This is such a trip! I was just thinking about this as I was posting on my blog earlier. I'm part Mexican on my mother's side. I have traveled all over Mexico with my grandmother and my mom every summer as a child and into my adolescence, from north to south, west to the east. I truly love and appreciate my Mexican roots. I also speak proper Spanish fluently. I took chicano studies in Jr. College as an elective. It's funny because now that I think back, it was my academic counselor who steered me into that class. I didn't mind because I have an OPEN MIND and like to learn new things. This is what they taught, Aztlan. I still have the books. But it never dawned on me then what I'm beginning to understand now. Would you believe these people would not see me as one of their own because I dressed differently, I didn't act like them and I spoke proper english. I make no apologies for being me. It didn't bother me none back then as it does not bother me now. I don't need to belong to any group to have self-esteem. Now I'm not saying that I was any better or any worse. My point is that I was being judged by this group because I didn't fit their mold of what a Latina is supposed to be. Mexico is part of my blood line. They can't take that away from me. Had they looked beyond their clouded eyes, they would have discovered that I'm a really great person and could have become a very good friend.
I had dinner with my aunt and 92 yr old grandfather. We were debating the AZ issue. I kept saying there has to be something greater behind the fight to defend illegals. Because a woman in SF lost her husband and two son's to a cold blooded murderer while they were going on a trip. He just happened to be an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT gang member with a CRIMINAL HISTORY no less and would you believe the civil rights attorney's PROTECTED his ass and this poor woman was NOT ABLE to get JUSTICE for her family who was KILLED!
So I kept saying WHY? WHY are civil rights attorney's DEFENDING AND PROTECTING illegal criminals?!?! I can understand defending an ILLEGAL LAW ABIDING IMMIGRANT but a CRIMINAL? WTF? Then my wise grandfather said, it has to be the Mexican Mafia who are paying these attorney's to defend and protect those who are committing the crimes such as drug smuggling and human trafficking. Then I said, it's groups like La Raza who is behind this kind of injustice who are in cahoots with the Mexican Mafia!
This is PURE HATRED. It's so sad that hispanic civil rights leaders and black civil rights leaders teach new generations this kind of HATRED. This is NOT WHITE AMERICA. This United States of America is made up of ALL NATIONALITIES! So while you in this Aztlan movement are indeed wanting to cause severe pain to the white people in our country, you will also inflict pain on everybody else. BECAUSE WE ARE ALL AMERICANS. You know I don't give a damn what color anybody is. I care about who YOU are as a person and what is in your heart. I base my opinion of you by observing how you treat others and how you treat me. Based on what I'm beginning to understand with this movement, you are teaching PURE HATRED against an ENTIRE RACE for what our government did 200 years ago to the Mexicans. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Well with so much HATRED against white people coming from this nation of Aztlan movement, it leaves no doubt why white people would harbor hatred in return. YOU REAP AS YOU SOW!!! I have typed a transcript of this video below for my international readers.

The Nation of Aztlan
We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fullfill in this land that has historically been ours for 40,000 years and we're a new meztizo nation. This is our homeland. We cannot, we will not and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants free to travel the length and breath of the America's because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They're dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population. [Jose Angel Gutierrez, Professor U. of Texas, Arlington]
It's not enough to elect Latino leadership. If they're supporting legislation that deny's the undocumented doesn't belong in office my friends. They don't belong here. [Antonio Villaraigosa, Mayor of Los Angeles]
And those red necks that are out there making decisions for the betterment of their communities will think twice before they push forward anti-immigrant legislation against our community. You can be as revolutionary as you want. You can be chicano-nationalist. You can believe in the concept of Aztlan. You can believe in the concept of multi-culturalist. We don't have to give our lives. We're not at that point. But we can give a little. [Fabian Nunez, Speaker of California State Assembly]
Atzlan, the nation of Aztlan. You know when the extreme white wing talks about Aztlan, I guess it's from a guilty complex. They know what they did in Texas. [Herman Baca, Chicano Committee on Civil Rights]
We have the army. We have the infiltry. We have the artillary. All we have to combine it under one organized command. So we can ??? wage a war against those racists that are trying to ??? discriminate ???. [Armando Navarro, Professor UC Riverside]
The last gasp of white America. Understand that. People say to me on the Senate floor when I was in the Senate why are you fighting so hard for affirmative action programs and I tell my white collegues because you're going to need them. [Art Torres, Chairman CA Democratic Party]
You know when we look out in the audience and we see la familia, la raza it's a good feeling. Then you know I started to think about that and I says it reminded of a book we all read and we all heard about you know Paul Revere when he was saying "The British are coming, the British are coming." Well the latino's are coming, the latino's are coming. So that is what this agenda is about. It's about ensuring that we increase our numbers. That we increase our numbers at every level. And let me tell you we can't go back, you know we are in a civil war. United latino's will win. [Joe Baca, CA State Senator]
The de facto elimination of the border between Mexico and the United States. I believe that the debate revolving around our immigration policy should reflect the fact that this phenomenon is underway. [Tom Tancredo, CO Congressman]
