This is a 7 minute video of President Bush as he breaks out his stand-up routine at the White House correspondents dinner held on March 29, 2007. It's nice to see our esteemed President and friends have many laughs on OUR account!
I'm using George W's comedy act as a lead in to my real question and article. I've been wondering WHY the current twice elected President has not in any way supported ANY of the current Republican Presidential Candidates??? Why is this? The following is an excerpt from an article titled, "He Who Shall Not Be Named" written by Darrell Delamaide of MarketWatch.
===========================
To complicate matters further, a new player has entered the campaign - finally. His name: George W. Bush. The president has been curiously absent from most of the campaign, largely playing the role of "he who shall not be named," the status quo that everyone wants to change from. For the first time in decades, as was often noted at the outset of the campaign, the White House doesn't have a horse in this race, either president or vice president, and even Republicans are leery of tying themselves too closely to the current administration.
But it is, in fact, Bush who holds the whip hand. After the relative success of the surge in Iraq, a headline-grabbing trip to the Middle East, and now the chance to push through something to help the economy, this lame duck is standing up and walking. If Bush can avoid linking a stimulus package to a vote on making his tax cuts permanent, he could actually come out looking pretty good and help the Republican cause in the general election.

Um...did you say that Bush was ELECTED twice? Most definitely ONCE - in 2004.
Whether he was indeed elected in 2000 is debatable.
LOLOL! That was a good one Mammoth and oh soooo true! Thanks for that correction...
Oh and BTW I spend a good bit of time at work reviewing documents and I am ALWAYS finding errors, etc. in them.
(Like extraneous apostrophes.)
My colleagues tease me that it really makes my day just to find mistakes! Ha ha.
You wouldn't believe just how anal the FDA is when they come in to audit us, and even a simple grammatical error is like a red flag to them, though, so our documentation needs to look perfect.
Yet, they claim they can only inspect ~1% of the food we import from other countries!
Cheers, and thanks again for your blog, Princess M.

That was funny! I am so the same way, but mostly with my own written material. A few errors slip through every now and then. But I too am anal about grammar ;)
Yeah, what is up with that... the FDA being so meticulous with your documentation vs. the safety of the products being FED to our population? Hhhmmm.... That is a good topic for me to research for next week. Thanks Mammoth!
Princess M., if you have the time, also check into the latest news on "Frankenfoods."
Within the past week the US Govt. approved selling meat from cloned animals. But the truth is - it is ALREADY out there!
I read an article that told about how sperm from cloned bulls has already been dispersed through the beef industry.
Sometimes I toy with the idea of raising some animals...
Have a nice weekend!

I'll look into it. I wouldn't doubt it either. I don't put anything past the government these days!
Yeah, it's alright to clone, BUT it's not alright to use stem cells research for cures? [/sarcasm off]
