INDIA: 12 Islamist Booked For Sharia Law 'Honour Killing' In Haryana

FATEHABAD - Another suspected honour killing came to light in Fatehabad on Friday after a 24-year-old youth was axed to death by around 12 persons in the city.

The assailants fled the spot after the crime and police registered a case under Section 302 of IPC. The jat youth, Satpal Dhaka, a resident of Dhani Issar in Fatehabad district, had come to the city to distribute wedding cards of his brother when the group attacked him.

Deceased's brother Suraj Bhan in a complaint alleged that Satpal was in love with one Shabnam Rani, daughter of Mukesh Kumar, and they got married last year and was living in Dhani Issar. "He used to get threats from Mukesh and a few of his accomplices on his phone. He ignored those threats and had come to Fatehabad to distribute wedding cards of Suraj on Friday. When he reached Arorwansh Dharamsala, Mukesh's his aides Sanjay, Subham, Sagar and Ravi and some unknown persons attacked him with sharp-edged weapons and killed him," Suraj said.

Station house officer Gaurav Sharma said, "No accused has been arrested so far. The girl belongs to a dalit family. The body has been sent to the general hospital for autopsy. A case under Section 302 of IPC has been registered against 12 persons".
