KOLKATA: A teenage girl was gang-raped and later set on fire at Baruipur in Sonarpur police station area early on Wednesday.
Locals rescued the 14-year-old girl in a semi-burnt state. The girl is now battling for life at SSKM Hospital.
Police have arrested three persons in connection with the rape.
Preliminary investigation into the rape revealed that it was a crime of vengeance. The family of the accused have rivalry and enmity with the family of the victim.
The accused have been slapped with murder and gang rape charges.
