Fatah Central Committee Member to PA TV: Dalal Mughrabi, Female Suicide Bombers, Are Our Role Models

In an interview on the official Palestinian Authority TV channel to mark International Women's Day, Fatah Central Committee member Amal Hamad said that Dalal Mughrabi, who led the 1978 Coastal Road terrorist attack in Israel, and female suicide bombers Wafa Idris and Rim Al-Riyashi were "role models."

Provided by Memri.org, the following are excerpts from the interview, which aired on March 8, 2015.

Interviewer: With regard to Palestinian women, the PLO Central Council, in its 27th session, emphasized the Palestinian women's right to equality with men. Is this part of a new strategy to give women their rights, in a way that suits their sacrifices in the many years of struggle?

Amal Hamad, Fatah Central Committee: Women constitute 12.8% of the members [of the PLO Central Council]. Let me tell you, this is a good percentage, because worldwide, the average representation of women is 13%.

[…]

However, the representation of women is insufficient in light of the sacrifices they have made. We should be talking about 50% – complete equality. Take, for example, Dalal Al-Mughrabi. She led the men. She did not bring up the rear. She was the commander of fidayeen. She killed dozens of martyrs – I mean, dozens of our women were martyred. They killed dozens of officers and soldiers from among the Zionist enemy.

With regard to martyrdom-seekers, we have had Wafa Idris. She was the first of our female martyrdom-seekers to blow herself up in the midst of the Israeli occupation. We have other role models, like Rim Al-Riyashi. We must highlight these Palestinian role models, who were on the frontline of the confrontation with the Israeli occupation.

Interviewer: True.

Amal Hamad: They have been in the lead of our national struggle, and they are leading the social struggle as well.

Creating a supportive social environment for terrorists has been a critical factor in the Palestinian Authority's successful promotion of suicide terrorism. To this end, PA policy has been to honor terrorists as Shahids (Martyrs for Allah), and to teach Palestinian mothers to celebrate when their children die as terrorist Shahids. Categorizing these dead terrorists as Shahids grants them the highest honor a Muslim can achieve, and is therefore cause for a mother to celebrate, according to this PA teaching.

An example of that happiness and celebration can be seen in Um Nidal, mother of a suicide terrorist:

Um Nidal is filmed with her son, Muhammad, who is armed and ready to carry out a terror attack:

"By Allah, today is the best day of my life. I feel that our Lord is pleased with me, because I am offering something [my son] for Him. I wish to sacrifice more [sons] for Allah's forgiveness, and for the flag [of Islam],

'There is no god but Allah', to fly over Palestine.... It's true that there's nothing more precious than children, but for the sake of Allah – what is precious becomes cheap."

Mother of synagogue terrorist praises her son who murdered five

Mother of terrorist Uday Abu Jamal recited a poem while receiving guests in her mourning tent:

"I'm wearing the embroidered gown.
How beautiful is your Martyrdom.
You have placed a crown [upon my head] and a star upon my shoulders.
O Ghassan and Uday, who carried out the operation (i.e., murder of 5),
blessed be your hands and the tips of your fingers.
Blessed be the womb that bore you,
blessed be the breasts that nurtured you.
The daughter of Gaza said:
The people of Jerusalem sacrificed their blood, children and wives for the cause.
I, daughter of Jerusalem, am giving Gaza the most beautiful gift.
Ghassan's mother and Uday's mother said:
I brought up my children on the religion of Islam.
Yesterday [I gave] the most beautiful gift.
The Martyrs' blood was not spilled in vain. I am a Palestinian."

Note: On Nov. 18, 2014, two Arab terrorists, Ghassan and Uday Abu Jamal from East Jerusalem, entered a synagogue in Jerusalem and attacked worshippers with guns, knives and axes, killing 4 worshippers and a police officer. 7 people were injured, 3 of them seriously. PA TV reporter: "At two a.m., according to Zionist hatred time, the residential quarter in Hebron awoke to the sound of shots fired by the occupation directly at the two Martyrs, Amer Abu Aisheh and Marwan Al-Qawasmi..."

Mother of Marwan Al-Qawasmi at his funeral: "[My son] Marwan is an angel. He was loved all his life. Everyone loves him. He is noble, pure and modest - an angel; the hero among heroes and a leader. If Allah hadn't loved him, He wouldn't have honored him with Martyrdom."
