An anti-terror squad in Jakarta has seized five homemade bombs and arrested two militants who were planning to attack the Myanmar Embassy in the city in protest of the anti-Muslim violence in Myanmar, according to a report on Friday morning by Associated Press (AP).
Quoting Indonesian National Police spokesman Brig-Gen. Boy Rafli Amar, the report said the two men were arrested in central Jakarta on a motorbike just before midnight on Thursday after authorities were tipped to their whereabouts.
The spokesman says the subsequent interrogation led to a rented house where explosive materials were found, and that the men confessed to a plan to attack the Myanmar Embassy in protest against the treatment of minority Muslims in Myanmar.
