USA: The Senate Confirmed Biden's DOJ Nominee Kristen Clarke As Assistant Attorney General For The Civil Rights Division. She Advocates Abolishing The Police In Line With Black Lives Matter.

BlazeTV published May 13, 2021: Sen. Ted Cruz just dropped a NUKE on Biden's DOJ nominee that no one saw coming.

I typed a snipit of what Senator Ted Cruz shared starting at 3:21.

Senator Ted Cruz: But Miss Clarke organized that conference. That was one of the speakers at her conference. And if you say, well maybe those are not her views. I have in front of me an email she sent on June 25, 1999. It says, "I'm going to read a relevant part, whoever thinks chattel slavery is gone is not with us in the real world. Some aspects of it have changed. Like cars modernized for the times. The old chains are now less visible. Fitted by the media, and schools, and laws. The plantation are called plants or factories or whatever they call the myriad squalid money making machines in which the rulers exploit Black people and the whole working class. The Klan is now the police with blue uniforms replacing the sheets and hoods. The corrupt racist judges are petty Klan administrators. The Kleagle of the bourgeois state klavern their courts. The midnight torch burning torch sessions before the next stretching and Black corpse burning."

Senator Ted Cruz goes on to say: To each of my Democratic colleagues on this committee. Miss Clarke in writing said I want to read the sentence and on this copy is highlighted, "The Klan is now the police. With blue uniforms replacing the sheets and hoods." You do not get to pretend you are defenders of law enforcement when you vote for someone who describes police officers as the Klan. And who has advocated repeatedly in writing for abolishing the police. This is radical. This is extreme. And the Democratic Senators on this committee know that. And yet you are giving in to the crazy angry Left in your party. I ask you to pull back.
I want to point out that Joe Biden and his mouthpieces keep insisting that Joe Biden is not a Socialist or a Marxist or a Communist. Yet, all of his administration nominee's are hardcore Marxist with a radical Commie activist history. For those of you who don't know, Kleagle means an officer of the Ku Klux Klan whose main role is to recruit new members. A klavern is a local KKK chapter. (emphasis mine)

Controversial DOJ nominee has history of anti-Semitism

The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Kristen Clarke as assistant attorney general for the civil rights division, capping a months-long nomination battle that was hotly contested.

The final vote was 51-48, with Sen. Susan Collins (R., Maine) joining Democrats to support Clarke’s nomination. Democrats teed up the vote to coincide with the anniversary of George Floyd’s death, touting Clarke’s confirmation as a victory for their criminal justice agenda.

"As we continue to pursue strong policing reform legislation, the fight for racial justice by confirming Kristen Clarke on the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder is particularly poignant and appropriate," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) said on the floor before the confirmation vote.

Republicans opposed Clarke’s nomination, citing her anti-police rhetoric and ties to anti-Semites. The Washington Free Beacon reported that Clarke opposed civil rights prosecutions of black defendants, concealed ties to an anti-Semitic writer, and downplayed her involvement with an academic conference that hailed cop-killers as political prisoners.

As legislative gridlock on voting rights and criminal justice reform continues, Clarke’s office will become the locus for the Biden administration’s civil rights agenda. Even if legislative accomplishments prove elusive, the department can notch victories that will outlast the administration by entering reform agreements with police departments or prevailing in litigation.

Upon assuming office, Clarke will confront a range of pressing issues. She will be a major player in identifying how the department will handle legal challenges to new voting procedures in red states enacted after the 2020 election. She will oversee pattern and practice investigations into police departments accused of serial misconduct. And she will help implement a 2020 Supreme Court decision on LGBT rights as it pertains to issues like women’s sports, bathroom access policies, and conscience-based objections for religious dissenters.

Clarke is one of a handful of political appointees confirmed for a Justice Department post since President Joe Biden took office. The president has yet to nominate someone to lead the department’s antitrust division, an appointment closely watched for its implications for Silicon Valley and anti-competitive conglomerates. Nor has Biden named a solicitor general, the high-ranking department official who represents the government before the Supreme Court.

The principal deputy in the civil rights division is Pamela Karlan, the Stanford Law School professor who set off a short-lived controversy when she made a pun involving Barron Trump while testifying before the House Judiciary Committee during the first impeachment of the former president. Karlan, who led the division on an interim basis prior to Clarke’s nomination, is a major figure in the voting and LGBT rights areas. Of late, she helped craft the legal strategy culminating in the Supreme Court’s Bostock v. Clayton County decision, which extended anti-discrimination protections to LGBT workers. Karlan argued the case before the High Court.

Democrats and major media cast Clarke’s confirmation as historic, claiming she will be the first female minority to lead the civil rights division. Vanita Gupta, now the number three at the Justice Department, led the division for two years on an acting basis in the Obama administration. Clarke is the first female minority to fill the post after a Senate confirmation.

According to Fox News, Kristen Clarke, Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, organized a conference at which left-wing activists championed cop-killers and backed the freeing of violent criminals. Fox News reports:
According to a previously unseen university transcript obtained by the American Accountability Foundation and given to Fox News, Kristen Clarke was a critical leader and organizer of the controversial Race-ing Justice Conference while she was a student a Columbia Law School in April 1999

The transcript points to Clarke as the event organizer multiple times, as many speakers thanked her and other organizers for bringing the conference together. Clarke was previously reported as only being a contact for the conference.
What was the conference Clarke organized about? It was mainly about freeing cop-killers and radical extremists:
The conference organized left-leaning students and anti-government activists in their shared support of freeing death row inmates, whom they referred to as “political prisoners.” The list included people convicted for a wide array of crimes, including convicted cop-killers Mumia Abu-Jamal, Mutulu Shakur, Sundiata Acoli, and Tom Manning, in addition to other radical extremists.

The convicted criminals the conference equated to “political prisoners” included Assata Shakur — who was convicted of murdering a New Jersey state trooper, escaped from prison and remains on the FBI’s Most Wanted list — and Susan Rosenberg, who was convicted for transporting multiple illegal firearms and over 740 pounds of explosives.

Rosenberg was also a member of the American communist terrorist group, the May 19th Communist Organization, that bombed the US Capitol on Nov. 7, 1983.
I guess attacks on the Capitol, the “temple of our democracy” — didn’t bother Clarke much back then.

One of the speakers was Safiya Bukhari, founder of the Free Mumia Abu-Jamal Coalition. Bukhari downplayed the Holocaust, saying it “was only 6 million Jews killed in the camps and prisons of Germany and Poland.”

Clarke must have been comfortable with that. A few years earlier, she had invited a notorious anti-Semite to speak at Harvard and then endorsed his attacks on Jews.

Clarke’s defenders may argue that her organizing activities in law school shouldn’t be held against her two decades later. However, I doubt that, for purposes of high-ranking Justice Department nominees, there’s a statute of limitation on supporting cop-killers.

Moreover, Clarke held the college writings of a Trump nominee against that nominee. Law school activism is more relevant than college writings.

Accordingly, Senators should hold Clarke’s celebration of cop killers against her. They should add it to the list of reasons not to confirm her.
