty staying up beat and positive. You may be unfocused or confused or scattered. There is much that is changing and paying attention to your immediate environment is crucial. Keep you daily goals achievable and be disciplined about staying neutral, not taking anything personally and seeing everything as a work in progress.

Remember that even if it does not appear that there is any progress in the physical, there is a great deal going on energetically. Keep your mind occupied with mundane tasks so it does not go into fretting, obsession and anxiety about what it does not know.

The positive of this time frame is an allowing of a new foundation and a new anchor. You are in the birth canal. There is no going back. Relax and allow, but push yourself forward with discipline and presence."

A monthly support audio Mp3 with Anna and Lena will help you with further discussion, suggestions, exercises, shamanic support, icaros and guided visualizations. (LINK HERE)

Full Moon is Sunday, November 17 at 8:16 AM MST. Because this is such a powerful time energetically, it is easy to get caught up in the drama of it all. The temptation is always to look at what has come down that has been a challenge or is negative. The mind will always want to understand and try to process what did not work out much more readily than gaining any insight into what has manifested without any problem.

During this full moon, discipline the mind to accept and welcome the positives in your life. Focus on what works and ask the "what if" questions that will stimulate even a greater expansion and gratitude. "What if this path you are experiencing now will take you forward into a life so magical and fulfilling that you cannot even imagine it?"

Blessings,

Lena

Taurus Full Moon
Sun in Scorpio/Moon in Taurus ~25º

(3:15 PM Greenwich Mean Time, GMT)
written by Patricia Liles

Note: The following may be somewhat serious in nature and not be that uplifting to some or suitable for the inner child.

We all know it's a time of major change and a collective stretch for greater conscious awareness. Support is abundant and available just by stepping outside our self-centered universe and calling it forth. Taurus Full Moon acts as a mirror to its opposite sign, Scorpio, and reflects back to us all our issues with empowerment, intimate truth, and what we must relinquish to evolve as we move through this time weighted in the archetype Scorpio. Full Moon is in fixed signs, so we have to deal with where we're stuck. The imperative might be less intense, but Scorpio along with the Sun also hosts Saturn, our Lord of Karma and Keeper of Time, the Big Daddy Teacher who raps you on your knuckles with something sharp to get your attention and insists on some adult priorities, discipline and focus in your life. In this chart, Saturn is at 15º Scorpio, the most powerful degree in a fixed sign=it's strong! The North Node is also in Scorpio pointing with a crooked crone finger at just where we need to show up collectively and bring to the light all that is denied, covered over, festering and causing bad vibes all around us. Relationships are erupting all over the place unable to bear the stress of Scorpio's scrutiny and the pressure of its Pluto ruler in maximum torque square to Uranus.

Uranus is in a very cranky mood, not positively aspected to anything and in difficult aspect to the Sun, Mercury and Venus/Pluto. Uranus wants change NOW, but Pluto is more powerful at the moment and is calling for a visit to the depths. Uranus may have to wait for spring when the Sun, Venus and especially Mars roles into Aries with support and then major changes can get implemented. Right now transformation is the only pull down tab available.

Mercury, our Messenger, influencing our thought and communication processes is also in Scorpio helping us to heal our mental habits to eliminate judgment, stubborn attachment to being right, and those naughty gremlins of low frequency separation – resentment, intimidation, greed, jealousy, envy, suspicion.

Scorpio gives us access to tremendous power and healing ability. This is the feminine power continuum, Scorpio/Taurus – the water/earth polarity of emotion and practical manifestation. Here, we can use it to delve into some cold, hard truths about ourselves and transform what has gone before by opening our hearts to our true inheritance, the power of Love. Venus, Goddess of Love, is doing her part by standing at the side of Pluto that powerful Lord of the Underworld – a clear sign that issues in relationship, right use of our finances and resources, and empowerment of the feminine principles of inclusion and cooperation may manifest in some way for you.

What does the Taurus Moon bring to this chart? Our self-esteem, our self worth, our safety and feelings of security and comfort, what is truly valuable to us, and the connection to our material possessions and finances. All of this is up for scrutiny. Some of you in long-term relationships may find yourself projected out intensely on your partners (or you may find yourself the object of that projection). Because the past, the hidden, the deeply buried is so emphasized in Scorpio, many have to look to original parental issues where as children we have been shamed, ridiculed, dismissed, falsely glorified, etc. and stamped with overwhelming issues underlying our self worth and self love. The bad news – these painful, 'I-can't-deal-with-this' issues are in our face, and the good news – this is the Scorpionic opportunity to bring this to the light and release it. Surrender is messy, unwelcome, and scares us to death as it breaks down all our defenses and reveals a struggling child within; we fight it with all the ego strength we've got, and some of us are incredibly STRONG! Okay, it's all very psychological, but Hello! Scorpio is about the psychological, the hidden motivation, sexuality and death. Are you willing to surrender your comfort (Taurus) for your personal empowerment (Scorpio)? Well, here's the opportunity to make a realistic assessment of how your outdated story is ready to be released and radically updated to hold more power than you ever thought imaginable. Your old stories are not you and are just waiting to crumple to dust when you take your energies out of them.

If all of this is too much for you, so be it. The shamanic path is not for everyone. It takes courage and a desire to heal. Let the Taurus Moon lead you to nature, Mother Earth and the beauty, love and support available through her. The feminine is being hugely empowered now and along with that comes the need to clear out our emotional filters and distorting veils with forgiveness and gratitude for the rebalancing of the Masculine and Feminine on the planet.

Within a 10 day period, three planets have turned direct, Mercury (11/10), Neptune (11/13), Chiron (11/19) so the energies are quite concentrated and there's the feeling of being buffeted and on shaky ground. We're being blindfolded and spun around three times to give a whole new orientation. Remind yourself often what your priorities are, clean your energy field daily, clean and renew the energy in your living environment frequently, even daily if you're going through many changes, and give thanks daily for having the strength and wisdom to be chosen for a major role in this incredible evolutionary show.

2013 Taurus Full Moon Sunday Nov 17; I Love How She Combines Her Spirit Guides Storytelling With Astrology :)

2013 Taurus Full Moon

As Snowy Owl and Shooting Star entered the Star Temple the western horizon was ablaze with orange and gold. Grandfather Sun had just set and his rays cast the brilliant colours. The sisters could see one of The Wanderers shining in the twilight low on the horizon. They knew it must be Evening Star. As soon as that thought crossed their minds Sister Moon who was rising in the east spoke. “Evening Star is your guide at this Full Moon celebration. I will let her tell you the message for all to hear.”

Sister Moon fell silent but her presence was very powerful as her round face had a golden glow. Later when she climbed higher in the night sky her face would become silver but for now the rays of Grandfather Sun caused her golden colour.

Snowy Owl and Shooting Star heard a clear voice coming from the west direction. Evening Star spoke “In the faraway time, at Winter Solstice in the north, I will begin a backward journey into the Underworld. The purpose of this journey is for the twoleggeds to find their authentic self and discover their Spiritual Power. Not everyone will be willing to go on this journey for it requires surrender of the ego. But for those who do there will be many blessings. The reason Sister Moon and I are sharing this message now is for the two of you to fly to the far away time and be guides for those who are willing to take this journey with me. This Full Moon is an initiation and the first step to breaking free the authentic self. Please go and share this message with all who are ready.”

Snowy Owl and Shooting Star hurried to put on their magic capes so they could fly to the far away time to guide those people who were ready to begin the journey.

Full Moons are always visually inspiring. Sister Moon shines her lovely light on all of the Earth Mother’s kingdoms. When she visits Taurus she reminds the human kingdom what a beautiful world we are privileged to inhabit. Sometimes the twoleggeds (as our stories call humans) forget to appreciate the gift of living on this most precious planet. That is what this Full Moon is asking us to do. Show appreciation for all we have in our lives.

The key phrase for Taurus is “I Have”. It is the sign associated with self worth, a love of beauty, personal assets and resources. Its opposite sign Scorpio’s key phrase is “I desire”. It is the sign associated with passion, death, transformation and rebirth. It is also associated with other people’s resources and joint resources. This Taurus Full Moon completes the lessons we have been working on since the Taurus New Moon Eclipse of May 09, 2013. The theme has been to identify what is of true value and importance in our lives and release the rest. So ask yourself are you done with that or are you still hanging on to what no longer serves you? Taurus and Scorpio are both security oriented and have difficulty letting go of what is perceived as safe when that may be an illusion. This Full Moon is about releasing dependence on outer security and becoming self empowered. Taurus rules the throat chakra so it is also about speaking our truth.

Venus is the ruler for the Moon in Taurus. She is associated with beauty and love. That comes from Roman mythology but is a superficial interpretation. Venus comes from a lineage of very powerful Goddesses. Aphrodite and Persephone (Greek) Isis (Egyptian) Ishtar (Babylonian) and Inanna (Sumerian) just to name a few are her ancestors. They all are symbols of inner power but only after they experienced a journey into the underworld and were able to release the old way of being and conquer their fears. As our story tells us the planet Venus will take us on that journey into the Underworld in January 2014. The theme will be releasing fears that prevent us from living our Soul Purpose and being in our Spiritual Power. Venus will be retrograde Dec 21, 2013 to Jan 31, 2014 and will ask us to do deep healing so those fears will be released.

At this Taurus Full Moon Venus is at 11 degrees Capricorn and already guiding us to begin that journey. She is travelling with Pluto who is at 09 degrees Capricorn and the ruler of the Sun in Scorpio. So the two rulers of this Full Moon are travelling side by side and giving us the opportunity to begin the journey to being fully empowered in the world. They both are working in sextile (harmony and new opportunities) with Mercury (our thoughts and perceptions) the North Node (new directions) and Saturn (secure foundation) in Scorpio (transformation). They are sextile Chiron in Pisces (healing our Spirits) and trine the South Node in Taurus (releasing the past). They are square (finding new ways of doing things) Uranus in Aries (breaking through to the authentic self). Even the square is beneficial. So the planets are really supporting us to find our inner power and live from that place.

Beaver is the Animal Totem for the Moon in Taurus. This Four Legged is a symbol for building the new. Beaver always knows when it is time to leave the cluttered old lodge, swim downstream, and build the new lodge. At this Full Moon clearing the physical, mental, and emotional clutter from our lives is being supported by the planetary dance. For the Sun in Scorpio the Animal Totem who guides us is Snake, shedding the old. The Sacred Animal for Scorpio is the Phoenix, rising from the ashes and being re-born. For Venus and Pluto in Capricorn, the rulers of this Full Moon, the Animal Totem is Snow Goose, following your dreams and Spiritual Vision. The Sacred Animal for Capricorn is the Unicorn, connecting to the Mystical.

The Clan Mother for Taurus is Listening Woman. She is the Guardian of The Stillness and the sacred point of view of all life. She teaches us to listen and be open to hearing the truth. She also teaches us to listen to our inner knowing. For Scorpio the Clan Mother is Walks Tall Woman. She is the Guardian of Walking Our Truth and the Keeper of New Pathways. She teaches us to live our life with integrity. For Venus and Pluto in Capricorn the Clan Mother is Talks With Relations. She is the Guardian of Right Relationship with all Great Mystery has created. She teaches us to honour the truth of all things. She is the guide while Venus visits Capricorn (Nov 05, 2013 to Mar 05, 2014) and will support our journey into the Underworld in January 2014. For more of these 3 Clan Mothers’ stories see the 13 Original Clan Mothers and Earth Medicine both by Jamie Sams.

This Full Moon activates two Tarot Constellations. Taurus is found on the Constellation of The Hierophant: the principle of learning and teaching. Once we learn our lessons we then become Wise Teachers for others. Sagittarius is also found on this Constellation and is the principle of sharing our knowledge and wisdom. The only energy in Sagittarius at this Full Moon is Vulcan. He is a symbol of our hidden wounds. Scorpio is found on the Constellation of The Emperor: the principle of life force and the realization of power. Once we do our healing of our hidden wounds we find our Spiritual Power. The planet Uranus and the sign of Aries are also found on this Constellation. So interesting that Uranus in Aries is a major planetary player at this Full Moon as he squares (breaking free to the authentic self) the two rulers Pluto and Venus in Capricorn (finding our authentic power in the world).

Taurus and Scorpio are found on the Fourth Ray of Harmony Through Conflict. It is the Ray of humanity. We all know our species thrives on conflict. But this is also the Ray of Beauty and Peace. We have some challenging activations coming up in the next few months so let us all choose to walk through focused on beauty and peace. The Archangels who guide us at this Taurus/Scorpio Full Moon are Gabriel, transformation and resurrection, and Hope, optimism and renewal.

I wish all of you a powerful transformation at this Full Moon. If you are interested in discovering how the energies of Venus Retrograde and the year 2014 are influencing you I am available for astrology sessions in person or by phone. You can contact me at daleosadchuk@rogers.com for more information.
