Unemployment in Detroit Climbs to 28.9 Percent!

Wow! That is an ASTOUNDING NUMBER! It looks like we are getting what Obama promised, change! In coins that is... What an absolutel INSULT to the American people. This is truly a sad day in America! The proof is in the pudding Mr. President. Talk is cheap! Oh and it's nothing personal Mr. President. I would also be holding Hillary and McCain accountable if they were in your shoes right now and had these very same results! So please get over yourself and start doing the RIGHT THING for the American people and quit ACTING like you are. You're sense of humor is not going to get you out of this one either Mr. President!

Oh and for those of you who are not aware, Michigan has a DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR, her name is Jennifer Granholm. Michigan also has two DEMOCRATIC U.S. SENATORS named Carl Levin (up for re-election 2014) and Debbie Stabenow (up for re-election 2012). Please click HERE to read the list of U.S. House Representatives for the State of Michigan. As you scroll down you will notice that ALL of the hardest hit areas of Michigan are run by DEMOCRATIC U.S. OFFICIALS! You put these people in office because they promised to represent and serve you. Well by all accounts it would clearly appear that ALL of them have grossly FAILED YOU! These public officials are still getting paid and still enjoying the lavish benefits MEANWHILE THE ENTIRE STATE IS SUFFERING!

The solution is simple... do what the state of NEVADA is doing ATTRACTING BUSINESSES to their state by offering them incentives. Boy are their ads brilliant! The average person knows this strategy is effective, you don't need to have a Ph.d. to figure this out. You can even offer incentives for the citizens of your state to start a small business. More businesses EQUALS more jobs! Which in turn means more federal income tax revenue for our government PLUS CONSUMPTION! Oh and it would help if you trimmed some of your government FAT (WASTE). Stop plundering the tax coffers!

Nearly 3 in 10 residents of Detroit need a job.

The unemployment rate in the city of Detroit rose to 28.9 percent in July, the highest rate of unemployment since Michigan started keeping modern numbers, according to the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth.

113,008 people in Detroit are without jobs, 277,815 people are currently employed.

Despite news of an improving economy, many residents of Michigan haven't felt the impact of the nation's stimulus programs. The state of Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the nation at 15%. Other large cities in Michigan are extremely challenges as well. The city of Highland Park had a 36% unemployment rate in July, Pontiac 35% and Flint 28%.
