When I read this news today, I was totally shocked this law actually passed. I posted this article on Facebook and I would like to share the conversation that transpired with my fb friends as a result. These comments are actually enlightening in many ways.
Josette (me): UGH! :/ This is so absurd! It doesn't SOLVE the obese problem at all. The TOY IS NOT THE PROBLEM!
Ranny: What?!? Jo, you surprise me once again ... wasn't it you who told me she liked fat hamburgers with extra cheese and bacon? and you won't give the childs the pleasure to play with their food? Imagine the happiness a child expires when its killing its double-onion-extra-cheese-overloaded-mayo-plastic-meet-burger with a clingone-warrior :)
Josette: @Ranny, LOL yes I still feel that way. What I am disappointed about is "this group" targeted McDonalds and blamed the toy for childhood obesity when in fact it is the PARENTS RESPONSIBILITY to monitor what the child is eating and how much. NOT the restaurants responsibility. This is the start of our government encroaching on our RIGHT TO CHOOSE and make decisions for ourselves. The whole of American society is being punished because a small percentage is being adversely affected by their "personal" negative eating habits. If "this group" and our govt can get away with this action, it's only the first negative step leading to other manners in which they'll start DICTATING our eating habits by IMPOSING these kinds of OBSCENE restrictions on restaurants then they'll target grocery stores! :/

No more potato chips, no more soda, no more candy etc. I'm just being facetious. But then again if we don't stop this nonsense it could come true.

You could learn quite a lot from us, just one thing i prefer in the us - the pure capitalism.
Josette: @Ranny, fast food is to be eaten in moderation. In the same way alcohol can be enjoyed in moderation. The reason why Americans are so obese is that they live to eat instead of eating to live. Food has become an addiction for most. Just like shopaholic's, alcoholic's, drug addicts, compulsive hoarding. Food is being used as escapism to the extreme. They are not dealing with their CORE PSYCHOLOGICAL EMOTIONAL issues.

To all of you Progressive Socialist that HATE American values so damn much, I have no shame in saying that I love America! and I will fight tooth and nail to keep the precious FREEDOMS our Constitution grants us. If you want to live in a Socialist society, by all means you are FREE to move to European countries that are NOW SUFFERING FROM IT if that's the restrictive lifestyle you want so badly!
Oh and a sidenote to all my readers. I noticed the Green Party on my California ballot yesterday for the first time. Perhaps they were there in elections past and my eye's are finally open to their existence in America that caused me to notice. Heck I have to say that has to be the one good thing that has come out of Obama's presidency. The fact that the Socialist groups and Communist groups have BOLDLY come out of the closet and have made their presence known to ALL of America. I honestly had no idea they existed in America and with such a huge following. Everything does happen for a reason. I prayed for the truth and God handed it to me on a silver plater by shining a bright LIGHT on them. Think about it, had Hillary Clinton or John McCain won the presidency in 2008 these groups would still be operating under the radar and by the time "WE" figured them out it would be too late to reverse course. We have no excuse now that the truth has been revealed to us! Knowledge is POWER.
For those of you who are not aware, the US Green Party is a branch or extension of the European Green party which is comprised of radical environmentalist and socialist and union socialist. They're on the ballot now and obviously expanding their influence across America in many ways, shapes and forms. I just looked up the Green Party of California and apparently they've been on the ballot since 1991. If you would like more information please read the Four Pillars of the Green Party.
"Social Justice" is their mantra. It sounds pretty doesn't it? These groups sure know how to pervert words. Because their kind of "Social Justice" has NOTHING to do with individual rights. You must "think" and "act" like the collective or else see ya, buh-bye! Meaning you, the individual who stands up and questions their assumptions are DISPENSABLE! I like to refer to these people as invasion of the soul snatchers, the CLONE machine. Their kind of "Social Justice" is basically an IMPOSITION on individual rights. Imposition is defined as: "To thrust oneself offensively upon others; intrude. To force others to change behavior. To take unfair advantage of; misuse (influence, friendship, etc.). To defraud; cheat; deceive." You know I have to say they are no different than the Religious zealots (nuts) who try to IMPOSE their beliefs on us.
How do you think "they" intend to IMPOSE their idea of "Social Justice" upon the American society? Think about this for a minute. Expand your vision as you think about it. In order to make their influence become a reality, 1) they must infiltrate government at all levels in order to have existing laws changed. 2) they must infiltrate our national public education system to pump out more clones that are trapped in a classroom and easy to mold. 3) they must take over the labor unions because the union member is beholden, indebted to the collective union body if they want to keep their job. So it's easier to mold them to their beliefs and mandate loyalty. This is already happening in America now as we speak. They invaded the Democratic party with many democratic politicians beholden to them. Now that is truly deceitful don't you think? Why didn't they just come right out and run in the elections as the "Socialist Party" or the "Communist Party"? Hmm? Because that would be too much an afront, in your face statement that would wake all of us up sooner rather than later and the majority of Americans would nip them in the bud. They couldn't risk that. So they chose the deceitful route. A sow's ear dressed up to look like a silk purse is still a sow's ear.
We need to remain vigilant. If you don't believe me please do yourself a favor and internet search Communist Party USA and Socialist Party USA. The media and Obama supporters have made it a point to keep bringing up the KKK so your focus can remain on them and have tried their damdest to link the KKK to the T.E.A. party. They even still call us extreme right-wing! LOL! The T.E.A. party is made up of democrats, independents, libertarians and republicans! The KKK has NEVER been invited to a T.E.A. party event and is NOT WELCOME! Obama's media would have you believe we are the threat. All the while, BOTH these parties make up a LARGE portion of President Obama's political base. Hmm... DISTRACTION? I'd say so.
