FBI Director Says Atlanta Shooting ‘Does Not Appear’ Racially Motivated https://t.co/i1TEZpvtOV pic.twitter.com/Uu2XdAbbAR

The Atlanta police captain did not excuse the spa killer's actions as merely the result of a "bad day." He was paraphrasing what the alleged shooter told investigators. Sadly, this is another media-circulates-misleading-viral-clip incident. https://t.co/YpThKxFpxY

The prime villain here is Vox's Aaron Rupar, who clipped, misleadingly quoted, and circulated the video. But WaPo's article is also bad—nowhere does it state that the "bad day" quote is a paraphrase of what Long told the investigators. pic.twitter.com/qh82bEqJsN

The backlash began with the sheriff spokesman's statement to reporters that the mass shooting suspect was having a "bad day.""He was pretty much fed up and kind of at the end of his rope. Yesterday was a really bad day for him and this is what he did," Cherokee County Sheriff's Office Capt. Jay Baker said Wednesday. He was describing the 21-year-old man accused of killing eight people, mostly Asian and almost all women, in a rampage across three Atlanta-area spas.
Rupar did not make it clear this was a paraphrase, and the many articles about this—in WaPo, BuzzFeed, NY mag, and elsewhere—failed to do so as well (despite obviously having more room than a tweet to do so). https://t.co/STSQNZPLm6

MSNBC’s @JoyAnnReid: "The worst thing that happened this week was a sheriff, a law enforcement officer of the U.S. saying that a spree killer had a bad day because he had a sex addiction, and seeming to empathize with him when he slaughtered eight women, most of them Asian" pic.twitter.com/vg5A78uKlk

Without evidence, Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu said former President Donald Trump gave people "permission to attack" Asian-Americans. So far extreme-Left Big Tech has yet to silence, ban, censor, suppress, or "fact-check" Lieu for spreading misinformation. https://t.co/9mhaBI1MBK

This is a lie according to the Atlanta Police. This is race baiting at its best. https://t.co/hSphuIY6rD

When you recycle an out-of-context quote a day after it was debunked, that's called "being a disingenuous hack." https://t.co/qC1qOVsnKa

The woke left are NOT your friend.
They dismiss Asian success as "proximity to whiteness."
They say it's ok to discriminate against you in admissions.
They say merit-based immigration (which tends to favor Asians) is "racist."
Screw them. Let's #AsianExit. pic.twitter.com/EaWegVTZLW
imagine a website that puts disclaimers on a president’s memes while aaron rupar and his selectively edited bullshit trend regularly. twitter is the villain here as much as some hack journalist.
