At least four people were killed or injured following a suicide attack in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan on Sunday, local officials said.
The incident took place near Marjah security compound, leaving an Afghan police officer dead and three civilians injured.
Provincial governor spokesman, Omar Zwak confirmign the report said a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the entrance gate of Marjah security compound on Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Zwak further added that the suicide bomber was looking to enter the security compound and detonated his explosives after he was recognized by Afghan security forces.
No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanista where Taliban militants are openly operating.
In the meantime, another security official in Helmand province said that the health condition of the injured civlians are critical.
