A Milwaukee teenager is accused of going on a stabbing spree two days before killing 5-year-old Prince McCree.

A criminal complaint released Monday detailed 15-year-old Erik Mendoza's admission. It said he told investigators he stabbed three people in a span of 25 minutes on Monday, Oct. 23.

The first happened at 6:50 p.m. near North 42nd Street and North Avenue. Police said an 18-year-old on his phone was stabbed in the back, and the attacker took off running.

At 7:07 p.m., less than a mile away, police responded to a second reported stabbing at North 35th and Center streets.

The criminal complaint said a 14-year-old boy walking home from his grandma's was stabbed in the shoulder.

Eight minutes later, at 7:15 p.m., a half mile away, police responded to a third stabbing at Sherman Boulevard and Center Street. This time, a 38-year-old woman sitting at a bus stop told investigators someone stabbed her in the back of the neck.

Two days later, on Oct. 25, Prince McCree's family reported the boy missing. Investigators found his lifeless body in a dumpster on Oct. 26.

Police said during their interrogation of Mendoza, he admitted to the stabbings, saying he felt "a rush from stabbing each victim."

"He admits to not only committing the brutal murder of 5-year-old PRM but then admits to stabbing multiple members in our community in the back, in the neck because he had nothing better to do. Mr. Mendoza represents a danger inside his home, and he represents a danger outside his home," Milwaukee County Deputy District Attorney Matthew Torbenson said in the boy's first court appearance Tuesday. "PRM" stands for Prince McCree.

WISN 12 News asked the Milwaukee Police Department why they did not alert the public to the stabbing Monday evening. They turned down our request for an interview but, in a statement, said, "At the time, there wasn't information that connected these incidents together."

Investigators said surveillance video does show the first stabbing at North 42nd Street and North Avenue. All three victims went to the hospital. All three survived.

Mendoza is charged with first degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse, physical abuse of a child and three counts of recklessly endangering safety.

A criminal complaint outlines 5-year-old Prince McCree's final moments and the attempt to cover up his death.

The Milwaukee County district attorney charged 15-year-old Erik Mendoza and 27-year-old David Pietura with intentional homicide, physical abuse of a child and hiding a corpse.

Investigators say Mendoza lives on the first floor of the home on 54th Street and Meinecke Avenue with his mother and two other siblings. Pietura lives in the basement. Prince lived with his mother, Jordan Barger, his father, and two other siblings on the western portion of the second floor and in the attic.

According to the complaint, Jordan Barger, Prince's mother, last saw her son Wednesday, Oct. 25, around 9 a.m. The complaint says she kept her son home from school that day because he had a cough and a sore throat. She told investigators she was sleeping but believed Prince went into the basement to play video games with Pietura.

Around 1 p.m., Barger took Mendoza to the Clark gas station nearby to buy food. When they returned, she realized Prince was missing.

Police arrested Pietura and say that's when he confessed to knowing where Prince's body was. According to the complaint, Pietura told them, "It wasn’t me," followed by, "I didn’t want any of this" and "I loved that kid," before telling police Prince's body was in a dumpster behind a bar.

Surveillance video provided in the complaint shows both defendants walking through a nearby alley carrying a garbage bag. WISN 12 News has blurred the photo out of respect for the family.

Investigators say they confronted Mendoza the next day with the surveillance picture when they interrogated him. GPS Information also put Pietura and Mendoza near the alley where Prince's body was found.

Mendoza initially denied hurting the boy or knowing where he went. According to the complaint, he then admitted to strangling and beating him.

Friday, Oct. 27, police questioned Pietura again. He told police he walked in on Mendoza choking Prince until he was motionless. According to the criminal complaint, Pietura then said, "We got to clean it up."

Investigators say Pietura admitted to tying Prince up with duct tape and putting his body in garbage bags.

The criminal complaint outlines Prince regaining consciousness several times. Investigators say the suspects repeatedly beat the 5-year-old each time he made noise until he was quiet again. Investigators say they beat him with barbells, a golf club and a birdbath, and they repeatedly stomped his head.

Mendoza also told police, according to the complaint, he stabbed three people on Oct. 23. The stabbings, the complaint states, were random and from behind.

When asked what he would say to the victims, he responded "I'm sorry, but you are alive," the complaint states.

There is now a growing memorial at the dumpster where police found Prince's body.

"He didn't deserve it. A life cut young. So early, man," said Todd Walker, Prince’s uncle. "Prince was an awesome little dude. When he says something, he would cheer you up."
