USA: America Has Suffered An Islamic Terror Attack Every Year Under Obama

The New York Post

America has now averaged one serious Islamic terrorist attack a year on President Obama’s watch, yet he still insists the threat from radical Islam is overblown and that he’s successfully protecting the nation.

If only hubris could be weaponized!

In the wake of Omar Mateen’s Orlando massacre, Obama whined about growing criticism of his terror-fighting strategy. But boy, does he deserve it. His record on terrorism is terrible, and Hillary Clinton should have a tough time defending it.

Here we are in the eighth year of his presidency, and the nation has now suffered eight significant attacks by Islamist terrorists on US soil or diplomatic property — an average of one attack a year since Obama’s been in office, with each new attack seemingly worse than the last.

And there’s six long months left to go.

Obama said Orlando “marks the most deadly shooting in American history.” Actually, it was the second-worst act of Islamic terrorism in American history, replacing in six short months the San Bernardino massacre as the deadliest terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11.

Here are the previous seven:

December 2015: Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, a married Pakistani couple, stormed a San Bernardino County government building with combat gear and rifles and opened fire on about 80 employees enjoying an office Christmas party. They killed 14 after pledging loyalty to ISIS. A third Muslim was charged with helping buy weapons.

July 2015: Mohammad Abdulazeez opened fire on a military recruiting center and US Navy Reserve center in Chattanooga, Tenn., where he shot to death four Marines and a sailor. Obama refused to call it terrorism.

May 2015: ISIS-directed Muslims Nadir Soofi and Elton Simpson opened fire on the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, shooting a security guard before police took them down.

April 2013: Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, Muslim brothers from Chechnya, exploded a pair of pressure-cooker bombs at the Boston Marathon, killing three and wounding more than 260. At least 17 people lost limbs from the shrapnel.

September 2012: Terrorists with al Qaeda in the Maghreb attacked the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, killing the US ambassador, a US Foreign Service officer and two CIA contractors. Obama and then-Secretary of State Clinton misled the American people, blaming the attack on an anti-Muslim video.

November 2009: Army Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire on fellow soldiers at Fort Hood, Texas, killing 13. Obama ruled it “workplace violence,” even though Hasan was in contact with an al Qaeda leader before the strikes and praised Allah as he mowed down troops.

June 2009: Al Qaeda-trained Abdulhakim Muhammad opened fire on an Army recruiting office in Little Rock, Ark., killing Pvt. William Long and wounding Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula.

So there you have it — an average of one serious terror strike against the United States every year on Obama’s watch. And we’re not even counting the underwear bomber, Times Square bomber, Fed Ex bombs and other near-misses.

History will not be kind to this president’s record.

When he came into office, Obama vowed to defeat terrorism using “all elements of our power”: “My single most important responsibility as president is to keep the American people safe. It’s the first thing that I think about when I wake up in the morning. It’s the last thing that I think about when I go to sleep at night.”

But it soon became clear he wasn’t serious.

In June 2009, Obama traveled to Cairo to apologize to Muslims the world over for America’s war on terror. Then he canceled the war and released as many terrorists as he could from Gitmo, while ordering the FBI and Homeland Security to delete “jihad” and other Islamic references from their counterterrorism manuals and fire all trainers who linked terrorism to Islam, blinding investigators to the threat from homegrown jihadists like Mateen.

Obama also stopped a major investigation of terror-supporting Muslim Brotherhood front groups and radical mosques, while opening the floodgates to Muslim immigrants, importing more than 400,000 of them, many from terrorist hot spots Syria, Iraq, Somalia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Attack after attack, the president has ridiculously maintained that global warming is a bigger threat than global terrorism. Americans are fed up. Even before San Bernardino and Orlando, polls showed Obama was widely viewed as soft on Islamist terrorists. He has an absolutely awful record keeping us safe from terrorism.

And this is the security mantle Hillary is so proud to inherit? Good luck with that.

Sharing other atrocities committed by Islamist in America that do not get wide coverage. Most are taken from WND.com and I added a few more that I can think of off the top of my head that were missed from this list highlighted in orange.

April 14, 2010 – A Muslim convert, James A. Larry, 33, became angry that his family would not convert to Islam and shot his mother, pregnant wife, infant son and two nieces in Marquette Park, Illinois. He pleaded guilty to multiple counts of murder, attempted murder and the intentional homicide of an unborn child. “He was upset at his wife and their family — he felt disrespected that they would not join his religion,” Assistant State’s Attorney Jim McKay said. “It didn’t matter if they were young or old, pregnant or not. He wanted them dead.” Larry also shot his 13-year-old nephew in the face, but the boy survived. When the man was arrested, he told officers Allah told him to kill his family, according to court records. According to a police report, he said, “I wish I had more bullets. I wish I had more bullets.”

April 30, 2011 – Rahim Abdul Alfetlawi, 46, shot his step-daughter in the head at point-blank range in Warren, Michigan, after she refused to strictly adhere to Muslim customs. The family claimed the motive was not religion.

Sept. 11, 2011 – Three Jewish men are discovered in Waltham, Massachusetts, with their throats slit from ear to ear and nearly decapitated. Authorities believed the murders were not random, and thousands of dollars in cash and marijuana were left at the scene. According to reports, authorities believe Boston Marathon bombers Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother, both Muslims, may have been responsible for the triple homicide.

Jan. 15, 2012 – A Jordanian Muslim man, Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan, 57, gunned down Iranian medical student, Gelareh Bagherzadeh, a friend of his daughter and a Christian convert who widely denounced Islam. He later killed his Christian son-in-law after his daughter married him without permission. Assistant Harris County District Attorney Tammy Thomas told a district judge, “He said, ‘I killed that b–ch, and you’re next. No one insults my honor as a Muslim and gets away with it.'”

Feb. 7, 2013 – Yusuf Ibrahim, 28, shot two Coptic Christians to death and beheaded them in Buena Vista, New Jersey. He also removed their hands before burying their bodies in the backyard of an abandoned house. Quran 8:12 states, “When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, ‘I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers’ hearts terror; so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!”

March 31, 2013 – Reshad Riddle walked into an Ashtabula, Ohio, church and fatally shot his father after an Easter service. After the shooting, witnesses say, walked through the church holding the gun and shouted that the slaughter was “the will of Allah. This is the will of God.”

March 31, 2013 - (Easter Sunday), a Muslim man named Haamid Ade Zaid drove his pickup truck through a parking lot in San Jose, California, striking parked cars. He then drove through the front of a Walmart store, crashed, got out and began assaulting shoppers with a blunt object before police arrived and arrested him. [source: Pamela Geller - Vehicular Jihad: Muslim plows into Walmart, assaults staff and customers on Easter Sunday]

April 15, 2013 – Muslim Chechen brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev detonate two pressure cooker bombs during the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring an estimated 264 others. After the bombing, they killed an MIT policeman, stole an SUV and exchanged gunfire with police. Tamerlan was shot and his brother drove over him with the stolen SUV. Tamerlan was pronounced dead at the scene. After a manhunt, police found Dzhokhar hiding in a boat in a man’s backyard. Dzokhar has been sentenced to death.

Aug. 4, 2013 – A Muslim convert, Daymond Agnew, 34, went to an Ace Hardware store on a “mission from Allah to help people” before he fatally stabbed employee Daniel Joseph Stone 17 times.

March 6, 2014 – Registered sex offender James Cosby, 46, is accused of bludgeoning his lesbian daughter to death and shooting her lover in Port Bolivar, Texas. Police believe he then dumped the bodies near a ferry gate. In his bedroom, Cosby had the Quran open to a page that says homosexuality is a sin, family advocate Quanell X told KHOU-TV. “It’s quite unfortunate but he had a real, real warped understanding, in my opinion, of the religion of Islam and its position on the gay lifestyle and what one should do,” Quanell X said.

April 27, 2014 – A 30-year-old Muslim man, Ali Muhammad Brown, is accused of shooting to death two men in Seattle and a man in New Jersey. According to local reports, he told police the killings were “vengeance” for U.S. actions in the Mideast. According to court documents, he said they were “just kills” and that he was “just doing my small part” as a self-styled jihadist.

Sept. 25, 2014 – Alton Nolen is accused of beheading a woman in Moore, Oklahoma. Co-workers reported that Nolen had been trying to convert them to Islam. Nolen reportedly used “some Arabic terms” during his attack and had an interest in beheadings. Nolen told a judge, “I’m Muslim. My question is, do you have any Muslims that can represent me as a Muslim?”

May 3, 2015 – In Garland, Texas, Pamela Geller, along with her group the American Freedom Defense Initiative, hosted a “Draw Muhammad” event. Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi of Phoenix responded to a call to “avenge the prophet” and traveled to Garland, where they were shot and killed by a security guard after opening fire in an apparent attempt to get into the building. The guard was wounded in the attack. Islamic radicals have since called for Geller’s head, and vow to kill anyone who “blasphemes” Muhammad.

November 5, 2015 - An 18-year-old Muslim man named Faisal Mohammad “had a smile on his face” as he stabbed four people at a University of California campus in Merced, according to witnesses. He was shot and killed by campus police officers who responded to the school after hearing about the attack. These are only attacks in which fatalities occurred.

USA: Report: Gun Store Warned FBI About Shooter's Behavior. Orlando Gunman Tried To Buy Level 3 Body Armor From Gun Store. Terrorist Was Already Known To The FBI.

CBS News
written by Staff
Friday June 17, 2016

JENSEN BEACH, Fla. -- The co-owner of a Florida gun store says his employees contacted law enforcement before the Orlando shooting after gunman Omar Mateen attempted to purchase body armor and ammunition.

Robbie Abell, co-owner of Lotus Gunworks, said Thursday his workers had a gut feeling about Mateen when he came to the store four or five weeks ago.

Mateen asked for level 3 body armor, according to Abell, but was told the store didn't carry it. He then made a phone call and spoke in Arabic before asking for bulk ammunition, but employees did not sell it to him.

Abell told reporters "we contacted FBI direct" after Mateen left the store but he did not elaborate on how investigators responded. He believed his employees did what they should have done, Abell said.

On Friday, the FBI released a statement confirming that the gun store told them in May, during an unrelated investigation, that Mateen tried to buy body armor.

However, the store did not have his name, date of birth, telephone number or other information. The shop notified the FBI after the shooting to say that the unknown man who had visited them resembled the nightclub shooter.

"Unfortunately, given the lack information about this individual, FBI agents were unable to conduct any meaningful investigative follow up." the FBI said.

Investigators say Mateen opened fire early Sunday morning at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, killing 49 people and wounding 53 others before he was killed in a shootout with police. It was the deadliest attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.

The FBI is investigating the shooting as both a hate crime, since it took place at a gay nightclub, and as a terror attack.

A source familiar with the investigation told CBS News on Wednesday that Mateen referenced the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in a Facebook message posted moments before the shooting.

"You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes..now taste the Islamic state vengeance [sic]," Mateen wrote, according to the source.

"In the next few days you will see attacks from the Islamic State [ISIS] in the usa," the post said.

WASHINGTON: Islamic State claimed responsibility on Sunday for the worst mass shooting in US history, but US officials said they had seen no immediate evidence linking the militant group to the massacre in Orlando, Florida.

Islamic State's claim was carried by Amaq, the organization's news agency.

"The armed attack that targeted a gay night club in the city of Orlando in the American state of Florida which left over 100 people dead or injured was carried out by an Islamic State fighter," said the Amaq statement.

At least 50 people were killed and 53 others were wounded in the Pulse nightclub before the gunman was shot dead by police.

The shooter was identified by authorities as Omar Mateen, a Florida resident and US-born son of Afghan immigrants who a senior FBI official said might have had leanings toward Islamic State.

The FBI official cautioned, however, that proving the suspected link to radical Islamism required further investigation.
Mateen had previously been investigated for ties to an American suicide bomber, the FBI said Sunday.

Special Agent Ronald Hopper said he had been cleared by the probe, but was believed to have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State before the massacre.

According to the agent, Mateen twice came to the attention of investigators in 2013 and 2014 over alleged links to Islamist extremists.

"The FBI first became aware of Mateen in 2013 when he made inflammatory comments to co-workers alleging possible terrorist ties," he told reporters.

"The FBI thoroughly investigated the matter including interviews with witnesses, physical surveillance and records checks.

"In the course of the investigation Mateen was interviewed twice. Ultimately we were unable to verify the substance of his comments and the investigation was closed."

Later, he was interviewed by agents investigating his contacts with Moner Mohammad Abusalha, a fellow Floridian and the first US citizen to carry out a suicide bombing in Syria.

"We determined the contact was minimal and did not constitute a substantive relationship or a threat at that time," Hopper told reporters.

Asked how Mateen had been able to hold a Florida gun license and to legally purchase two guns shortly before the attack, Hopper said simply that the investigation into his supposed radical ties had been "inconclusive."

"It has been reported that Mateen made calls to 911 this morning in which he stated his allegiance to the Islamic State," he said.
"We're looking into any and all connections both domestic and international."

Speaking at the White House, President Barack Obama called the attack "an act of terror and an act of hate," and said the FBI would spare no effort to determine whether the suspect had been inspired by any extremist group.

The two officials familiar with the investigation said a leading theory was that the suspect somehow was inspired by Islamist militants.

One official said early information, the nature of which he did not disclose, indicated that the shooter was motivated by a mixture of "hate" and religion.
huh? What the heck? People don't murder others because they love them? And Islamist ONLY TERROIZE and MURDER on a daily basis worldwide precisely because of their religion, ahem cult. (emphasis mine)
US Representative Adam Schiff of California, the senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said in a statement issued after a briefing on the massacre that several factors indicated the attack was an Islamic State-inspired "act of terrorism."

He noted that the incident occurred during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, that Islamic State had called for attacks during that period, the target was an LGBT nightclub and it was hit during Gay Pride weekend.

Schiff said that, if accurate, "according to local law enforcement the shooter declared his allegiance to ISIS (Islamic State)."

An audio message purportedly issued last month by the spokesman of Islamic State called on followers to launch attacks in the United States and Europe during Ramadan, which began on June 5 in the United States.

"Ramadan, the month of conquest and jihad. Get prepared, be ready ... to make it a month of calamity everywhere for the non-believers ... especially for the fighters and supporters of the caliphate in Europe and America," said the statement allegedly made by Abu Muhammad al-Adnani and distributed over Twitter accounts usually associated with Islamic State.

"The smallest action you do in their heartland is better and more enduring to us than what you would if you were with us. If one of you hoped to reach the Islamic State, we wish we were in your place to punish the Crusaders day and night," said the audio clip, the authenticity of which could not be verified.

WEST PALM BEACH (CBS12) — A pro-Isis group has released a hit list with the names of more than 8,000 people mostly Americans.

More than 600-people live in Florida, and one security expert believes that many of those targeted live in Palm Beach County and on the Treasure Coast.

The "United Cyber Caliphate" that hacked U.S. Central Command, 54,000 Twitter accounts and threatened President Barack Obama is the same pro-Isis group that's reportedly created a "kill list" with the names, addresses and emails of thousands of civilian Americans.

Reports of the list came to light online when Vocativ reported the list was shared via the encrypted app, Telegram, and called on supporters to kill.

Former FBI agent-turned lawyer Stuart Kaplan says the threat is especially alarming, because the people on this list are civilians who don't have the security necessary to protect themselves.

"It's going to create some hysteria," he said.

Kaplan believes civilians from our community are on the list.

"I would suspect a head of a hospital or, perhaps, a local community leader. Those are the individuals that may appear on the list--or just a local banker or local school teacher--someone who, for some reason, was in the public eye."

Kaplan is concerned the list will inspire "lone wolf" style attacks.

"If in fact a sympathizer gets ahold of this list and is readily able to identify you as being his neighbor and, then, decides (because they're a sympathizer) to go out and do something horrific to you, there is no way to calculate the potential or to prevent that."

The list has not yet been made public.

We reached out to the FBI, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and Martin County Sheriff's Office to see how credible they view the threat and what action they might be taking.

We are awaiting their response.

According to the Martin County Sheriffs office, the FBI is aware of this and the agency will work closely with the Joint-Terrorism Task Force to keep citizens safe.

TBN Co-Founder Jan Crouch Passed Away Suddenly Last Week On May 31, 2016. ❤😢

Janice Wendell Bethany "Jan" Crouch

I was truly shocked and heartbroken when I heard the news about Jan Crouch passing away this past week. I had no idea she was sick. My heart goes out to the Crouch family and the TBN family. I mourned for this sweet lady with a heart of gold. I too will greatly miss you and your beautiful spirit.

Below I've shared what I wrote when Paul Crouch, Sr. passed away. I explain why both Paul and Jan Crouch mean so much to me.
Paul Franklin Crouch, Sr.
(March 30, 1934 – November 30, 2013)
crying buckets smiley Pictures, Images and Photos
It was Monday morning at 3:00am when I first learned that Paul Crouch passed away. I was getting ready for work and while watching TBN, they briefly flashed a Paul Crouch memoriam. I couldn't believe my eyes. This couldn't be true. I knew he was sick, but heard that he was recovering. I had to hustle to be at work by 5:30am. I worked 14 hour days on Monday and Tuesday. I took Wednesday off to rest. I needed to hear God's Word. I turned the channel to TBN and a pastor was honoring Paul Crouch and within seconds said Dr. Paul Crouch passed away on Saturday November 30th. I was floored and deeply saddened. Not only did he confirm that Paul Crouch passed away, but he went to be with the Lord on my 44th birthday. I will never forget this day.

My heart goes out to the Crouch family and all of their close TBN family of friends. I can't thank Paul and Jan Crouch enough for having the courage to follow the vision God put in their heart with complete trust in Him for all of the world to benefit from.

In early 2003, I was going through a lot of drastic changes and challenges in my life. I found myself crying out to God for help. I didn't feel comfortable going to a church. But wanted so much to hear from God. One late night in tears, God led me to the TBN channel and answered me through a message a pastor was giving. I began watching TBN regularly hungry to learn more. Just when my situation was turning around in August 2003, my cat and best friend of 13 years passed away. My heart was so broken, I cried myself to sleep every night and begged God to heal my broken heart. In September 2003 during my sleep I was literally touched by the hand of God. There I was crying out to God every night and God sent me Jesus (Yahshua) who instantly healed my broken heart with His presence. I woke up drenched in tears. I found out years later that Jesus said, "Anyone who has seen me, has seen the father." My spiritual transformational journey began that night. At that time, I was completing my senior year in college going full-time. As I look back, I know God supernaturally carried me that entire year of crazy schedules, school work, papers and exams. I hardly slept and had no social life. I finally graduated in September 2004 after 10 years of painstaking hard work. I heard a message by a pastor recently on TBN where he said, when the devil tells you "checkmate", God and all of heaven steps in front of you and says, "I don't think so." I can confirm this to be true. ♥

After I graduated, I continued to watch TBN regularly. I seriously needed to hear God's Word. My mom would come to visit on the weekends and I would be watching TBN. Within an hour of her being in my home, she would go ballistic and order me to change the channel. She couldn't stand listening to God's Word. I would tell her she was visiting my home. If she didn't like it, then she could leave. My mom would leave. Every time she would come over she would yell and scream and get really evil with me. At that point, I would just kick her out of my home. I never imposed what I was going through with her. I never told her what to believe. What I was experiencing was deeply personal. Here she was visiting my home and attacking me because she didn't like what I was watching... TBN. I stood my ground. It was my spiritual journey, not hers. God had touched me and began changing me from the inside out. I love my mom and didn't want to cut her out of my life. But knew I wasn't the one to change her. Only God could do that. So I prayed every night for her that God would touch her too.

I think it was about not until 2006 after my dearly beloved grandmother had passed away that my mom wanted to get to know God. She began to watch Joel Osteen on TBN on her own at her home. Like I said, I never imposed myself on her. I was doing my thing walking and talking with the Lord. Then out of the blue in 2010, she shocked me when she asked if I could buy tickets for us to go and see Joel Osteen in person at Dodger Stadium. I happily said yes of course. It was an exciting day for both of us. At the end of Joel Osteen's sermon he asked everyone in the audience who would like to give their life to the Lord to please stand up and say a prayer with him. I wasn't expecting anything. Suddenly my mom stood up and gave her life to the Lord that night. I cried so hard, thanked God and gave her a great big hug after she was done. We were both in tears. That was the best gift God could have given me. ♥

I shared my brief story with you to emphasize how important TBN has been to me. TBN is on 24/7 and is always there when I need a word from God. My home is my sanctuary and TBN is my virtual church.

Thank you Paul Crouch for providing an outlet for God to touch my heart and save my soul. I love you and I will deeply miss you. ♥

Faith Is Never Blind: – Bartimaeus - “The Vision and Boldness to Ask the Impossible” Beautiful Message...♥

written by Pastor James
[source: Rose City Park Church]

It’s an ordinary story – a familiar setting. Jesus is walking out of the city of Jericho and a man asks for Mercy – He stops – calling the man. The beggar comes and in compassion he heals him. So what is the big deal – How can this story assist me in my walk with God?

Well – let’s open our minds … allow the Spirit to guide and listen without judgment or bias. May I ask that you join me in prayer?

PRAYER – “Gracious Lord of Love – be with us as we open Your Word – that our hearts may discover new means to find depth in our relationship with you. Speak to every heart that is searching for answers this morning … and unbind those hearts that feel they need no answers. Open our soulful eyes, we pray. In Christ’s name, Amen.”

JERICHO – 17 miles NE of Jerusalem is the city of Jericho. The Hebrew name is Ruach – meaning “City of Fragrance.” You remember the story of the “Walls of Jericho” – how that Joshua with his priests and people to march around the city for seven days – and on the seventh – marching around it seven times – the trumpets blew and the people shouted and the walls fell flat – because of a thing called faith – that dwelled within the hearts of Israel.

WALLS OF JERICHO – Fourteen centuries later – the city was still a hub of trade. It was an oasis in the middle of a wilderness. In fact tradition has it that when Jesus went into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan – it was in the dessert near to Jericho. The road to Jerusalem was – and still is quite dangerous. Rocks and crags jut our along the way – so that (as in the Good Samaritan story) there was an opportunity for robbers to take advantage of travelers along that road.

The story takes place in the spring – during the third year of Jesus’ ministry – in fact he is going to Jerusalem to face his foes – one of them being death. Now, Jesus is leaving Jericho for Jerusalem … there is an exquisite fragrance in the air from the balsam and rose gardens. The people are filled with joy – not only in the coming festival in the Holy City of Passover – but the arrival of this folk hero – a man called Jesus of Nazareth. The road out of Jerusalem was clogged with many people – lots of noise – laughter, talking, questions. The large gate is before him and over to the side as with most communities are the beggars of the city – asking for alms. As today, these are the “Invisible People.” Just ignore them – and go about your business. But today there arose a commotion. A man is yelling at the tops of his lungs. It is a familiar beggar’s face – the son of Timaeus – in fact that is his name
Bar-Timaeus.

BAR-TIMAEUS – You probably have heard of family names like that of Thomason or Smithson – this was the son of Timaeus … or Bar-Timaeus. We know that at one time he could see – but now begged for a living because he was blind. Most Hebrew people would consider that he was blind because of some sin he or his parents had committed. Those who were blind were considered the edge or fringe of society. Without sight, they could not read, were dependant upon others for food, for direction, or sustenance. Bartimaeus no doubt had heard of this Man of Nazareth – of his amazing teachings and the miraculous miracles. The affirmation of a certain Messiah was the fact that the lame would walk and the blind would see – the deaf will hear – and that good news would be proclaimed to the poor. A life changing possibility to Bartimaues – the reception of sight again. I have been pondering which might be worse: someone born blind or one who had lost his sight. Presently I have concluded that to have known the gift of amazing vision and lost it is a greater tragedy. Bartimaeus could not travel – the one who might be able to grant his deepest desire was here … on his street at his gate. To let this opportunity pass was not an option. So with all of his might he yelled and waved his arms, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Over and over again. The Pharisees and city leaders glanced with distain at the dirty beggar man and motioned with their heads that someone should quiet this mad man. He was an embarrassment to the city. But no matter how his friends and officials tried to quell his calls, he yelled even louder. He was not going to let this possibility pass him by.

Did you ever let an opportunity pass? What keeps us from taking hold of opportunities? Fears of discouragement? Disappointment? Opposition? In the South it is often named, “Receiving a Woopin’ from the Lord.” // But Bartimaeus who had nothing – but faith and foolishness brought forth his rallying prayer before this man, the Son of God. Another question that comes to mind was – “Why discourage and try to quell the hopes and possibilities of this pitiful soul? Even those who begged along side of Bartimaeus tried to quiet him in his pleas.

QUESTION: Do we ever try to douse seekers of God? Or discourage those who try to discover God in unconventional ways?

Remember: the disciples rebuked the children – and Jesus said, “Forbid them not to come.” Simon the Pharisee condemned the sinful woman – and Jesus let her bath his feet with her tears. Judas blamed the waste of ointment – but Jesus said, “She has done a good work.” We should never forget that God is always open to our pleas and prayers for help and love. No?

And one more matter … do you notice the difference in the crowd and Bartimaeus? They called this celebrity “Jesus of Nazareth.” The son of Timaeus crowned him with the titles, “Son of David” and “Rabonnai” – “My Master.” The title was reserved for the Redeemer – the Messiah – Son of the Almighty God. Can you palatably feel the faith of Bartimaeus? Do you hear his prayer – his desperate cry for help … for a miracle … for a blessing?

“JESUS OF NAZARETH” – “SON OF DAVID” – Back to the story …. It’s at this point in the story that an amazing thing happened. The parade stopped – because Jesus himself stood still to look with a smile at Bartimaeus. // What does it mean for someone to stop and give their full attention to what you are saying?

JESUS STOPPED – To the crowd he said, Call him. Look at Bartimaeus – his mouth wide open – in unbelief. His friends nudged him and said, “Don’t just sit there – Get up. Jesus is calling for you!!” Like a Jack out the Box – Bartimaeus – sprung up … in fact the Greek meaning for the word is “sprung up.” He threw of his outer cloak and made his way toward the voice of Jesus. Jesus grasps his hands to stabilize and assure him that his destination has been reached. Then a very strange question came from Jesus, “What do you want me to do for you?” It is apparent what Bartimaeus’ needs – why ask such obvious question? Yet in reality, when reading the question from the Greeek, the question sounds like a servant who asks his Master what he might need after being summoned. “What can I do for you?”

“What do you want me to do for you?” – Don’t you see – he honors this man as an image of God – and is empowering him with the right to respond as he sees fit. Jesus embraces us all as equals. AMAZING! We give Bartimaeus pity – Jesus gives him preference. With the hope of the ages – Bartimaeus responds, “My Master, I want to see again.” In almost a whisper - Jesus says, “Then Go – your faith has healed you.” And as he turned – light came into Bartimaeus’ life and eyes. Imagine: Bartimaeus’ - in darkness - had cried to the Light of the world and had received not only vision – but confirmation that he was a loved child of God! Can you think of any sight more glorious than after being blind for years and years – and the first sight to see was the Son of God smiling at you? Unbelievable!

The next scene is remarkable. Jesus turns to head toward Jerusalem – the point of his crucifixion and around him we see a dancing Bartimaeus – who became a traveling companion to Christ … as he leaves his daily cup of coins and his old beggars wrap with the other fragments of his old life.

As we bring the story home – to our lives and our community. Some of the points are obvious:
  • Bartimaeus didn’t have much – but he possessed many qualities that the Lord seeks in God’s children: passion, perseverance, humility, persistence, the courage to seize an opportunity, and most of all – faith in God’s ability to work through us.
  • Jesus calls us out of spiritual darkness into God’s Marvelous Light!
  • Bartimaeus’ prayer sprang from a soul with need – but it was more than words – for heart and faith are the primary ingredients of our petitions to the Father.
  • Sometimes like Bartimaeus we need to cast off every weight that encumbers us and run the race of life that is set before us. The question is: What is your weight?
  • “But God would never pick me” – no talents – no gifts. It is a fact that God usually selects the most unlikely. Bartimaeus wasn’t beautiful – in man’s eyes he was pitiful – socially, physically, and spiritually. But there are beauties to God that reach beyond vision and appearance …. Honesty, purity, holiness, kindness and compassion … are just a few.
Bartimaeus asked for mercy – he knew that Christ had come to Jericho to bring a piece of God …. a fact he had a strong conviction in. In the entire crowd – it is amazing that he had the eternal vision that connected himself with Jesus. If we only could be that faithful – and reach beyond ourselves – to be fools for all of God’s children!

MERCY … FAITH … SIGHT

Opportunities. Bartimaeus used his opportunity – not only to receive sight – but to find God. opportunities are gifts from God – to help us demonstrate His care and compassion to our world. BUT JESUS DOESN’T PASS OUR WAY … You have eyes, but do not see.

“As you do for the least of these – you do unto me.” The hungry the orphaned the imprisoned …. If you are in tuned to the spirit – If you are connected with God you will feel Christ passing as you sing a hymn … or pray – or read God’s Word – or in a kindness received – or in the sharing of Communion. Blindness is the result of not seeing things that are apparent. May we stop looking with our eyes and begin to see with our hearts and souls.

Jesus is passing. “But James, I don’t see him.” Neither did Bartimaeus. Neither did the Lambs who were invited into heaven. When did we see you hungry – or thirsty – or naked? And Christ will say unto them. “As you did unto the least of these my brethren – you did unto me.”

Jesus Christ is passing – HOW WILL YOU RESPOND?

Faith Has Vision

"Where there is no vision, the people perish" [Proverbs 29:18]

Notice that God Himself has told us that without a vision, people perish. We might say it like this: If the people have no vision of WHO they are in Christ, and WHAT they have in Him they will never obtain the fullness of all that Christ purchased for us on the cross.

Scripture Reference:

"Where there is no vision, the people perish" [Proverbs 29:18]

The Importance of Seeing:

"When that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. For now we SEE through a glass, dimly; but then (we will SEE) face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. [1Cor. 13:10,12]

I want you to notice the phrase: "When that which is perfect is come".

In the original text the word translated "perfect" comes from the Greek word "telios' - and it means "Completeness, of full age or MATURE, perfect".

The intent of this passage is to make us understand that when as we grow in our knowledge of God, our ability to SEE what Christ accomplished for US on the cross, what we HAVE in Him, and WHO we ARE becomes clearer and clearer. The promise is that even though we may see these things dimly, or as the KJV says "darkly", as we become more MATURE in our relationship with God our SEEING will become clearer also.

Our "VISION" of who Christ IS, WHAT He has accomplished, who WE are, and what we HAVE in Him is essential to a victorious walk on this earth. Vision is vital to our success as Christians as we fight to overcome the trials of this world and the attacks of the enemy.

Vision Enables us to SEE the Invisible:

"While we look not at the things which are seen, but (we look at) at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." [2Cor 4:18]

Notice that we are instructed in the Word of God to look at those things which CANNOT be seen! How does one do that? Answer: Vision.

Naturally, we understand that when the God speaks to us of vision, He is not talking about 'natural" things, such as the trees, the grass, the clouds, etc - but rather He speaks of SPIRITUAL things: By spiritual things I mean: Things that occur, or have occurred in the spirit realm such as:

1] We are 'new creations' in Christ [2 Cor. 5:17]
2] Christ took our sickness and carried our pain on the cross [Isaiah 53:4-5]
3] God Has supplied ALL our Needs thru His riches in Glory [Phil 4:19]
4] Etc.

Vision is the Means Whereby:

1] We can see that which is not visible
2] We can see what we desire for ourselves in our walk with God
3] We can see what God desires for us
4] We can see who we are in Christ & what we HAVE in Him.

How Do We See These Things?

What is the means that God has provided where we as Christians can actually look into the spirit and SEE the things that He has told us to look at? Most Christians do not realize that God has provided TWO ways in which this can be done.

1] The Word of God:

"...the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." [John 6:63]

"Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who SEES his face in a MIRROR [24] and, after SEEING himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. [25] But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom (the Word of God), and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does." [James 1:23-25]

John 6:63 says that the Word of God is Spirit.

By looking in the word of God we can literally SEE into the Spirit, and see ourselves as God sees us. We can see WHO we are, what we have, and what Christ accomplished for us. And, providing we don't FORGET what we SEE in the Word when we put it down, but rather continue in it, we will be blessed in whatever we do!

2] Direct Revelation of the Holy Spirit:

"But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will show you what is yet to come."
[John 16:13]

The Holy Spirit will at times give us detailed information and instruction as to what God has ordained for us, and His future plans for us individually and as members of the Body of Christ. According to John 16:13, He will literally SHOW us things to come. In other words, the Spirit of God enables us to SEE into the future! This promise is not limited to those who stand in the office of the prophet, but every Christian!

Both of these methods are vital to the Christian if we are to SEE in greater detail those things which the Lord has provided us and ordained for us - and until we do, it is certain that we will never OBTAIN these things. We must SEE them FIRST if we are to HAVE them: "Where there is no vision, the people perish." [Proverbs 29:18]

We Must See It For Ourselves:
Most Christians do not understand the importance of SEEING ourselves as God see us! The reason for this is because the way we SEE ourselves is the way we THINK about ourselves - and the Lord has said in His Word: "...For as a man thinks in his heart - so he is!" [Proverbs 23:7]

If we THINK about ourselves in a way other than what God has SAID about us - then we will not see the blessing manifested. We will instead see what we think! This is one reason why so many of God's children are sick, defeated, beaten down, failing, broke, in debt, unsuccessful, confused, oppressed and depressed.

We are told NOT to look at what is "seen" - but rather to keep our eyes on what is NOT seen (to Have Vision). Yet, everyday Christians are looking at the circumstances and allowing what they see to determine who they are and what they have, instead of believing what God has SAID in His Word about it.

We MUST take our eyes off the present situation, and using our VISION - look at the circumstances with an eye towards what is NOT seen. We must see ourselves: Healed and healthy, strong and free, blessed, delivered and redeemed!

USE YOUR VISION:

We MUST use our spiritual eyes to look into the spirit realm and see ourselves as God sees us - and then accept His Word as truth - believe it - receive it by faith - and then begin to SPEAK it as instructed:

How Does God See us:
• God sees us Righteous: In right-standing with God : [2 Cor. 5:21]

• God sees us Healed and Healthy: [1 Peter 2:24 • Matt 8:17 • Ps 91:7-10 • Isaiah 53:1-5]

• God sees us Delivered from every situation, affliction, oppression, depression and attack of the enemy: [Col. 1: 12-14]

• God sees us Successful: well supplied, prosperous, a lender not a borrower, well able to contribute to every good work: [Deut 28 • Prov. 10:22 • 2 Cor. 9:8]

• God sees us in a Position of Authority: Head and not the tail / Above only and not beneath / More than a conqueror / Triumphant and Victorious [Deut 28 1-14 • Rom 8:37 • 2Cor 2:14 • 1Cor 15:57 • 1Jn 5:4]

Remember: As a Man Thinks In His Heart: So He Is: [Proverbs 23:7]

How Do You SEE Yourself?
Keep in mind that we will always SEE ourselves the way we THINK about ourselves?

• Do you SEE yourself healed and healthy?
• Do you see yourself righteous: In right-standing with God?
• Do you see yourself strong?
• Do you see yourself delivered from whatever has been afflicting you?
• Do you see yourself Successful, well provided for with more than enough?
• Do you see yourself in a position of authority?

If not, it is only because you have chosen to look at the natural circumstances instead using your vision to SEE into the Spirit realm and look at what Christ has already accomplished FOR you!

Get a Vision:

If we are ever to obtain that Which Christ died for, and paid for with His own blood - then we MUST have VISION to SEE it first!

Vision is the means whereby God empowers us to bring into manifestation that which HE has ordained for us by:

1] By Placing it in our heart thru His WORD or by His Spirit
2] Empowering us to bring it forth into the natural realm thru OUR words spoken in faith.

Unless that vision is established in us as a reality and confirmed by faith (Heb 11:1) - we will never see it - It will never come to pass in our life. "That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus." [Philemon 1:6]

Notice that it is only when we ACKNOWLEDGE what is already in us (in our SPIRITS) that our faith becomes EFFECTIVE and brings forth the manifestation of the promise.

The Holy Spirit Is A Gift To You Of God The Father And God The Son. You Do Not Have To Earn It. Just Trust And Believe.

[source: Systematic Christianity]

There are two important points in this section. The first is that the Spirit is a gift, given freely. All that is necessary is for us to allow him in. The second point is that he is the gift of both God the Father and God the Son. Jesus promised that after his departure, he and God the Father would send the Holy Spirit to assist the apostles in their mission to spread the message of God. The Holy Spirit is also referred to as the Advocate or the Spirit of truth.

On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and exclaimed, "Let anyone who thirsts come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture says:

'Rivers of living water will flow from within him.'"

He said this in reference to the Spirit that those who came to believe in him were to receive. There was, of course, no Spirit yet, because Jesus had not yet been glorified. (Jn 7:37-39)

"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you always, the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it. But you know it, because it remains with you, and will be in you." (Jn 14:16-17)

"When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth that proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning." (Jn 15:26-27)

And when he said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit." (Jn 20:22)

In John, the Holy Spirit is given to the apostles shortly after the resurrection. In Luke-Acts, the Holy Spirit was promised shortly after the resurrection, but is not actually given until fifty days after the resurrection, at the event that we call Pentecost. Both writers agree, however, about what the Spirit is, and what he represents.

You are witnesses of these things. And [behold] I am sending the promise of my Father upon you; but stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high." (Lk 24:48-49)

In the first book, Theophilus, I dealt with all that Jesus did and taught until the day he was taken up, after giving instructions through the holy Spirit to the apostles whom he had chosen. He presented himself alive to them by many proofs after he had suffered, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. While meeting with them, he enjoined them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for "the promise of the Father about which you have heard me seek; for John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the holy Spirit." ...

"But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:1-5,8)

When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.

Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven staying in Jerusalem. At this sound, they gathered in a large crowd, but they were confused because each one heard them speaking in his own language. They were astounded, and in amazement they asked, "Are not all these people who are speaking Galileans? Then how does each of us hear them in his own native language?" (Acts 2:1-8)

The gift of the Holy Spirit did not end with the apostles. God continues to give out the Holy Spirit as the church grows in Acts.

While Peter was still speaking these things, the holy Spirit fell upon all who were listening to the word. The circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the holy Spirit should have been poured out on the Gentiles also, for they could hear them speaking in tongues and glorifying God. Then Peter responded, "Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people, who have received the holy Spirit even as we have?" (Acts 10:44-47)

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior of the country and came to Ephesus where he found some disciples. He said to them, "Did you receive the holy Spirit when you became believers?" They answered him, "We have never even heard that there is a holy Spirit." He said, "How were you baptized?" They replied, "With the baptism of John." Paul then said, "John baptized with a baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus." When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul laid [his] hands on them, the holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. Altogether there were about twelve men. (Acts 19:1-7)

Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)

"We are witnesses of these things, as is the holy Spirit that God has given to those who obey him." [Peter is speaking] (Acts 5:32)

Now when the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent them Peter and John, who went down and prayed for them, that they might receive the holy Spirit, for it had not yet fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them and they received the holy Spirit.

When Simon saw that the Spirit was conferred by the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money and said, "Give me this power too, so that anyone upon whom I lay my hands may receive the holy Spirit." But Peter said to him, "May your money perish with you, because you thought that you could buy the gift of God with money. You have no share or lot in this matter, for your heart is not upright before God. Repent of this wickedness of yours and pray to the Lord that, if possible, your intention may be forgiven. For I see that you are filled with bitter gall and are in the bonds of iniquity." Simon said in reply, "Pray for me to the Lord, that nothing of what you have said may come upon me." So when they had testified and proclaimed the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem and preached the good news to many Samaritan villages. (Acts 8:14-25)

"As I [Peter] began to speak, the holy Spirit fell upon them as it had upon us at the beginning, and I remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said, 'John baptized with water but you will be baptized with the holy Spirit.'" (Acts 11:15-16)

And God, who knows the heart, bore witness by granting them the holy Spirit just as he did us. (Acts 15:8)

The Holy Spirit is a gift of God to you, not just some long-dead prophets, or some far-off saints.

When you feel that you are not up to the task of living the faith, God will give you what you need, if you but ask and allow him to guide you. What you need is the Spirit, who will fill you from within, to make you strong and bring you home.

When you feel empty, ask for the Holy Spirit, and he will fill you.

When you lose sight of truth, ask for the Holy Spirit, and he will guide you.

When you are weak and afraid, ask for the Holy Spirit, and he will give you power.

It is commonly said that God is too distant, too other-worldly for us to be near him. He has shown us that this is not the case. He loves you so, and desires you so, that he fills you from the inside and gives you true life.

Jesus The Word Of God Is The Way To Father In Heaven; Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit Also Known As The Advocate, The Comforter, And The Spirit Of Truth.

[source: Biblegateway]

Jesus, the Way to the Father

1 Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.

2 In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places (homes). If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.

3 And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

4 And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.

5 Thomas said to Him, Lord, we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?

6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

7 If you had known Me [had learned to recognize Me], you would also have known My Father. From now on, you know Him and have seen Him.

8 Philip said to Him, Lord, show us the Father [cause us to see the Father—that is all we ask]; then we shall be satisfied.

9 Jesus replied, Have I been with all of you for so long a time, and do you not recognize and know Me yet, Philip? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say then, Show us the Father?

10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).

11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince you.]

12 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, if anyone steadfastly believes in Me, he will himself be able to do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these, because I go to the Father.

13 And I will do [I Myself will grant] whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am], so that the Father may be glorified and extolled in (through) the Son.

14 [Yes] I will grant [I Myself will do for you] whatever you shall ask in My Name [as presenting all that I Am].

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is also known as the Advocate, the Comforter, the Spirit of Truth who Jesus sends to live inside of us, inside our spirit. Mohammad is NOT the Advocate Jesus referred to as the Islamist have lied about and changed what was written in the Bible over 500 YEARS BEFORE Mohammad was even born. Mohammad had the Bible translated, then altered everything in the Bible and called it the Quran. The first half of the Christian Bible is the Jewish Torah, we call it the Old Testament (before Jesus Christ). The second half of the Christian Bible is called the New Testament (during and after Jesus Christ).

Jesus Christ (Yahshua Ha-Mashiach) is the Living Breathing WORD of God and the Holy Spirit is the BREATH of God. (emphasis mine)
15 If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands.

16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—

17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

18 I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, desolate, bereaved, forlorn, helpless]; I will come [back] to you.

19 Just a little while now, and the world will not see Me any more, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also.

20 At that time [when that day comes] you will know [for yourselves] that I am in My Father, and you [are] in Me, and I [am] in you.

21 The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.]

22 Judas, not Iscariot, asked Him, Lord, how is it that You will reveal Yourself [make Yourself real] to us and not to the world?

23 Jesus answered, If a person [really] loves Me, he will keep My word [obey My teaching]; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him.

24 Anyone who does not [really] love Me does not observe and obey My teaching. And the teaching which you hear and heed is not Mine, but [comes] from the Father Who sent Me.

25 I have told you these things while I am still with you.

26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

28 You heard Me tell you, I am going away and I am coming [back] to you. If you [really] loved Me, you would have been glad, because I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater and mightier than I am.

29 And now I have told you [this] before it occurs, so that when it does take place you may believe and have faith in and rely on Me.

30 I will not talk with you much more, for the evil prince, ruler of the world (mundane) is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]

31 But [Satan is coming and] I do as the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know (be convinced) that I love the Father and that I do only what the Father has instructed Me to do. [I act in full agreement with His orders.] Rise, let us go away from here.
