BREAKING NEWS: 6.9 MAG Earthquake Struck Baja California, MEXICO SSE Of Mexicali - USGS Has UPGRADED Earthquake To 7.2 MAG

I was sitting at my desk typing away when suddenly I started feeling dizzy and lightheaded as my body started swaying left to right. I thought to myself boy I've had way too much coffee and I need to eat. Then suddenly my chair started rolling left to right. I put my hands on the desk to stabilize myself and my home started literally swaying left to right. That is when I realized I was experiencing an earthquake. My cats started freaking out and my open door started to sway.

This was not the usual earthquake we normally experience here in Los Angeles, CA. This earthquake rolled and we normally have earthquakes that jolt up and down. I looked at the clock and it literally lasted about a minute. It felt like a ripple wave effect rolled north from the epicenter. I became somewhat nauseous from the whole experience. To give you a better idea of my experience, it was like being on a boat sailing through pretty strong waves and getting motion sickness as a result.

Mexicali - A magnitude-6.9 earthquake epicentered near Mexicali has rocked all of Southern California, and set high rise buildings in Los Angeles and San Diego rocking back and forth.

Preliminary USGS information indicated the epicenter was 19 miles southeast of Mexicali in Baja California, at an area that has been rocking with magnitude 3.0 quakes all week.

Los Angeles fire department officials have gone on earthquake status, and are inspecting buildings and overpasses for damage.

Elevators are stuck in some buildings in Los Angeles, according to fire department radio dispatches.

The earthquake was apparently felt as far away as Phoenix and Las Vegas.
