CANADA: Irony: Liberals In The US Can’t Move To Canada Because Of Their Tough Immigration Laws. And Why Did All The Rich Leftist Threaten To Move To Canada And Not To Mexico Eh?

Every presidential election, liberals threaten to move to Canada if their candidate doesn’t end up in the Oval Office. This year’s election was no different with liberal celebrities like Raven-Symonรฉ, Lena Dunham, and Bryan Cranston threatening to head to the Great White North if Hillary Clinton didn’t take the presidency, or, rather, if Trump did.

Many liberal millennials made the same claim and a surge in traffic actually knocked Canada’s immigration website offline after Trump was declared the winner. There’s just one problem with their plan: Canada probably doesn’t want them.

Moving to Canada isn’t like moving to a different state in the United States of America. Obtaining permanent residency can take years to achieve. Doctors, lawyers, and other professionals can obtain a work visa thanks to NAFTA to relocate to Canada temporarily. Skilled workers will have an easier time heading north as well, provided Canada is running short on workers for that specific trade.

As one might imagine, most Americans, let alone liberal millennials, are not skilled workers, doctors, lawyers, architects, or any other professional included in NAFTA.

That alone will make it incredibly difficult for large numbers of young liberals to avoid Trump’s presidency.

Canada beefed up its immigration laws, just like Trump plans to do, back in the summer of 2012, which only makes things more difficult.

Those wishing to immigrate to Canada can still do so – provided they have a family sponsor already living there. In order for immigrants to receive recognition in the sponsorship program, applicants must be at least 16 years old or fulfill a whole host of other qualifications.

That’s going to cause quite a few problems for most liberal millennials. Their chances fall even further down the ladder with a long list of restrictions that can disqualify a candidate from immigrating to Canada.

All visa applicants must undergo a medical examination that includes a physical and mental exam, blood and urine tests, submission of past medical records, and more. Applicants can be denied a visa on medical grounds if they require excessive government-funded health services, prove a possible danger to public safety, or they exhibit unpredictable or unusual behavior.

Considering some liberals are currently attacking Trump supporters, rioting, and marching onto freeways, Canadian medical examiners aren’t likely to turn a blind eye.
But wait, there’s more!

Conviction of a crime in or outside of Canada can disqualify applicants as well. Ties to organized crime as well as human or international rights violations make the list too.

Here’s the real kicker. Many liberal millennials currently have student debt. That can indicate a serious financial problem depending on the amount, which is another reason Canada can turn applicants away.

There’s a small ray of hope for you though, liberal millennials.

Even if you don’t meet the requirements to immigrate to Canada, you can apply for a temporary resident permit. In order to receive the permit, candidates must prove that the reason for their visit is justified and pay a non-refundable processing fee. The permit is issued for a specific length of time and permit holders must leave the country or obtain a new permit before the existing one expires.

Perhaps 2017 will be the year that liberals head to Canada in droves, but the odds are against them. Many liberals made the same threat in 2012 and will likely proclaim the same empty words again in 2020.
