Scene From The Movie 'City Slickers'

This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie, "City Slickers" starring Billy Crystal and Jack Palance. Mitch is played by Billy Crystal and Curley is played by Jack Palance.

Curley: A cowboy leads a different kind of life. When there were cowboys. We're a dying breed. It still means something to me though. In a couple of days we'll move this herd across the river, drive 'em through the valley. Ah, there's nothing like bringing in the herd.

Mitch: You see now that's great. Your life makes sense to you.

Curley: [laughs]

Mitch: What's so funny?

Curley: You city folk. You worry about alot of shit, don't you.

Mitch: Shit, my wife basically told me she doesn't want me around.

Curley: How old are you? 38?

Mitch: 39

Curley: Yeah, you all come up here about the same age, same problems. You spend about 50 weeks a year getting knots in your rope and then you think two weeks up here will un-tie 'em for you. None of you get it. Do you know what the secret of life is?

Mitch: No what?

Curley: This.

Mitch: Your finger.

Curley: One thing. Just one thing. You stick to that and everything else don't mean shit!

Mitch: That's great but, what's the one thing?

Curley: That's what you've got to figure out.
