A heavy explosion rocked southern Helmand province of Afghanistan early Tuesday morning.
According to local authorities the incident took place in Garmsir district after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives in a market place in this district.
Provincial governor spokesman Omer Zwak said at least three civilians were killed and nine others including two Afghan police officers were injured following the blast.
Mr. Zwak further added the incident took place in Safar area and at least three children were also among those injured.
He said the explosives were planted in a motorcyle.
No group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
