Why the interest in public board law when it affects such a small number of people you may rightly wonder? Well, the legal arguments from these cases are a BIG FUCKING DEAL as they're about the implementation of Equality Act 2010 & have UK-wide implications 5/
Scot Gov took it upon themselves (not even discussed in Parliament we may add!) to say a male+GRC makes you female in all situations in public board law, and were - away from prying eyes - laying down legislation that dictates how GRC-holders were treated more broadly 6/

This is what FWS is challenging in Nov. & now has the legal funds to support the process. This case isn't without peril & has the potential for even more legal costs (that both donors & taxpayers are funding). If the case is lost then having a GRC will pretty much allow a full 7/

change of sex in law. That matters because, in parallel, Scot Gov are trying to remove all gatekeeping so ANYONE can get a GRC, for free, from the age of 16, no medical diagnosis.
