An awful, terrible, disturbing and deadly day of tornadoes unfolded on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 with more than 150 reported tornadoes striking several states in the South and even a few areas in the Mid-Atlantic. It was also the third straight day with widespread severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in the South.

Thursday night, the storm system responsible for producing this devastating outbreak will push off the East Coast. Before this happens, scattered severe storms will continue into the evening hours from the Mid-Atlantic to northern Florida. Damaging winds, large hail and isolated tornadoes are possible. You can find our thunderstorm forecast map below to see the areas of concern.

We also have the latest radar and watch/warning maps to track the storms.
