Dear Friends,

NEW MOON IS FRIDAY, MAY 6 AT 1:29 PM MOUNTAIN DAYLIGHT TIME (MDT).

An earthy, robust day for having great gratitude for what is different and moving in your life. Celebrate your gifts and be inspired by what you can taste, feel and exchange with others. This is a good day to put your hands into the earth and do some planting either physically or symbolically.

Bury the past and face the future with your own values, your own intuition, and your own trust. Ask for our great ally, pachamama, mother earth, to nurture those seeds and help you and your new intentions to grow into the most beautiful blooms.

This retrograde time is full of “two steps forward, one step back” experiences. It is important that you honor the step back and use the opportunity to change the game and improve something instead of seeing the step back as a limitation, frustration or nuisance. Relax, keep your eye on your goal and use this great time of going within wisely.

Blessings,
Lena

Taurus New Moon shows us how to be a powerful presence on the physical plane in a miraculous physical body. As the second sign of the zodiac after the fiery, inspired spirit of Aries, Taurus brings the gifts of embodiment, self worth, and resources. While Aries has hot Mars as a ruler, Taurus has beauty and pleasure-loving Venus as a ruler engaging us deeply with our senses and bringing relationship to the forefront. Their intent is to teach us to distill our divine nature into this dense physical realm and play, enjoy, taste, feel, connect and delight in the sound, color, and visual dance of Earth. Learning to manifest heaven on Earth is the goal here. The Moon is exalted in the sign of Taurus and it’s a SuperMoon, so the volume is turned way up.

Taurus has rulership over the 2nd house of money, possessions and resources, so we find The Bull very aware of where worth lies, and more importantly as an early personal sign, ‘what is my worth, my value?’ becomes the most basic question. Because isn’t all attraction (thank you, Venus) of abundance, resource and opportunity based on what we feel we deserve? Taurus asks you to inquire deeply within yourself, what do you truly value? What are you willing to put all your resources behind and defend with your strength and power?

Taurus embodies peace – finding your inner contentment and satisfaction. All of nature is Taurus’ ally; Taurus is the fixed, power sign for the element earth – feminine and yin in quality, so naturally she partakes of the big power of nature to balance her energy. Digging in the earth, cooking a meal for friends and family, enjoying musical and artistic activity, luxuriating in home and hospitality are what Taurus likes.

The golden ring of this New Moon in Taurus is the Grand Trine formed by planets in all the other earth signs – that’s Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Virgo along with the Sun and Moon in Taurus (with Mercury, Venus, Vesta also in Taurus). This will give us an opportunity to bring our earth energy into balance that our bodies desperately need with so much energy running through us. Use this gift to up your havingness levels, to care for your body, your home and environment, and feel trust that you will have all you need. Radiate your health, balance and vitality outward and invite beauty and simplicity into your life. This will ward off stuckness, scarcity, laziness and an ungrounded feeling that creeps in when we lack a strong relationship with the element earth. The Grand Trine in earth signs will increase our determination, practicality, and industriousness making it easier to create with grace using the resources at hand.

Having so many planets retrograde is significant –
  • Jupiter until May 9
  • Mercury until May 22
  • Mars until June 29
  • Saturn until August 13
  • Pluto until September 26
  • (Also Neptune retrogrades on June 13 until Dec 19
  • Chiron on June 26 until Nov 30)
So you can see it’s a notable season of reorientation to our inner resources and intuitions shifting away from the external now that our cups have been filled to the brim. What’s important is what’s motivating us from the inside not what we think is expected of us. Refine the direction you want to travel, reevaluate based on what you know now, stop and listen and watch for the clear signs that will lead you exactly where you need to be. It’s a good time to see your own self-defeating behaviors and commit to eliminating them. Watch for passive aggressiveness. You’re not so attached to your trigger points, so you can get some objectivity and begin to see more clearly what traumas they are connected to and put your attention on dissolving these old ways of being that you are needlessly carrying.

As the planets turn direct and slowly reach the degree from which they originally retrograded, you will see the value of all the internal house clearing and releasing that you are doing at present and benefit from an energy surge. You may experience big breakthroughs as Jupiter turns direct on May 9, retrograde since January 7 and fully out of retrograde shadow on August 7. Remember Mars and Pluto are working powerfully behind the scenes to help you transform and recreate yourself. (Yes, it’s uncomfortable at times to hold the energy of evolution and growth, but so what! It’s better than the alternatives of falling down the tunnels of addiction, religious zealotry, or rage against the machine, wouldn’t you say?

The on-going configuration of a mutable t-square formed by Jupiter opposing Neptune and Saturn squaring both ends of the opposition is testing us through Saturn’s lessons and Neptune is encouraging our stretching to new levels of consciousness. Saturn pushes us to discard outmoded belief systems (in Sagittarius) and imprinting from our families and society and to reach to new horizons. We are pushing to heal duality/separation/dominance or at least see it clearly. Saturn’s relationship to this New Moon and the proximity of Mercury retrograde to the Sun will push us to examine the workings of our own minds and concepts to see how we hold ourselves out of abundance and enjoyment of the physical plane. Taurus is so good at teaching us about prosperity, common sense, and adhering to our personal values.

New Moon is always a time of resetting a new cycle with fresh alignments for the next month. Refine your focus to support your prosperity in all areas, acknowledge the abundance you are blessed with, vow to enjoy your life more (in joy), let self love be your priority, organize and stabilize your life, and hold the Earth in the palms of your hands as you bless her to fully use the lessons of Venus-ruled Taurus.
