Beginnings and Endings

Beginnings and Endings

Beginnings and endings are interesting concepts of the human spirit. One marks a starting point, while the other opens its arms to an even bigger transition. They both, however, tend to indicate change in a person’s life.

Beginnings and endings can be viewed as trials, trials you are forced to pull yourself through. You know they are beneficial, but you may not have the desire to actually begin them. Though your life may be rushing in that direction anyway, and without your consent.

Life passes us by quickly, they say, nothing could be more useless than to not pay attention to these trials. They both have their own importance. They both depend on your willingness to learn (or re-learn, in some cases).

Trials will lift and pull and stretch and bend you as they take their toll on your emotions. Good and bad times, light and darkness, truth and hatred. They all have places in your mind, yet only a few you want to grasp and hold on to; the good ones, at least. Morals are tested; relationships grow and die. You hate these trials, yet you love them just the same. But it’s not getting through these trials that should be on your mind; it should be the journey - what you do while you’re working your way towards the finish line.

It’s ironic that there even is this imaginary finish line that appears to us in our minds; for if you have ever reached a change in your life without taking hold of the lessons it had offered to teach you, you would realize that you were foolish to have only thought about that finish line. The light at the end of the tunnel is what every soul yearns for, yet it is the most important facts that breeze by as you rush to comprehend the finish line.

Beginnings and endings both have places in the human spirit, and rightfully so. They both have lessons to teach, both seem to have your expectations to meet. But your expectations mean nothing in the long haul, as fate may have other plans.

The rigorous trials seem to be over at one specific point in your life. It’s a death-trap, in my opinion, for you may not realize that life has thrown you yet another challenge, and you have no choice but to try and catch the fastball: it will become another chapter in this story.

Eventually, when you think you’ve finished all the trials, unlikely at best, you start to believe you’re fortunate.

You know you’re still alive, shaken by the trials but not defeated. You’re still here, you’re still strong. And that’s when you realize: this is only the beginning.

It Is Finished! WOW! This is an AMAZING message! Thank you Pastor Prince. ♥ AMEN! ♥

It Is Finished!

John 19:30: So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Imagine looking at Leonardo da Vinci’s famous Mona Lisa painting in the Louvre museum. Would you think of adding more brush strokes to it? Of course not! It was done by a master, so what could you possibly add to the painting to improve it?

In the same way, that is how we are to look at Jesus’ work on the cross. He cried out, “It is finished!” You cannot complete a completed work. You cannot finish a finished work. Our salvation is won. Our sins are all forgiven. We are made forever righteous by His blood. Christ paid completely and perfectly for our total forgiveness, righteousness and every blessing!

In fact, these three words, “It is finished”, come from one Greek word teleo. In the days of Jesus, a servant would use it when reporting to his master: “I have completed the work assigned to me.” (John 17:4) The word means, “It is finished, it stands finished and it will always be finished!” Perhaps the most significant meaning of teleo is how it is used by merchants: “The debt is paid in full!” When Jesus gave Himself on the cross, He met fully the righteous demands of the law. He paid our debts in full!

Today, it is not our works that will bring us the blessings. It is Christ’s finished work. Christian living is not about doing, but believing in His finished work. Under the law, we must do. Under grace, it is done!

Maybe you are faced with overwhelming odds today. Jesus promises, “It is finished!” You are not going to be delivered because you have already been delivered. You are not going to be healed because you are already the healed! God healed you 2,000 years ago! Isaiah 53:5 declares, “By His stripes you are healed!” You are already pregnant with healing. Keep resting in His finished work and it will manifest!

My friend, the work is finished. The victory is won. Our blessings have been bought by His blood! Live life knowing that there is nothing for you to do — only believe! It is finished!

Thought Of The Day: It is believing in Christ’s finished work that will bring us the blessings.

Rocks and Sand: Good Advice To Help You Priortize Your Life From Here On Out. ♥

Rocks and Sand

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2" in diameter.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The students laughed. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children - anything that is so important to you that if it were lost, you would be nearly destroyed.

"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car.

"The sand is everything else. The small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal.

"Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

"Love knows only one time: NOW and only one place: HERE" ~ by Osho

A Love Story
~Author Unknown~

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived; Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired their boats and left. Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment.

When the island was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of silver in my boat. There is no place here for you." Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered. Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with you." "Oh....Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself." Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her!

Suddenly there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went his own way. Love realizing how much he owed the elder, asked Knowledge, another elder. "Who helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because, only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is."

Among Boxed Talent, Teena Marie Was FREE, Ahead Of Her Time! <== That Is How You Define A TRAIL BLAZER! ♥ I Truly Enjoyed Reading. ♥

Hampton Roads
written by Jamesetta Walker
Tuesday December 28, 2010

History is almost always kinder than real time.

That thought came to mind Saturday as I spent the better part of 10 hours on the road, repeatedly playing two Teena Marie CDs – “Robbery” and “Emerald City.”

“Robbery” was hailed an instant R&B classic, with hits such as “Dear Lover” and “Cassanova Brown.” “Emerald City,” a decidedly rock album with much less of the soul balladry and less of the funk sound for which Teena had come to be known, was largely panned.

It’s a masterpiece, though, not only because of its cohesiveness in the arc of the storytelling of love found and lost but also because of the rousing and ebbing instrumentation.

In 1986, few seemed willing to accept it was OK for a pint-sized female soul singer to bang it out Jimi Hendrix-style and then close an album with melancholy jazz.

Chuck Eddy, in his 1991 book “Stairway to Hell,” named “Emerald City” the ninth best on his list of the 500 greatest heavy metal albums of all time. In 2010, the album sounds as current as anything just released.

The world just wasn’t ready for it coming from an artist who had come to be regarded as the Ivory Queen of Soul.

On Saturday as I drove, I wondered whether I had sufficiently conveyed in a story in June that, of the artists who take the stage these days at the annual Hampton Jazz Festival, few are oriented in the genre.

Yet festgoers could be sure Teena was thoroughly jazz at her core. Her years of adapting the styles of two of her icons – Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughn – especially shine through in her “La Dona” and “Congo Square” albums.

During the drive, I told myself I should really thank my colleague who encouraged me to reach out one more time to Teena Marie’s camp in hopes of snagging an interview before her performance at the jazz fest.

What other female artist, for the past three decades, has written, arranged and produced all but two of her albums?

I thought that it’s such a shame that the greatest-hits crowd thinks of the Grammy-nominated artist only for the classics she began churning out in 1979 during her Motown years.

The hits include “I’m a Sucker for Your Love,” “Behind the Groove,” “Square Biz,” “I Need Your Lovin’,” “It Must Be Magic” and “Fire and Desire,” the epic duet with her mentor and punk-funk legend Rick James.

And it’s just not enough to bring up subsequent successes on the Epic label that included “Lovergirl,” “Out on a Limb,” “If I Were a Bell” and “Ooo La La La.”

I came home and checked my valuables case – the one that holds nothing but my complete catalog of the works by the woman born Mary Christine Brockert.

Only the truest fans know the world hasn’t heard most of her best work or been exposed to her reverential poetry or complex artwork. I thought about contacting her to suggest she do a few small-scale gigs in which she plays only the underground favorites – songs such as “Where’s California?,” “Sunny Skies,” “Shangri-la,” “Love Me Down Easy,” “You So Heavy,” “Black Rain,” “The Air I Breathe,” “Miracles Need Wings to Fly.”

Maybe throw in a few recent gems such as “Romantica,” “Congo Square” and “Baby Whose Is It?”

On Saturday, I thought a lot about her telling me how she chooses to do things her way, making the music she wants to make and not getting caught up in what image is popular at the moment.

That philosophy likely cost her commercial exposure that instead went to spotlight-seeking, camera-ready pop princesses and R&B vixens who weren’t confident their success could stand on the merits of their talent alone.

It was OK to her because among her 13 albums, a yet-to-be-released one and a demanding tour schedule, she’d managed to reap a life full of the blessings that come from touching others. She’d come a long way from her days as a young artist at Motown under the tutelage of James.

She’d brought so many lesser-known artists along, as well as collaborated with many of the greatest singers and musicians of our time. She could still bring a house down.

But it was time for her to slow down and do more for herself, see the world at her leisure, she said. It was time to pass the torch to her only blood daughter, the child she brought into the world on Dec. 25, 19 years ago to the day.

On Sunday, Teena Marie’s daughter found her dead in her sleep. She was 54. The world was not ready.

In a dizzying instant she became the protagonist of our Emerald City, a mystical love found and lost too soon.

Teena Marie bought us pots and pans.

The year was 1978 and photographer Bobby Holland and I, both 23 and cutting our teeth at Soul Newspaper, had just become roommates in a two bedroom mid-Wilshire Los Angeles apartment. World Headquarters. Without a cooking stove.

Teena would come visit Bobby in her little blue Chevy Vega with the black racing stripe and find us preparing “meals” (okay, grilled cheese) on a reversible electric waffle iron as if it were a six burner O’Keefe and Merritt. The day we got a stove, Teena came over with a bag from Fedco, where she’d bought us a Teflon skillet and some pots.

Back then, she wasn’t Teena Marie, as in TEENA MARIE. She was just this sandy-haired little white girl who, as seen in the black and white headshots Motown hired Bobby to shoot (they’re in cyberspace), resembled a teenager instead of an unknown 21 year-old singer/songwriter who, in the hands of bewildered staff producers, languished at the label for three years.

Teena was welcomed into our family of friends. She didn’t drink; back then, you couldn’t even get her to take a hit on a joint. A warm and simple young woman with a wise and folksy soul, Teena was also introspective and subtly melancholic, the way one is when their spirit searches for something.

Sometimes she’d sing her original songs for us, either a cappella or while accompanying herself on acoustic guitar or, when we came upon one somewhere, piano.

The three of us would ride in the front seat of Bobby’s white Pontiac Grand LeManns–the plates read “FUNK MOB” in honor of Parliament/Funkadelic–with Bobby behind the wheel, me on the door and Teena in the middle, tending to every song that came out of the radio.

Imagine cruising down La Brea one evening, on the way to have Mexican, with a voice harnessing the power and agility of say, a young Teena Marie– just months away from becoming TEENA MARIE–in your right ear. Think of that voice randomly slicing the car’s conversation with an exquisitely crafted ad-lib to Aretha’s “Until You Come Back Me (That’s What I’m Gonna Do)” or quietly putting a hurting on Enchantment’s “It’s You That I Need.”

She wouldn’t be showing off. I imagine much of the time, she wasn’t even conscious of it. Teena was simply one of those gifted people whose creativity was forever trying to be freed.

She was a soul singer who counted Smokey Robinson as a major influence. She liked ’70s R&B singer/songwriter Ronnie McNeir (with whom she later recorded a duet) and loved dramatic, swaying, soul and vocal jazz.

Which is why, when she excitedly told us Motown had assigned their hottest new artist to produce her first album–the Bootsy-after-taxes in dirty Levis and cheap jewelry (this was before the money) we’d seen swaggering through the halls of the label named Rick James–I thought it was all wrong. Rick was about the funk, which we absolutely loved, but Teena was more melodic and potentially expansive musically.

No matter. The day Teena began recording with Rick at Marvin Gaye’s private Sunset Blvd. studio, there were so many of us in the control booth, it’s a wonder Rick didn’t ask us all to leave. We were giddy over Teena finally getting the shot she deserved.

Her 1979 debut album, “Wild And Peaceful,” written and produced by Rick James, did exactly what it was supposed to. Marketed by Motown as a successful act’s protege, Teena got plenty of airplay at black radio.

Initially, record buyers thought she was black. Motown wanted it that way: fearing a white R&B singer wouldn’t get any love from a black demographic, the label strategically left Teena’s photo off the album’s cover. Ironically, in the ’60s, Motown also occasionally did this with its black artists, figuring if black faces weren’t on the cover, whites would feel more comfortable in buying the black music they loved.

As it turned out, blacks couldn’t care less about Teena’s hue. The more they learned about her through magazine interviews and television appearances, the more they embraced her. For the whole of her career, Teena’s fan base was 99.9 percent black (Joking, she mentioned to me playing Europe for the first time and quizzically looking out into an audience of mostly white faces). If blacks didn’t like her, it was because they didn’t care for her voice or style, not because she was some patronizing white chick.

The acceptance was incredibly gratifying to Teena (during first appearance on “Soul Train” in ’79, she was over the moon). Despite what anyone may have thought, she never tried to be anyone but herself. She couldn’t help that as a child she’d been raised among blacks and loved artists of another era, including Duke Ellington, Ella, Billie Holliday and a particular favorite, Sarah Vaughn.

However, while Teena enjoyed recording and performing, she was never entirely comfortable with celebrity. Too often it called for her to be something other than the curious, down-to-earth little girl she was back then.

Despite her blossoming talent as a writer, Teena had to plead with Motown for the opportunity to produce own her records. Females generally weren’t allowed to produce (Motown’s Valerie Simpson of the duo Ashford and Simpson was an exception); they weren’t considered qualified to tell a studio full of mostly male session musicians what to play.

To be sure, not every artist, male or female, is a producer. But Teena, proficient on piano and rhythm guitar, possessed a succinct understanding of what she wanted her music to sound like. When Motown let her write and produce her own albums is when the world was presented a clearer musical portrait of Teena. Songs like “I Need Your Lovin’,” “Ooh La La” and “Square Biz” illustrated her ability to create a radio-ready ditty, while “Portuguese Love” and “Casanova Brown” revealed clear compositional skills.

Time and personal goals change everything. Teena and Bobby parted ways. At some point, the only time I saw Teena was when I was assigned to interview her. But we all remained friends. Many of the people we introduced her to during that period, just regular ol’ people, she kept in contact with over the span of her life. Last time I saw Teena was a little over a year ago, backstage somewhere. She was the same Teena–loving and warm, asking about people. Asking about me.

Bobby, who’d introduced me to her all those years ago, was the first to call with the news. Numb actually has a sound: it resonates a quiet, pained resignation. It vibrates with the ominous fear of personal mortality.

Teena would have been moved at how quickly word of her passing traveled through a stunned black America. She’d be humbled that pop music giants such as Motown founder Berry Gordy, producers Gamble and Huff, the hip hop community and others in between all publicly express sadness that she is gone.

I was surprised to see that Teena was only 54. I knew that, I guess. But after all this time, she still felt like my younger sis. To me, her tender disposition had forever cast her as a much younger spirit–a spirit I sincerely hope has finally found what it was searching for.

'Ivory Queen of Soul', Teena Marie, Dies At Age 54 ~ I Enjoyed Reading This Australian Newspaper Description Of Her Lifestory The Most! Teena Marie Is Being Remembered And Honored WORLDWIDE ♥

The Sydney Morning Herald
written by MCT
Tuesday December 28, 2010 at 12:28pm

It’s impossible to lend an ear to today’s crop of R&B divas without hearing just a little bit of Teena Marie.

Though she never had the blockbuster commercial success or universal household appeal of some of her peers (Patti Labelle, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston quickly come to mind), Marie -- who died Sunday at age 54 -- left a perhaps more important, and lasting, contribution to R&B than record sales: She made the genre colourless.

Venturing through the self-proclaimed Ivory Queen of Soul’s back catalogue, it’s easy to see how everyone from Mary J. Blige to Faith Evans to Alicia Keys got some of their groove.

However, Marie’s career was forever highlighted by the fact that she was a white woman singing historically black music -- something that doesn’t even remotely warrant a second guess in today’s landscape of artists of every race tackling any genre and gaining success.

But Marie was always different. Though she never catapulted into the more bankable pop world, she broke ground.

After the Santa Monica-born songstress got her big break at Motown Records in the late '70s, she rode a wave of hits -- "Lovergirl," "I'm a Sucker for Your Love" "Ooh La La La" and "Square Biz" are all required listening -- and Marie was a girl whose debut album, “Wild and Peaceful,” famously opted not to include a photo of her on the cover, out of fear that R&B listeners might not buy or accept her because of her race.

Marie did what at the time was thought to be the impossible: crossing over to black radio and retail stores -- and staying there. She could have easily become a novelty act because of her colour, but she didn’t.

And how could she?

Whether you were slow dancing to “Fire and Desire” (a simmering duet with her mentor and frequent collaborator, the late Rick James) in the '80s or a kid digging through their parent's album collection and discovering the upbeat frenzy of “Square Biz,” Lady T found her way into the hearts of every R&B fan.

Unlike some rap purists who downplayed Eminem as he was rising, Marie made it impossible to question her authenticity. She sang with such passion, conviction and blues that she was often labeled “a black girl trapped in a white woman’s body.” Her extensive catalog is pure R&B, though the girl had funk -- watching her behind the rhythm guitar, keyboards or percussion, she had the swagger of the big boys, including James. But she was all her own.

Her showmanship -- the way she worked the stage with that big brazen hair, seductive dance moves and that voice -- erased any naysayers who might have said that whites couldn’t sing soul.

The Times obituary of Marie mentions a 1981 performance at the Long Beach Arena that seemed to define her standing: "A tiny young woman with a powerful voice, Marie is a terrific singer and, quite frankly, better than nearly all her black competitors."

Current soulful acts such as Amy Winehouse, Adele, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Robin Thicke might cite James Brown, Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson as inspirations into the world of rhythm and blues, but had Marie not crossed over, R&B might not be the embracing, ever-evolving genre that it is today.

In a 1980 interview with The LA Times, Marie talked at length about how some listeners refused to believe she was white.

"I tell them I'm white, but they think I'm black and I'm trying to pass for white.... This is white skin. I'm not trying to fool anybody.

"I'm a different kind of person. Blacks and whites don't really react in any special way to me. I don't get anything negative from blacks and not really anything negative from whites now. But I will say it was different before I started getting some popularity. I don't think it was prejudice from whites as much as ignorance of something they didn't know much about. You know, I wish I was colorless sometimes."

Lenny Kravitz YouTube Message For The Beautiful ♥ Teena Marie ♥

Kravitz dubs Marie a 'treasure' as he recalls her generosity when he was starting out in music.

Teena Marie's sudden death is hitting many of the late R&B veteran's friends and family hard, including her onetime mentee-turned-rock star Lenny Kravitz.

In a video posted on the rocker's YouTube channel, Kravitz, looking sullen in a dark hoodie, reveals that he woke up in Paris to the news of Marie's passing and opens up about her generosity and assistance when he was starting his career as a teen.

"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Teena. She took me in when I was around 16. I was just a musician on the street. I was living from pillar to post. She took me in, she gave me a bedroom, she fed me, she cooked for me, she took care of me. She gave me instruments to play, she took me to all her recording sessions. She took me to concerts, she nurtured me and helped me to become who I am," Kravitz says. He added that although he hadn't publicly discussed their relationship before now and lost touch in the years before her death, he's still grateful for everything she did for him in those early years.

"I've never really talked much about it in depth, but I would not be here. She changed my life, not only as an artist, but as a person who truly loved me for who I was. We'd been out of contact for the last few years, but I just want to say, Teena, that I will always love and respect you," he says. "Thank you for being my friend. Thank you, Father, for the life of Teena Marie."

The "Again" singer also sent condolences to Marie's loved ones and touted the late songstress' many skills.

"I just want to send all my love and respect out to the family and I just want to say Teena Marie was a treasure, was a genius," he says. "Composer, arranger, singer, musician, unique, underrated by far."

RIP Teena Marie (Lady T) Thank You For Blessing Us With Your Musical Talent! You Were A One Of A Kind ORIGINAL! There Will Never Be Another Like You! I Still Can't Believe You Are Gone. :*(

Teena Marie will live on in our hearts thru her
♥ MUSIC ♥
I'm still remembering Teena Marie. I'm grateful that music is universal and knows no bounds. It's really sad that people tried really hard to make you fit in an illusory predetermined niche/stereotype. That has remained the problem with society and that is what we all must fight really hard to push through as Teena Marie did and just be your UNIQUE self by sharing your natural talent. The world will thank you later.

"Out on a Limb" is one of my favorite of her's.

RIP Teena Marie (Lady T) ♥ She passed away this morning at the age of 54. SO YOUNG! Teena Marie is survived by her daughter Alia Rose. I can't even begin to imagine how she must be feeling right now being that I too am an only child. I know that they were very close. I send her daughter my condolences, love and prayers. May God give her daughter the strength that she will need to get through this trying time. Teena Marie is asking those of you closest to her to step up to the plate and watch over her daughter as if she were your own. She will be eternally grateful for this favor you have bestowed unto her.

For the record: Teena Marie was a composer, arranger, singer, musician and trail blazer!

"In 1982, Marie got into a heated legal battle with Motown records over her contract and disagreements about releasing her new material. The scuffle resulted in "The Teena Marie Law" aka "The Brockert Initiative", which makes it illegal for a record company to keep an artist under contract without releasing new material for that artist. In such instances, artists are able to sign and release with another label instead of being held back by an unsupportive one. Teena Marie commented on the law in an LA Times article, saying, "It wasn't something I set out to do. I just wanted to get away from Motown and have a good life. But it helped a lot of people, like Luther Vandross and the Mary Jane Girls, and a lot of different artists, to be able to get out of their contracts." [source: wikipedia]

I just found out that her daughter's birthday is on Christmas day and her mom passed away the morning after. :*(

These are a few of @MsTeenaMarie last tweets on Christmas:

"19 yrs ago today, I was in labor! My heavenly father gave me the most glorious gift I could ever receive. A Baby girl on Christmas!"

"May Gods Light always shine on you and your family! May you have the most joyous Holliday season ever! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"

"Happy Birthday Baby Jeshua! You fill my Life with Love Always! Thankyou for Being Born!"

The History of Creation

From The Book of Genesis
Genesis 1 (NKJV)
1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. Then, the earth was WITHOUT form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the (Holy) SPIRIT of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

3. Then God said, “Let there be LIGHT”; and there was light. 4. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

6. Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” 7. Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. 8. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. 9. Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

11. Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 13. So the evening and the morning were the third day.

14. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15. and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18. and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20. Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an ABUNDANCE of LIVING CREATURES, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.” 21. So God created GREAT sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22. And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.” 23. So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24. Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

26. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. [This is the day God created ALL of the races. The Gentiles. (emphasis mine)] 28. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29. And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31. Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Genesis 2 (NKJV)
1. Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

4. This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5. before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6. but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
7. And the LORD God formed man of the DUST of the ground, and BREATHED into his nostrils the breath of LIFE; and man became a LIVING BEING.

Life in God’s Garden
[ADAM and EVE were created seperately on the eight day and placed in the garden of eden for His pleasure. This is the blood line from where Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel), Joseph, Moses, David, and Jesus (Yahshua) would come through. God's beloved. (emphasis mine)]

8. The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9. And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The Holiness of God ~ WOW This Is An AMAZING Interpretation! I Have Been Left In AWE ~~~ PLEASE READ

Holiness of God
By Pastor Nick Bibile

One of the major differences between Christianity and other religions is that God of the Bible is infinitely holy. The Hebrew word, "to be holy" is quadash, it is derived from the root word qud, which means to cut or separate. God is absolutely separated and is above from all his creatures and he is exalted above in infinite majesty."Who among the gods is like you, O LORD ? Who is like you; majestic in holiness, awesome in glory" (Exodus 15:11) In fact some of the most vivid displays of Gods holiness is displayed in the Old Testament. One of the greatest passages is found in Isaiah chapter six.

HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE LORD

Isaiah prophesied during the reign of four kings over a period of sixty years. One of the kings that lived during Isaiahs time was king Uzziah. He became a king when he was 16 years old and reigned the nation for 52 years. Now that is a pretty long time. Its like American people experiencing 13 presidents ruling in their 4 year terms. It was like saying, long live the king, as generations have experienced the rule of Uzziah. But the king died. When he died, apparently the entire nation was feeling a sense of panic and fear, as their leader is dead. Isaiah the prophet went to the temple of God, and he sees another king, an eternal King, sitting on his throne.

"In the year that king Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple." (Isaiah 6:1)

When you see the word Lord, here it refers to Adhonay in Hebrew meaning the sovereignty of God. But when you see the word LORD in capital, it refers to the name of God, Yahweh.

The human king is dead but the sovereign king of the Universe is alive, His Kingship is forever and it never ends. This is a picture of His majesty, His glory and power. The exalted one who became a servant. Yes, he is the one who became flesh. Apostle John said, "Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus glory and spoke about him." (John 12:41)

Isaiah 6:2 says, "Above him were seraphs, each with six wings, with two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying."

These angels were created and designed to proclaim the holiness of God. They were flying with two wings above the throne of God. This is the exaltation of his throne. Then it says that they covered their feet with two wings. Why did they cover their feet? In Exodus chapter three we see how God appeared to Moses in a burning bush. God said to Moses, "Do not come any closer; take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." (Exodus 3:5) But this is just a normal place, where Moses is familiar with this area. Why is it that only now this spot suddenly became holy? Whenever Gods presence appears everything becomes sanctified. It was Gods presence that made the ground holy. When God descended in a fire to Mt. Sinai, prior to that he told the people to consecrate themselves. (Exodus 19) Here in Isaiah the angels cover their feet because of the presence of Gods holiness. Just imagine, if we see an angel, that would be awesome. But even the angels are covering their feet as Gods holiness brings his absolute majesty and glory.

Then it says with two wings they covered their face. Do you know why the angels cover their faces? In Exodus 33:18, Moses asked the Lord to show His glory. God said, "You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live." (Exodus 33:20) It is absolutely impossible to see the infinite glory of His majesty, not even the angelic creatures, How awesome is His glory! Then God told Moses, "You may stand on a rock. When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand, until I passed by. Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen." (Exodus 33:22-23)

The God of the Universe is infinitely holy, even these angelic beings cannot see the full glory of Him.

Then in Isaiah 6:3, the angels were calling to one another:
"Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."

This is the only time in the Bible an attribute of God being repeated three times. The Bible say that God is love, but not love, love, love. According to Jewish custom, when they wanted to emphasize a point they repeated it two times. Jesus said, "Truly, truly I say unto you" This mean it is absolutely truly what he was going to say. But here in Isaiah Gods holiness is repeated not to the second degree but to the third degree, which means he is infinitely holy. On the other hand the Antichrist is called with the number 666, repeated to the third degree of evil.

The holiness of God is somewhat different than all His other attributes, as God is holy in all His attributes. He is holy in His Goodness, holy in his Justice, holy in His Wrath, etc., He is majestic in His Holiness, because His name is Holy. In the past the name of a person reflects the character of that individual. Gods name is holy, that means all what he thinks and does is holy. "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name" (Matt. 6:9) "For this is what the high and lofty One says, who lives forever, whose name is holy; I live in high and holy place" (Isaiah 57:15)

The scribes who copied one manuscript to another, when it came to the name of God, they used another pen, and even if a king was passing by when he was writing the name of God, the scribe will not look at the king as the name of God is infinitely holy than anything else.

We can never fully understand the holiness of God. It is immeasurable. He is infinitely holy and the ten commandments reveal his holiness to mankind. Thats why no one can keep the commandments, we all fall short fall of His glory.

Jesus (Yahshua) IS The Living Breathing WORD Of God; The Holy Spirit Comes To Live INSIDE Of YOU Is The Breath Of God; God IS HOLY

(King James Version)

1 In the beginning WAS THE WORD, and the Word WAS WITH God, and the Word WAS God.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was LIFE; and the LIFE was the LIGHT of men.

5 And the LIGHT SHINETH in darkness; and the darkness comprehended IT NOT.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the LIGHT, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that LIGHT.

9 That was the TRUE LIGHT, which lighteth EVERY man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him NOT.

11 He came unto his own, and HIS OWN received him NOT.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he POWER to become the sons of God, even to them that BELIEVE on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, BUT OF God.

14 And the WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of GRACE and TRUTH.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

17 For the LAW was given by Moses, but GRACE and TRUTH CAME by Jesus Christ.

18 No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Jesus (Yahshua) Is The LIGHT Of The WORLD

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 KJV)

Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? A man who walks by day will not stumble, for he sees by this world's light. It is when he walks by night that he stumbles, for he has no light." (John 11:9-10 NIV)

Then Jesus told them, "You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light." (John 12:35-36 NIV)

And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. (1 John 1:4-7 KJV)

You, O LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. (Psalm 18:28 NIV)

The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. (Psalm 19:18 NIV)

The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1 NIV)

For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life. (Psalm 56:13 NIV)

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O LORD. ((Psalm 89:15 NIV)

He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent. (Psalm 104:2 NIV)

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. (Psalm 139:11-12 NIV)

The Word of LIFE and Walking in the LIGHT

(New International Version)

The WORD of Life

1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of LIFE. 2 The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We write this to make our joy complete.

Walking in the LIGHT

5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is LIGHT; in him there is NO darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the TRUTH. 7 But if we walk in the LIGHT, as he is in the LIGHT, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, PURIFIES us from all sin.

8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will FORGIVE us our sins and PURIFY us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Love, Peace and Joy to you all!

The Visit of the Magi to Baby Jesus (Yahshua)

The Visit of the Magi

1. After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2. and asked, "Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him."

3. When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. 4. When he had called together all the people's chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Christ was to be born. 5. "In Bethlehem in Judea," they replied, "for this is what the prophet has written:

6. "'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.'"

7. Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared. 8. He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."

9. After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen in the east went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. 10. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. 11. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh. 12. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

The Escape to Egypt

13. When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him." 14. So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt, 15. where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son."

16. When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi. 17. Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:

18. "A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more."

The Birth of Jesus (Yahshua)

The Birth of Jesus

1. In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2.(This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3. And everyone went to his own town to register.

4. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7. and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

The Shepherds and the Angels

8. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord. 12. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14. "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

15. When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

16. So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18. and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

The Birth of John the Baptist and Jesus Foretold

The Birth of John the Baptist Foretold

5. In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. 6. Both of them were upright in the sight of God, observing all the Lord's commandments and regulations blamelessly. 7. But they had no children, because Elizabeth was barren; and they were both well along in years.

8. Once when Zechariah's division was on duty and he was serving as priest before God, 9. he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, to go into the temple of the Lord and burn incense. 10. And when the time for the burning of incense came, all the assembled worshipers were praying outside.

11. Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13. But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. 14. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, 15. for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth. 16. Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. 17. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous—to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

18. Zechariah asked the angel, "How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years."

19. The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. 20. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time."

21. Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple. 22. When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.

23. When his time of service was completed, he returned home. 24. After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion. 25. "The Lord has done this for me," she said. "In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people."

The Birth of Jesus Foretold

26. In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27. to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 28. The angel went to her and said, "Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you."

29. Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30. But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33. and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

34. "How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?"

35. The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month. 37. For nothing is impossible with God."

38. "I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left her.

Mary Visits Elizabeth

39. At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, 40. where she entered Zechariah's home and greeted Elizabeth. 41. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42. In a loud voice she exclaimed: "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! 43. But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44. As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. 45. Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!"

Was Jesus (Yahshua) Born On December 25th?

Wow! I like the way this answer was put together. I've heard people ask this question many times before and would like to share this answer with you. I was led to this website "All About Jesus Christ" same time last year where I have taken the following information for you to enjoy!

*******************************************************

Was Jesus born on December 25?

Was Jesus born on December 25? There is no evidence for this date. So then, who decided that Jesus' birth would be celebrated on that date? The early Christian church did not celebrate Jesus' birth. It wasn't until A.D. 440 that the church officially proclaimed December 25 as the birth of Christ. This was not based on any religious evidence but on a pagan feast. Saturnalia was a tradition inherited by the Roman pagans from an earlier Babylonian priesthood. December 25 was used as a celebration of the birthday of the sun god. It was observed near the winter solstice.

The apostles in the Bible predicted that some Christians would adopt pagan beliefs to enable them to make their religion more palatable to the pagans around them. Therefore, some scholars think the church chose the date of this pagan celebration to interest them in Christianity. The pagans were already used to celebrating on this date.

The Bible itself tells us that December 25 is an unlikely date for His birth. Palestine is very cold in December. It was much too cold to ask everyone to travel to the city of their fathers to register for taxes. Also the shepherds were in the fields (Luke 2:8-12). Shepherds were not in the fields in the winter time. They are in the fields early in March until early October. This would place Jesus' birth in the spring or early fall. It is also known that Jesus lived for 33.5 years and died at the feast of the Passover, which is at Easter time. He must therefore have been born six months the other side of Easter - making the date around the September/October time frames.

Other evidence that December 25 is the wrong date for the birth of Jesus comes from early writings. Iranaeus, born about a century after Jesus, notes that Jesus was born in the 41st year of the reign of Augustus. Since Augustus began his reign in the autumn of 43 B.C., this appears to substantiate the birth of Jesus as the autumn of 2 B.C. Eusebius (A.D. 264-340), the "Father of Church History," ascribes it to the 42nd year of the reign of Augustus and the 28th from the subjection of Egypt on the death of Anthony and Cleopatra. The 42nd year of Augustus ran from the autumn of 2 B.C. to the autumn of 1 B.C. The subjugation of Egypt into the Roman Empire occurred in the autumn of 30 B.C. The 28th year extended from the autumn of 3 B.C. to the autumn of 2 B.C. The only date that would meet both of these constraints would be the autumn of 2 B.C.

John the Baptist also helps us determine that December 25 is not the birth of Jesus. Elizabeth, John's mother, was a cousin of Mary. John began his ministry in the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar. The minimum age for the ministry was 30. As Augustus died on August 19, A.D. 14, that was the accession year for Tiberius. If John was born on April 19-20, 2 B.C., his 30th birthday would have been April 19-20, A.D. 29, or the 15th year of Tiberius. This seems to confirm the 2 B.C. date, and, since John was 5 months older, this also confirms an autumn birth date for Jesus.

Another interesting fact comes from Elizabeth herself. She hid herself for 5 months and then the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary both Elizabeth's condition and that Mary would also bear a son who would be called Jesus. Mary went "with haste" to visit Elizabeth, who was then in the first week of her 6th month, or the 4th week of Dec., 3 B.C. If Jesus was born 280 days later it would place his birth on Sept. 29, 2 B.C. Some scholars interpret the 6 months to be in line with the Hebrew calendar or the August-September time frame. Since Mary's pregnancy commenced a little before the sixth month around July, Jesus would be born somewhere around March-June.

But does it matter if Jesus was born on the spring, the fall, or on December 25? Does it matter, theologically, when Jesus was born? What do you think, does it matter what day we celebrate His birth?

What Is In A Name? 'Yah vs. Yeh'

I was led to this website searching for the origin of Jesus' name. I did this because I know that his Hebrew name, the one that he was given at birth is Yahshua. I wanted to share some facts with you so that you too could have this knowledge. Again, what does it matter when Jesus was born? What matters is that December 25th has become a day for those who believe to come together all around the world in celebration and rememberance. Christmas is derived from 'Christ mass', holiday is derived from 'Holy day' and Santa Claus is derived from 'Saint Nicholas'. This is a day that brings everybody joy. Why would you want to change that?

For those who do not believe (aetheist), what does it hurt you to let them be. Why don't you show respect for their beliefs that you are fighting so vehemently to receive yourself? The unbelievers (aetheist) are doing the same thing, trying to controversally influence others to their point of view. The unbeliever (aetheist) in my opinion is just as much of a hypocrite as the Christian extremist, Muslim extremist and Jewish extremist. You're a hypocrite because you are trying to impose your non-belief onto everyone else. Isn't that precisely what you can't stand about the extreme fundamentalist, the imposition of beliefs? If you don't believe, just don't celebrate and leave it be. Why don't you just create a day when all of you un-believers can come together and call it even. It makes no difference to me that you don't believe. That's your right and I respect you for that. In fact, I wouldn't care if you worshipped a rock. All I care is that you treat everybody with kindness and respect. Isn't that how you would want others to treat you?

I'm curious, why are you non-believers not making a big hoopla about Ramadan, Hanukkah or Kwaanza? Why are the words Christmas or God such a threat to you that you find it necessary to abolish them? Hhmmm... Does Jesus scare you that much that you need to erase Him entirely? Why don't you care this much about Buddha, Muhammad or the several gods the Hindu's worship? Hhmmm...

‘Yah vs. Yeh’
Now one last issue to address for those who dogmatically want to argue for Yehshua/Yeshua instead of Yahshua, is in regard to what Yahshua himself said about his name. First, I want to address the argument usually given in defense of Yehshua/Yeshua as the ‘right name.’ Most of the time, the Yehshua/Yeshua camp, argues from the point of the reason that the angel of Yahweh gives for Messiah’s name. In Matthew 1:21 he tells Miriam (‘Mary’) that the reason she is to give the certain name to Messiah is because he will save his people from their sins. In Hebrew (biblical) custom, all names carry meaning and are given with that meaning in purpose (see Gen 32:28-30 for example).

So we know that Messiah’s name will carry the meaning, “He will save.” The Yehshua/Yeshua camp correctly understands this, however, when applying this principle, they take the root word for save, which is Yesha, and they apply this to the Hebrew abbreviated name, Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin ([wvy), and they incorrectly call the name Yehshua/Yeshua. Now they actually use the correct Hebrew spelling for the abbreviated form of the name - Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin ([wvy). However, because they fail to understand that the name Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin ([wvy) is merely an abbreviation of Yahushua (Yod-Hay-Waw-Shin-Ayin - [vwhy ) and not a different name, they conclude that Yehshua/Yeshua is the correct name for Messiah, simply because it does mean “He will save.”

That would seem to be the end of it - case closed, right? Well, basically, yeah it is. The only problem is that the Yehshua/Yeshua crowd neglects to acknowledge that the Yod-Shin-Waw-Ayin ([wvy) is actually the abbreviated form of Yahushua, thereby making the transliterated form Yahshua, not Yehshua/Yeshua. And yet, there is another part of this ‘puzzle’ that clears up any still lingering confusion about whether Messiah’s name is Yahshua or Yehshua/Yeshua. That other part is what Yahshua himself said about his name and who he was. In John 5:43 Yahshua said, “I have come in the name of my Father.” This statement is key in understanding Messiah’s name. Not only does this statement clearly tell us that he came in the authority of his Father, Yahweh, but it gives us a huge clue in knowing his name.

As before, we must keep the understanding of the great meaning that is conveyed in Hebrew names. When we use the proper Hebraic understanding, what we see here is that Yahshua said he came in his Father’s name - literally meaning that he carried the name, or banner, of his Father, Yahweh. This other part of the puzzle lets us know that Messiah’s name carries two meanings - the meaning of “He will save” and the very name (banner) of his Father. If his name was Yehshua/Yeshua, then his name does not convey that he came in his Father’s name as it should, but that he came in his own name. The reason is as follows.

His Father’s name is Yahweh. Yahshua told us that he came in his Father’s name, thus, his Father’s name should either be in Yahshua’s name or Yahshua’s name should in some way convey the Father’s name. The feminine passive participle word, Yehshua/Yeshua does not do that, however, the name Yahshua does. You will notice that the first syllable of Yahweh is Yah. You will also notice that the first syllable of both Yahushua and the abbreviated Yahshua is also Yah.

Yah not only conveys the very name of the Father, Yahweh, but Yah is even used as the abbreviated form of the Father’s name in Psalm 68:4 (see Strong’s # 3050). When Yah, conveying the name of the Father, is combined with Yasha, meaning to save, we have the name Yahushua or Yahshua, which means “Yah will save” or “salvation is of Yah.” Thus Yahshua (or its full form) properly fulfills both, what the angel told Miriam (Mary) about Messiah’s name, and what Messiah himself tells us about his name. Salvation is of Yahweh through the one who comes in His name to save his people from sin - Yahshua.

So what should we conclude from all this? Is this a bunch of unnecessary information that just complicates matters? No, I certainly don't think so. I think it's pretty simple actually. When we’re saying the Messiah’s name, it doesn't matter if you say Yahshua or Yehshua/Yeshua, because essentially the same name is being spoken despite your personal vocal flare on the Yah or Yeh. So does this mean we just went over all that stuff for nothing? Of course not. I believe that when we are specifically trying to teach others the name of the Messiah, that it is important to teach the proper name of Yahshua. It’s simply a matter of teaching correctness, not preference. However, if writing about other topics than the specific teaching of Messiah’s name, if your preference is to use Yehshua or Yeshua, then by all means do so.

Yeshua is easier and faster to type than Yahshua or Yahushua. But I stress the importance of using the correct name, Yahshua, anytime that one is teaching or writing about the name of the Messiah in particular, because it should be taught correctly. But hopefully this slightly more detailed explanation on the Messiah’s name will help to put out those argument fires between the Yahshua folks and the Yehshua/Yeshua folks. And now we can have a closer more meaningful communion together without the tension of the name issue always lurking around the corner amongst Messianic Believers. ~ Shalom.
