USA: 28yo Man Stabbed A 41yo Mother And 43yo Father To Death While Hiking At Devil's Den In Arkansas With The 2 Daughter's Ages 7 And 9 Who Ran To Safety. Killer Is A 5th Grade Teacher.

🚨NO WHITE SUPREMACISTS INVOLVED🚨

🚨NO ISLAMIC JIHADISTS INVOLVED🚨
Arkansas authorities are saying they don't suspect any connection between the killer and the 2 victims. That makes me wonder if the suspect is a serial killer? I mean that was pretty daring targeting the family of four at a State Park in broad daylight on a busy weekend with a knife no less. Authorities should look into a connection to the suspect and unsolved murder cases in Oklahoma where he moved from.

He's a clean cut school teacher who secretly murders people to get off and loves the fact that no one would ever suspect him. He is like Jekyll and Hyde. He went to the State Park looking scruffy and authorities found him days later at a barber shop getting cleaned up. I bet you he has left a long trail of dead bodies in Oklahoma and whereever else he has lived. This wasn't a random killing. The suspect went to Devil's Den State Park with the intention of killing people and he chose to target and stalk this happy family of four. (emphasis mine)

WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — A suspect has been arrested after a husband and wife were killed while hiking at Devil's Den with their children on Saturday, July 26.

The victims were identified on Sunday as Clinton David Brink, 41, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41. Officials said the couple was hiking with their two daughters when they were attacked on Saturday afternoon. The two girls, who are 7 and 9, were reportedly not injured and are safe with family members.

Arkansas State Police (ASP) said that Andrew James McGann, a 28-year-old man from Springdale, was taken into custody at a Springdale barber shop at 4:57 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, five days after the fatal attack. He faces two capital murder charges.

ASP Maj. Stacie Rhoads told 5NEWS it does not appear the suspect had a connection to the victims.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders joined Secretary of the Department of Public Safety Col. Mike Hagar and Secretary of the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism Shea Lewis at the ASP Troop L Headquarters in Lowell on Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. to discuss the investigation.

Sanders said something like this should never happen, and she hopes the entire state will wrap its arms around the Brink family.

The governor said calling the Brink family was one of the hardest things she's had to do, and thanked law enforcement for acting swiftly.

"If you commit a violent, senseless act here in our state our law enforcement will hunt you down and bring you to justice," Sanders said.

While an arrest has been confirmed, details leading up to the arrest and how law enforcement located McGann at the barber shop are still unknown.

Rhoads said they're still exploring motive and don't want to release information prematurely, with a focus on obtaining a conviction.

Rhoads said McGann had recently moved to Arkansas from Oklahoma and had gotten a job at a local school.

Broken Arrow Public Schools in Oklahoma confirmed in a statement to CBS affiliate KOTV that McGann was a teacher in the district during the 2023-24 school year:

"The man who was arrested in Arkansas for the murders at Devils Den State Park was a teacher for Broken Arrow Public Schools during the 23/24 school year. He was a 5th grade teacher at Spring Creek Elementary during the 23/24 school year and left of his own accord to work out of state. As with all employees hired by the district, he was subjected to and passed the legally required background checks prior to being hired. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family affected by this unimaginable act of violence."

The ASP captain also shared the public was "instrumental" in McGann's capture, stating that tips came in from across the country.

"We have to have that public assistance, and when we opened up that tipline we were able to see the public was interested in helping us," Rhoads said.

Sanders added that there's still a long road ahead of grief for the Brink family, which has asked for privacy.

"The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time as they grieve and learn how to navigate this new reality," the Brink family said in a statement provided to CNN. "They ask that if anyone has any information at all that will help the investigation, to please contact the proper authorities immediately. Clinton and Cristen died heroes, protecting their little girls and they deserve justice. They will forever live on in all of our hearts."

The couple recently moved to Prairie Grove from another state, police said. Prairie Grove Mayor David Faulk couldn't confirm much about the couple, but he did say the Brinks started their water service on July 16, 2025, just 10 days before the attack.

Hiland Dairy confirmed to the Associated Press that Clinton had transferred from its parent company, Prairie Farms Dairy. He was working at the South Dakota location before moving to Arkansas. The Associated Press reported that Clinton was scheduled to start his new job delivering milk in the Fayetteville area on July 28..

The manhunt for the suspect had been ongoing for five days, unsettling local residents and drawing widespread concern.

A call came into Washington County a little bit before 2:30 p.m., reporting a possible assault, according to police scanner audio obtained by 5NEWS.

"We found the victims down here," responders are heard saying in the audio. "They're on the lower Devil's Den trails where I've got two, two bodies."

5NEWS first received a tip about a large police presence and investigation at Devil's Den around 4:30 p.m. on July 26. We immediately reached out to law enforcement, including the Washington County Sheriff's Office and ASP, but were repeatedly redirected or offered no information.

While on the scene, 5NEWS reporter Beau Russell was told to leave by state troopers, and they too did not provide information on the reason for the law enforcement presence. At 8:40 p.m., six hours after being notified, ASP released a statement about a manhunt for the suspect.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — More details about the Bakersfield native couple killed on a hiking trail in Arkansas on Saturday as police continue to search for the suspect.

Clinton Brink, 43, attended Foothill High School, while across town, Cristen “Trent” Brink, 41, was a standout volleyball player at Liberty High School.

Trent, before married, became an All-American at California State University, San Bernardino. According to her former Head Coach, Kim Cherniss said she left behind a legacy for future Yotes to look up to.

“It's Trent, everyone knows,” said Coach Cherniss. “I've had so many alums who played either right before her or right after her reach out to me, and it would just because they know her, they know who she is, they know what she meant to the program.”

While Clinton was in the transition of transferring jobs, the human resources department for Hiland Dairy in Fayetteville, Arkansas, confirmed to Eyewitness News that he was an employee of the family industry, Prairie Farms in South Dakota, and applied to work in Fayetteville.

It's unknown at this time, but on July 21, after the family moved to Prairie Grove, Clinton turned down the offer at Hiland Dairy.

On July 26, just 30 minutes away from their new residence, the couple took their daughters hiking at Devil's Den State Park.

That's when Arkansas State Police say at about 2:40 p.m., they responded to a double homicide on the trail.

They said on Saturday, July 26, 2025, the couple was hiking with their two daughters, ages 7 and 9, at Devil’s Den State Park when they were attacked.

Northwest Arkansas Public Safety Channel's dispatch audio was released on Monday: "Be advised this just occurred at Devil's Den, units still en route attacked a male and a female on Devil's Den hiking trail and then took off in a small black sports car with tape over the plate."

When officers arrived, both Clinton and Cristen Brink were dead.

"There were cop cars all around there, and we were a little concerned, and we went up to the visitor center because we're trying to get some merch, some stickers, and they said that they couldn't say anything but that everything was closed for an emergency," said one Devil's Den Trail Hiker. "We then went over by it was a creek trail of some sort, and a park ranger said that they had an active scene, but she didn't say anything else."

Because it's an ongoing investigation, Arkansas State Police said details of the couple's attack are limited. They said the park is located in a remote and rural area, where the terrain is rugged, the vegetation is thick, and there is no cellphone service. Locals there could confirm the lack of cell signal.

"You feel guilty, really, for being here," said Devil's Den State Park visitor Christine Davis. "It's like you want to have fun, but you don't want to have fun because you know what's happened. You just never know. You never know. And I think the hardest part is not having cell service."

ASP issued a description of the suspect. Investigators now believe he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt with sleeves rolled up. The suspect is an unknown white man with a medium build. He was seen driving toward a park exit in a black, four-door sedan. The suspect’s vehicle may be a Mazda with a license plate covered by electrical or duct tape.

Shea Lewis, Secretary of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, issued a statement:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred at Devil’s Den State Park. Our hearts are with the victims’ loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. The safety of our visitors and staff is our highest priority, and we are working closely with Arkansas State Police and various law enforcement officials as the investigation continues.

We have increased law enforcement presence in our state parks. Our Park Rangers are fully commissioned law enforcement officers, and they are actively engaged in ensuring the safety and security of our park guests. We remain committed to supporting the ongoing investigation and to maintaining Arkansas State Parks as safe, welcoming places for all.”
Here in Bakersfield, the current Liberty High School principal, Leandra Slayton, coached Cristen Brink as they were part of the school’s first varsity volleyball team. She released a statement to Eyewitness News saying, “I am extremely sad to hear about Cristen. It is very difficult to process. She did play for me and was in the first graduating class. She still holds collegiate records in setting for the CCAA.”

As for Cristen Brink's alma mater, Cal State San Bernardino released a statement about their fellow student athlete: “We are devastated to learn of the passing of our women’s volleyball alumna Cristen (Trent) Brink. Cristen is one of the top setters in the storied history of our program, and still holds every assist record at our University. She was truly an iconic figure in our program who was loved by every single one of her teammates. Our program’s continued success over the past two decades since she graduated is a direct result of the legacy Cristen left. We send our deepest condolences to her friends and family during this unbearably difficult time.”

Her head coach, Kim Cherniss, said that she recently heard from Trent as the head coach was hoping to set up an alumni reunion. She cherishes her relationship she had with her.

“I know that she was really busy with her nursing career, and I was just so proud of her and everything that she was accomplishing,” said Coach Cherniss. “And as I look back now, of course, so that's precious to me, that we have a chance to connect a little bit, that I had some contact with her.”

A GoFundMe was made for the couple. It said, “Clinton and Cristen were loving parents to their three precious daughters. Devoted to one another, devoted to their girls, and devoted to God.”
