USA: "Property Destruction Is A Moral Imperative." A Far-Left Extremist Running To Be The Prosecutor, City Attorney In Seattle Has Advocated In Support Of Antifa Rioting, Referred To Police As "Armed Thugs"

A police and prison abolitionist, Antifa supporter and riot advocate is in a statistical tie in a recent poll for the race to become Seattle City Attorney.

Nicole Thomas-Kennedy, a candidate to replace the incumbent, according to her website, left the public defender's office to take on "pro bono activist defense work, part-time public defender contract cases, and volunteer with the National Lawyers Guild" during the riots in 2020 in the wake of the death of George Floyd led by Antifa and BLM, presumably to advocate for the rioters.

During the ongoing riots in Seattle in August of 2020, Thomas-Kennedy referred to police as "armed thugs," supported black bloc Antifa activists and tweeted that "Property destruction is a moral imperative."
During an interview, Thomas-Kennedy claimed the comment "was a joke," and went on to minimize property destruction in the wake of people being murdered in relation to that destruction of property. When pressed on the issue, Thomas-Kennedy belittled property destruction in comparison with murder even though Antifa and BLM activists had tried to burn down buildings in the city with people inside them. Perhaps the abolitionist did not care because the people inside were police officers.
Even though Thomas-Kenney claimed the tweet was a joke, she often repeats the sentiment. When Antifa and BLM rioters lit a construction site for the new Juvenile Detention Facility on fire she tweeted "Yay! Thank you to the heroes that set the Children's Jail on fire!"

Thomas-Kennedy's jokes become increasingly more threatening when she replied to another tweet in September 2020 and said, "I have a gun, so I'll be bringing that. But thanks for the threat. lol."

On her website the public defender said she will legalize most crimes, claims the criminal justice system is racist and bigoted. According to an interview, the radical activist wants to cut the city attorney’s criminal division and stop prosecuting misdemeanors.

As such, the abolitionist ignores the duty of the City Attorney for justice for the victims of crime and instead will fund community-based organizations.

The model is not that dissimilar from current City Attorney Pete Holmes who has been widely criticized for Seattle's revolving door justice system created by not prosecuting crime.

The latest poll by the Northwest Progressive Institute shows Holmes in a statistical tie in a three-way race with Thomas-Kennedy and Ann Davison. Davison has pledged to bring law and order back to the city. The top two vote earners of the August primary go on to the November general election.
