Everyone telling us to "get over it" regarding the Olympics opening ceremony is the problem. SAN DIMAS, California - A 44-year-old woman accused of stabbing her wife to death with a sword in San Dimas has been arrested, authorities announced.

The incident happened last Thursday in the 300 block of South Huntington Avenue, between Arrow Highway and Cienega Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Weichien Huang and her wife, Chen Chen Fei, got into an argument at their home when Huang attacked Fei with a sword.

Cell phone video obtained by Eyewitness News shows a woman carrying what appears to be a Samurai sword before deputies stop her in the middle of the street.

It was not immediately known if the woman caught on video walking with the sword was the victim or the suspect. Additional video showed her walking up to the front door of a home a few doors down with blood streaming down one arm and carrying the sword in the other.

Investigators said Fei's mother was also attacked and was listed in stable condition from injuries sustained from the assault.

The sheriff's department said she was able to get a hold of the sword and leave to get help.

Huang was arrested and booked on suspicion of murder.

The man suspected of fatally shooting five members of his family at their Alameda home this month had his arraignment delayed Monday for a second time.

Shane Killian, 54, is now expected to appear in court on Aug. 30 on an array of charges, including murder, elder abuse, firearm and domestic violence-related offenses. He is being represented by the Alameda County public defender’s office, which declined to comment on Monday’s proceedings or the reason for the postponement.

Killian was arrested at home the night of July 10, shortly after allegedly shooting five members of his family there, including two of his own children. William Andrew Killian, 6, died at the scene. Wesley James Killian, who was 1, died last week after being hospitalized in critical condition.

Other victims include the man’s wife, 36-year-old Brenda Natali Morales, and her parents — identified as Miguel Angel Carcamo Ramirez and Marta Morales Diaz.

Police responding to a call from a neighbor on the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road found Carcamo Ramirez, who had suffered a gunshot wound, outside the home. While administering aid to Carcamo Ramirez, officers found and detained Killian in the doorway of the family’s residence. The remaining victims were discovered inside with gunshot wounds.

Alameda Police Chief Nishant Joshi has said that the residence contained multiple firearms and “significant evidence,” adding that statements given by Killian’s father-in-law before his death were also being reviewed. Investigators have not released a motive.

Killian is being held without bail at Santa Rita Jail.

A 1-year-old baby who was in critical condition after allegedly being shot by his dad in Alameda last week has died, city officials said.

Last Wednesday, police arrested 54-year-old Shane Parrish Killian after he allegedly shot his wife, two children -- ages 6 and 1 -- father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Everyone, except the youngest child, died at the scene on the 400 block of Kitty Hawk Road, police said.

The baby was taken to the hospital but, “did not survive his injuries and passed away,” the city of Alameda said in a statement Monday.

Killian was in court Friday afternoon but a judge delayed his arraignment until July 22.

He is being held without bail.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - Eight men are facing charges after a six-day human trafficking operation in Hernando County.

On Thursday morning, Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis said undercover detectives posing as juveniles between 11 and 15 years old were either solicited or enticed by individuals online to engage in sexual conduct.

"They either did it through payment, prostitution-type stuff, or just casual encounters," he said.

The sheriff added that those who were arrested admitted that they engaged in conversations to have sexual conduct with the "minors" they believed they were communicating with online.

According to Neinhuis, six of the eight men arrested were from Hernando County.

He added that DoorDash driver Erick Diguadio battered an undercover detective who was staged as a decoy by grabbing her inappropriately. Diguadio was charged with human trafficking, battery on a deputy, use of a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony, attempted lewd and lascivious battery.

The other men arrested include Troy Hartman, who the sheriff said showed up in his Verizon work truck on his way to repair a cell tower, Jerry Berios, the owner of "New York’s Finest Barbershop" in Hernando County, and James Brand, a registered sex offender who Neinhuis said has prior arrests for traveling to meet a minor.

According to Neinhuis, Jarrod Alamo, another man charged during the operation, left his 2-year-old child at home with his sister-in-law to meet the "minor."

Sean Dooley, Juan Romero and Jeremy Burke were also arrested during the undercover sting.

FDLE Assistant Commissioner Lee Massie said the images and the information the investigators have to listen to during these types of cases are horrific.

"As you look at these images of these monsters and that’s exactly what they are – monsters – what we don’t have is another board over here with images of live victims and the reason we don’t have that over here on a board next to us is because of the great work they have done," Massey stated.

"When these people are in prison or in custody they cannot hurt another child," Neinhuis stated.

He added that there is no way to know what the deputies may have prevented by arresting these men during the sting.

Neinhuis said parents should be involved and pay attention to what their children are doing, especially when it comes to the internet, social media and gaming devices.

He went on to say that it’s important to know where your children are going and who they are meeting because the men arrested were going to meet undercover detectives they thought were juveniles at a public location.

WASHINGTON — Hours after a WUSA9 report about a woman's attack in Downtown D.C. over the weekend, a teen girl was arrested in connection to the assault. Now, another woman says she narrowly avoided an attack herself.

Part of the assault and attempted robbery Monday afternoon was caught on video. Kate Rios told WUSA9 two girls who looked like teenagers approached her in D.C.’s Penn Quarter.

Rios said they threw her to the ground and kicked her in the head around 12:30 p.m. near 8th and D streets, Northwest.

"I was keeping my head covered as much as I could I didn't think anybody was going to come help me," Rios said.

After WUSA9's reporting, police say they arrested a 15-year-old girl for her role in the attack and five others, including some robberies, in the span of about a day.

“I read the story and I see the video and I go, 'Oh my god, it’s the same car, it’s the same girls," said a woman who claims two teenage-aged girls hopped out of a car as she was walking near Logan Circle Monday afternoon. She did not want to give her name.

“They were giggling; they were chit chatting," she said. "They didn’t appear threatening, but something was off.”

She said the car and teenagers on foot followed her, before they got back in the car near 12th Street and Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest.

The woman told us she ran into an alley to hide.

"The car drives right past me. They see me, they put the reverse lights on," she said. "I just bolted in the opposite direction.”

DC Police reports show about 10 minutes after her escape, a woman was attacked and robbed a few blocks away – something she didn’t find out until the next day.

“And then went, 'Oh wow, I was right to feel that something was off,'" she said.

She hopes her story reminds people to be aware of their surroundings.

“If something feels off, if something feels wrong like: 'Wow this is odd that this car just stopped in the middle of the street and some people got out,' don’t wait to find out," she said.

The 15-year-old suspect made her initial appearance in Juvenile Court early Wednesday morning. She remains in custody pending her next appearance.

No other arrests in these cases have been announced.

A man who guides haunted tours at a Tennessee manor that featured scare tactics so extreme he was once the subject of an investigation is now accused of attempting to murder a woman.

Russ Alan McKamey was arrested on Friday, July 19, on charges of attempted murder, rape and domestic assault in connection with several alleged incidents last week, according to Lawrence County charging records reviewed by PEOPLE.

The alleged victim and the suspect are familiar with each other, per an arrest affidavit cited byThe Tennessean. PEOPLE is not identifying the woman or her relationship with the suspect.

McKamey was initially charged with assault, per WKRN. Online charging information shows the alleged assault took place on Thursday, July 18.

According to online records reviewed by PEOPLE, McKamey allegedly tried to kill the woman on Wednesday and assaulted her again on Thursday. He allegedly attempted to kill her again and raped her on Friday, per the online records.

The woman lost consciousness after both alleged murder attempts, the arrest affidavit states, per WKRN.

McKamey owns and operates the McKamey Manor, a haunted house attraction, which has come under scrutiny before.

In November, the Tennessee Attorney General's Office launched an investigation into the attraction following a Hulu documentary detailing allegations from participants terrorized from the tour, according to a letter from the Attorney General to McKamey shared by The Tennessean.

The letter pointed out allegations of "horrors visitors are subjected to, which includes getting dragged via heavy chains or locked into confined spaces while water pours in."

District Attorney Brent Cooper further told WKRN that a witness alleged they saw "a woman dragged behind a vehicle." Another witness reported seeing a "woman being put in a vehicle against her will," per Cooper.

WKRN previously reported that authorities had been called to the location on several occasions in the past. No charges had ever been filed against McKamey in connection with the allegations against the attraction.

According to online records, McKamey initially posted a $1,000 bond; WKRN reports, citing police, that his bond was later set to over $100,000 given the multiple charges but it wasn't immediately clear if he posted that larger bond amount.

Online charging records did not indicate a plea and PEOPLE was unable to reach his attorney.

BLAINE, Minnesota — There are new disturbing details, from a north metro family who say their daycare center betrayed them.

The Blaine Police Department says it received a report of potential child abuse from the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis last Tuesday. The hospital reported a 5-month-old child had unexplained bruising and they believed the abuse occurred at Small World Daycare Center in Blaine.

Janice and Tony Degonda don't understand why anyone would want to hurt their 5-month-old baby.

"She's bright and bubbly and loves to smile," Tony Degonda said.

In April, they enrolled her in Small World Daycare Center in Blaine. They say in May, they started to notice bruising all over her body.

After reviewing surveillance footage from the daycare, police arrested two caretakers: A 22-year-old woman from Coon Rapids and a 24-year-old woman from Andover.

The women were each charged on Friday with three counts of malicious punishment of a child and one count of third-degree assault. Two of those charges are felonies.

According to charging documents, surveillance footage shows Chloe Johnson and Elizabeth Wiemerslage violently flipping and aggressively shoving not only Degonda's daughter who is "Infant 1" in charging documents.

Detectives detailed what the video showed to the family.

"When they went to do tummy time again, she got close to the ground, and she dropped her face bounced off the mat," Janice Degonda said.

Police say that while looking at the footage, two other victims of abuse were identified.

At one point, investigators say video shows Johnson holding a cloth over another infant's mouth and nose for several seconds

Johnson admitted her behavior could have led to baby Degonda's bruising and Wiemerslage also admitted to her behavior.

Rep. Nolan West's daughter also attended this same daycare before he pulled her out earlier this year. He said he received incident reports for bruising.

"She had a really weird bruise on her back they said she rolled on a magnet," he said. "You are paying for your baby to be abused."

West says he met with investigators and showed pictures his wife took but was upset when he found out the daycare also stores footage for seven days.

West is calling for change so children can be protected from their abusers and he believes video evidence will do just that.

"Six months of retention is reasonable, if there is ever an incident keeping that for 3 years because it matches up with mandatory reporting guidelines," West said.

On Wednesday, he plans to hold a 4 p.m. news conference at Blaine City Hall, offering legislative solutions so that what happened at Small World Daycare Center doesn't happen again. He will be joined by other parents of Blaine daycare abuse victims.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, California - An elderly couple, along with their dog, were found dead Tuesday morning inside their home in San Juan Capistrano.

Orange County deputies shot the suspect, 41-year-old Joseph Brandon Gerdvil, the couple's son.

Deputies originally responded to a mobile home park in the 32000 block of Alipaz Street around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday for a domestic violence call.

According to law enforcement, they also received reports of a man covered in blood chasing the neighborhood’s maintenance worker.

"To know that our maintenance guy, Billy, was on top of it and had the heroic effort to try to catch the [suspect], that’s awesome," said Victoria Alford.

Authorities located Gerdvil on a golf cart along a bike trail near Calle Arroyo. Deputies made contact with him and a deputy-involved shooting occurred. Gerdvil was struck multiple times and taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

"He had a drug issue," said Bob Demario. "That’s why he lived there and they kept him there."

The elderly couple killed was identified as 77-year-old Ronald Walter Gerdvil and 79-year-old Antoinette Gerdvill. According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the couple and their dog were all decapitated.

Residents in the mobile home park described the neighborhood as nice and quiet.

"It’s horrifying," said Tammy Pavese. "We have a lot of families with small children that live here."

According to one neighbor, David Desmond, he saw the younger Gerdvil fighting with his father on Monday.

"Younger guy was in his face, with his finger pointing at him, in his face," said David Desmond. "I didn’t hear what they were saying, but he looked really angry and the other guy was old."

Neighbors described the family as friendly and quiet.

"The lady that lived there walked her dog all of the time in the neighborhood," said Pavese. "Everybody knew who he was."

"[They were a] very sweet couple," said Alford. "And at that age, to tragically be murdered by your own son is just tragic, period."

Law enforcement in Southern California said they discovered a horrific scene inside a home after a 41-year-old man allegedly decapitated his senior parents and the family's dog.

The suspect was shot by an Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy not long after officers responded to the bloody scene on July 10, the agency is reporting. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition and was recently booked into jail on two counts of homicide, a jail spokesperson told USA TODAY Thursday.

According to the sheriff's office, the double homicide took place in the city of San Juan Capistrano, about 10 miles southeast of Laguna Beach.

Officials identified the victims as Antoinette Gerdvil, 79, and Tonald Walter Gerdvil, 77, both of San Juan Capistrano.

They identified the suspect, their son, as 41-year-old Joseph Brandon Gerdvil.

The couple's son, according to information from investigators, lived in a double-wide mobile home with his parents, prior to their gruesome slaying.

'A horrific scene'

Just before 7:35 a.m. on July 9, 2024, deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault at the home, and located "a horrific scene which included the decapitated and mutilated bodies of Ronald and Antoinette Gerdvil.

Deputies also reported they found a decapitated dog belonging to the married couple.

Joseph Gerdvil booked into Orange County jail on homicide charges

Deputies rendered medical aid to the suspect until the Orange County Fire Authority arrived and transported him to hospital, where as of earlier this week he was in stable condition, officials said.

A sheriff's office spokesperson told USA TODAY the suspect was booked into the county jail July 13 on two counts of homicide where he remained jailed without bond Thursday.

It was not immediately known if he had obtained an attorney or when he is due in court.

Additional charges are pending in the case, officials said.

FRESNO, California — An elderly couple has died from the heat in Fresno, according to their daughter.

Check on your neighbors.

That's the message an Oregon woman wants to share after her elderly parents were found dead in their Fresno home, she says, because of the extreme heat.

Rhonda Simengaard says it felt like an oven when she walked into her parents' Southeast Fresno home.

That's why she believes both her parents died because of the triple-digit temperatures last week.

"I mean, it really is in this heat here, this heat here, it doesn't matter how old you are. I'm not 85, and I'm telling you that first night here was awful," said Simengaard.

Her mother, Shelly, and her father, Bob, lived in Fresno for over 40 years.

Shelly had dementia, and Bob never put down a cigarette.

"I mean, you have a chain smoker, and you have somebody on oxygen, and then you put them in stifling air. You know they did the best they could," she said.

But they told their daughter, who lives in Oregon, they were okay.

In fact, their swap cooler stopped working, and their portable A-C was having issues.

That's when Bob and Shelly's neighbor noticed something was wrong.

"He hadn't seen it for a couple of days, but he was calling my mom, and my mom was saying that he was sleeping, so I just don't know how long he wasn't just sleeping," said Simengaard.

Simengaard believes her dad died because of a heat-related heart attack, and her mom passed a few days later while sleeping.

The day they were found, it was 108 degrees.

While the coroner's office couldn't confirm a cause of death, Fresno police say they were called to the house and found the couple dead last Tuesday evening.

"Everybody should check on everybody. There should be no question," said Simengaard. "Just to knock on the door. Hey, you guys doing okay? Is there anything I can get to you? Most of the time it's going to be a no, but it might walk. Into that one thing where they really need you, and you can make a difference."

Right now, she's struggling to pay for her parent's funeral costs because she just had a double hip surgery, she hasn't worked for a year, and her sister died last year.

SANTA CLARA — The family of a 98-year-old woman who authorities say was fatally beaten by her roommate with a cane last year is suing their nursing home, saying staff contributed to her death by placing her with someone who had a history of serious violence against other patients.

Vera Plares died two days after the reported Dec. 13 attack at Mission Skilled Nursing and Subacute Center on Winchester Boulevard. Connie Jo Delucca, 79, is currently being held in a Santa Clara County jail on charges of felony elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon in the death, but her criminal case is on hold at least through August pending a mental competency evaluation.

Delucca was charged in June following a Santa Clara police investigation capped by forensic testing on her cane that found both her and Plares’ DNA on it, contributing to the allegation that Delucca hit Plares on the head repeatedly while both women were in bed.

The lawsuit on behalf of Plares’ son Adam Plares Sr. seeks unspecified damages and alleges wrongful death, elder abuse and violation of patient rights by] the facility, its corporate parent Covenant Care and an affiliated business, Suncrest Hospice. It was filed at the end of May, but publicly announced Tuesday.

“We trusted them to take care of my grandma and keep her safe, and they failed miserably,” Adam Plares II, the victim’s grandson, said at a Tuesday news conference outside the nursing home. “My grandmother was placed in a room with a violent woman who had previously tried to murder someone in the same facility.”

He was referring to an accompanying criminal charge alleging that in April 2023, Delucca was caught trying to smother a 103-year-old woman rooming with her, reportedly because she thought the roommate was loud at night. That incident was not charged until after Vera Plares’ death was ruled a homicide.

A police report states that Delucca initially told investigators she was trying to kill the woman, but later said she wanted her to be quiet, and that “she might be ‘crazy’ and not in her right mind,” police said.

Neither the nursing facility nor its corporate parent immediately responded to a request for comment Tuesday. But in a statement to this news organization July 10 — when Delucca was scheduled for arraignment — the company said it was “saddened and shocked” by Vera Plares’ death before declining further comment, citing the ongoing litigation.

“We are working with the resident’s family in an effort to seek resolution and will fully cooperate with applicable authorities as the matter is investigated,” the statement reads. “Covenant Care and its staff express their heartfelt condolences to the family of our resident.”

But plaintiff attorney Victoria Gutierrez, from the Peninsula-based law firm Goyette, Ruano & Thompson, said it was the company that put Vera Plares in danger. Mark Peacock, whose firm Peacock & Bartlett is also representing the plaintiff, said the actions imperiled the victim’s wishes to eventually leave the facility and spend her final days at home with family.

“This is all a tragedy that could have been prevented, had they done their responsibility, had they done and made sure that they conducted all the research properly to put Vera in a safe place,” Gutierrez said Tuesday. “Vera deserved respect and deserved to die with dignity.”

The lawsuit also mentions that it was only at the family’s insistence that Vera Plares be taken to the hospital, and file a full police report. The follow-up police interview with Adam Plares II was one of the events that set the eventual homicide investigation into motion.

An autopsy ruled Vera Plares’ cause of death as being from a blunt force injury to her head compounded by cardiovascular disease. Police reported that forensic testing matched Delucca’s DNA to the handle of her cane and Vera Plares’ DNA on the other end of the cane. The distance between their beds, police said, was about 23 inches and the cane was 32 inches long.

Combined with witness accounts that no one entered their room the night of the alleged attack, detectives concluded that Delucca was behind an assault that left Vera Plares with a swollen jaw, cracked tooth and major bruising on the sides of her face and along her right arm and hand.

Great-granddaughter Sierra Plares said Vera Plares was the family matriarch who moved from New Mexico to Alviso in the 1930s and picked fruits and vegetables in a quest to give her eventual family a better life. She spoke Tuesday while holding a sign with the message “She picked so we could walk,” a tribute to her great-grandmother’s sacrifices so that she and her other cousins could walk across graduation stages.

“She didn’t spend her life picking to die in this manner,” Sierra Plares said. “Me and my family will always have gaping holes in our hearts for the rest of our lives. Her pain is over, but ours is just beginning.”

HARLEM, Manhattan (WABC) -- Disturbing video obtained by Eyewitness News shows a 95-year-old woman being assaulted by a home health aide in Harlem this past weekend.

The incident happened on July 21 after the home health aide was sent to take care of the woman who uses a walker and needs an oxygen tank.

The video -- caught on the victim's Nest camera -- showed the aide whacking her with a pan and also hitting her repeatedly until she collapsed to the floor.

"It was a nightmare," said Michelle Mitchell, the victim's granddaughter. "It was horrific. It was one of the worst days of my life."

Mitchell was in New Jersey, but she was watching the ordeal on her phone as it happened because the family installed cameras in her grandma's apartment.

"It was so unreal to me, that someone could punch somebody like they were beating them down," added Mitchell.

The victim suffered bruises is sore and can't lift her arms from the attack. Doctors say they are also worried about possible blood clots.

The worker had been sent to the home by Medflyt at Home Health Care Agency.

"We're doing an internal investigation, alongside the New York City Police Department, and are cooperating with authorities," the company said in a statement to Eyewitness News.

Police are looking for the health aide worker. So far, there have been no arrests.

OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- An East Oakland nursing home is facing more allegations of reckless negligence, fraud, and now wrongful death.

"It was a horror movie," said Kyomi Williams.

Her father died while in the care of Windsor Healthcare Center of Oakland, a facility located along Fruitvale Avenue.

According to a complaint filed in Alameda County Superior Court, the facility is accused of chemically restraining her father for "convenience" without any consultation from his doctor.

"Every day, I was just fighting with them for adequate care for my father," Williams said.

Less than a month after admitting her father to the facility, he was found dead in his bed after what the complaint alleges was "reckless overmedication" with sedatives and narcotics.

"I was under the impression that it was a 4.5 facility," Williams said. "When I got there, it was totally unacceptable."

Several days after Williams' father was admitted in December of 2022, the complaint alleges he eloped from the building and his daughter found him by a nearby crosswalk.

"That's when they started medicating him," Williams said. "Every time I was there, he was unable to talk."

The facility allegedly never reported the incident to state regulators, which the complaint claims is required by state law. Instead, the complaint stated the facility secured a physician's order for Ativan, a sedative and a morphine narcotic, to prevent him from getting away.

"And that's basically chemically restraining someone, because it's easier when they're drugged up to supervise them," said Ed Dudensing, an elder abuse attorney. "It's a very uncompassionate way to deal with people, and it can be deadly, as it was in this case."

According to legal documents, unqualified staff allegedly heavily dosed her father with sedatives and narcotics without directly consulting with his doctor, which was required by the facility and the physician's order.

Williams also said facility staff failed to update her father's medical chart. He reportedly fell in January last year and the complaint says the facility doubled his dosage of morphine.

The complaint says the alleged overmedicating continued with sedatives and narcotics for weeks until Mr. Williams' death on Jan. 7.

"That was the ultimate cause of his death," Dudensing said. "And that's a horrible way to die."

The I-Team reached out to Windsor Healthcare Center of Oakland, along with some of its parent companies for further comment. This includes the parent company's CEO billionaire businessman Shlomo Rechnitz, who owns dozens of nursing home facilities across the state. We haven't heard back. 👈🚨

The facility is part of a larger network of nursing homes that have been scrutinized in recent years. The complaint alleges the company presents false representations and manipulates the 5-star rating system with respect to staffing and quality of care.

According to Care Compare, a federal oversight arm for nursing homes, the facility has a 4-out-of-5 star rating on Medicare's website.

"We've got five current pending cases against him and his facilities," Dudensing said. "That's one hallmark in all these cases. They are significantly understaffed."

She shares this prayer in the description of this video. I have copied and pasted into a Word document and printed it so that I could read it out loud in my home when I need it. I recommend you do the same for easy access. When I was first led to these prayer videos in 2015, I would listen to her pray on my behalf when I was feeling weak and oppressed in the spirit. She prays in tongues and I would let her powerful words permeate my environment. I would say, "Father God, I come in agreement with this mighty anointed woman of God who is praying on my behalf."

When you are praying on your own, always end your declaration with, in the name of Jesus Christ, or start with through the blood of Jesus Christ, or start and end with both. I felt a great oppressive spiritual weight lifted off of me within a week when I first started using these prayers in 2015. Which came as a great relief. But then weeks later the spiritual attacks came at me like a swarm of locust descending upon me every which way imaginable. I would grab these prayers that I have printed, and I would read them with tears in my eyes. I would keep pushing through reading these prayers, and by the third prayer, my eyes would start to dry up, and I would feel stronger in the spirit. My home environment would also feel lighter. Of course, it's different for everyone. I'm merely sharing my personal experience.

I am happy to report that I have been smoke-free now for 7 years. I quit this pack a day 36-year-old habit cold turkey and I still have no desire to smoke. I know in my heart that this prayer led the Holy Spirit to help break this spiritual stronghold in my life that I wasn't able to do on my own. ❤ I wasn't even trying to quit smoking. I really enjoyed smoking cigarettes. It wasn't a New Years resolution either. It just happened the way I described. It's still wild to me how the Holy Spirit killed that cigarette smoking stronghold spirit. I know I put my effort in, I did my part by reading this prayer almost every day. But I was desperately wanting to be set free of the spiritual oppression I was feeling. Never once prayed to help me quite smoking cigarettes. I know I called it in and the Holy Spirit saw fit to kill that one super stronghold that had me from the age of 10.
UPDATE 1/1/23 at 3:13pm: I want to add and make perfectly clear that I do not hate people who smoke cigarettes. Neither am I disgusted with people who smoke cigarettes. I do not in any way judge people who smoke cigarettes. I can actually stand in a crowd of people smoking cigarettes and not be tempted to smoke a cigarette. That's how I know I have been completely set free from this stronghold by the power of the Holy Spirit. I can't stand people who quit something and then are digusted by the people who are doing whatever they quit as if they were never in the same position those people are in. They have replaced the spirit they quit with a self rightous spirit that is worse than the one they quit. The spirit of self righteousness means you feel you are now morally superior to those you are now judging. This kind of people wouldn't bother going after the one sheep that strayed in the same way Jesus left the 99 to search for the one sheep that is lost. How are others going to be saved if you are sitting in the judgement seat that belongs to God alone?

UPDATE 1/1/23 at 4:57pm: I had to come back to say to you God loves you right where you are and as you are. I was saved in 2003 when I had my personal encounter with Jesus Christ and I continued smoking cigarettes. Jesus never made me feel condemn for smoking cigarettes. Satan condemns you, stresses you, rushes you. Jesus Christ loved me as I was and continues to love me into wholeness. Jesus Christ never said you have to quit smoking cigarettes in order for me to save you or love you. As you can see clearly I smoked cigarettes for another 13 years after I was saved enjoying every cigarette until I began reading these prayers that unbeknownst to me would end up killing that cigarette smoking stronghold. God loves you so much and wants to have a personal releationship with you. Tell God to show you that He is real. Tell God you're afraid of letting go. Jesus will tell you to Trust and Believe in Him when you let go of holding on for dear life.

Satan knows your name but he calls you by your sin.
God knows your sin but He calls you by your name.
To personally experience God's power in my life time and time again is evidence enough for me to know God is real and the evil realm has to OBEY the Lord God almighty.

You must stay strong, vigilant in the Lord, and know that God is with you always by way of the Holy Spirit that is inside of you. God will give you strength by way of the Holy Spirit. God will always have the last word. Hand God, surrender, every situation in your life. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Use your power and authority given to us in Christ Jesus. Be prepared to watch in amazement how the Supernatural power of the Holy Spirit works miracles in and through your life. I'm still in awe. I can attest that Jesus Christ is real. I don't even want to imagine my life without Him. Call on His name if you want to be set free from this world spritually speaking. Jesus Christ was God made flesh to walk among us and He said He came to set the captives free. Who are the captives? ALL OF HUMANITY.

In the mighty, most powerful, wonder-working name of Jesus Christ. Let the words that I speak be prophetically loaded and launched as Holy Ghost missiles into any and every area of my life that requires Holy Ghost fire explosion and disintegration of demonic deposits, debris and poison.

Oh lord, because you are my beginning and my end, I start my day strong and end triumphant with you by my side.

I double-doze my intellect and faculties with your word and inject my memory with every single bit of refreshment that your word provides.

I charge the atmosphere with your glory and dissolve every dirty and filthy thoughts projected against my mind.
