What's Been On Your Mind Lately? by Joyce Meyers Part 5 of 6

Wow! Joyce Meyers you totally rock! I love love love this message she gave today on TBN at 3:30pm. This message is SPOT ON! LOVE IT! I'm so glad TogetherInWorship posted these video's on YouTube so that I could share them with all of you. I have typed a transcript of this message for my international readers who need to translate. Enjoy!

*************************************************************************

God has a GREAT LIFE for you. And Romans 12 says that we will have to study the Word of God and that we will have our minds renewed and then and ONLY then will we really experience the wonderful plan that God has for our life. The MIND has to be renewed and this right here (she's holding up the bible) is the renewing tool. Because you don't even know you're thinking wrong until you look in here (she's holding up the bible) and find out how God thinks. All that junky thinking we do in the world. We just think it's the way you ought to think. It's the way everybody thinks. Momma thought this way. Daddy thought this way. Grandma thought this way. Everybody I know thinks this way. You don't even try to think any specific way because you just think whatever the devil dumps in your head and you don't even know you have a choice. But the TRUTH is you can choose what you want to think. Now it's going to take some training. It's going to take some effort. But you can choose what you want to think. II Corinthians chapter 3 says if we will continue in the Word of God we will see the image of Christ in there and we will be transformed into that image from Glory to Glory to Glory.

Now I want to get this in because I think it's important. It's just something I've been thinking about alot lately. You know it just amazes that so many people have such a hard time with prayer and bible study. And I get it, because I went through all that too. I don't mean like I'm so surprised that you have such a hard time. I mean we all go through that. Well obviously we know it's just the devil and he's trying to keep me out of the Word. But I also am coming to the conclusion that I think that alot of it is because and I want you to listen to me and get this, we have a religious MINDSET about the whole thing. Rather than approaching it with an attitude of FREEDOM and asking God to lead you in your prayer and to lead you in how you will study. We have these, I mean if you will, we have these religious walls. Somehow or another we get this, I don't know if comes down exactly like this for you. But I mean boy most people think they're really spiritual if they can read the bible through every year and pray an hour every day. It's actually almost kind of funny to me that sometimes you can never accomplish that and I think sometimes when we're trying to do it for all the wrong reasons God will never help us do it. I mean if you read the bible through every year that still doesn't mean you'd know anything. Amen! But oh we'd be proud. Yes sir, we'd be proud. We'd probably tell a few people and make sure they knew that we were doing it. But you see God is NOT interested in quantity. He is interested in QUALITY.

And the truth of the matter is you might read the whole book of Matthew and not get anything. But then again you might meditate on one verse for a week, but you get it. It's like I got it. Yeah I got it. But most people don't go around wow ONE VERSE! Woohoo, let me tell all of you that in the whole week I read one verse. No, we'd be ashamed of that. And so I just told somebody recently that has a struggle in this area. They're not as much of a book learner. Never have been. They're more of a hands on type person. You know different people learn in different ways. And praise God for all of the tools He's given us today. With the radio, the t.v., the dvd's and cd's and Ipod's. I mean good night if you can't get the Word today, then you have a serious problem. I mean you can download it off the internet and stick it in your ear all day long everywhere you go. You can take me with you everywhere you go. I told this person, you know what STOP having these mindsets of how much you think you have to do for it to be acceptable to God. Start just doing what you can and know that God is pleased with every little effort that you make. And because it's so hard for this person to read, I said you might read one page and you know you might get as much credit from God as I would if I read half a book. God doesn't place the same requirements on every person and He does NOT expect every person to do everything the exact same way. One person may pray three hours every morning and somebody else might never pray more than 2 minutes at a time, but they might pray all day.

And you'll hear me say this tomorrow night. I think I've got a really special Word to preach and I like it when God gives me something brand new. I think you've got to get to the point where you stop counting everything. You know David actually got cursed because he numbered the people. I think sometimes we're just counting too much. How long have I prayed? How much have I read? How long have I done this? How much have I done that? How many times have I gone to church? Why don't you learn to just live with God and every opportunity you get try to get a little Word into you. It may be a full meal. It may be a snack. It may be reading one page when you're in the bathroom. Is anybody home out there? Get rid of all those RELIGIOUS MINDSETS and PRECONCEIVED IDEAS about how you have to do it. You don't have to do it how Charles Finney did. You don't have to do it like Billy Graham does it. You don't have to do it like Joyce Meyers does it. You just NEED to get with God and let God give you a plan for your life and follow Him. I've decided there has to be something wrong for so many people to be struggling in this area and I know that they are good people that want to do it. But it's a struggle a struggle a struggle. And we always say that you know if you don't have time for God... And I believe all of that. I believe we have to give God first place of our time. And I know it takes discipline and I know it takes work and it takes dedication. But I do believe that you have to be led by the Holy Spirit. Some people are better in the morning. Some people are better at night.

You know for years my husband had to get up too early to go to work to be able to get up to study before he went and he spent his lunch hour every day, for years he would walk around the neighborhood in the area where he worked and talked to God and he got to work a little bit early and he would do some reading and read the bible and you know now he's got a world wide ministry. He didn't follow some pattern. He just followed God. Now I study alot, but God has called me as a teacher. And so He's given me a gift and an ability to do that. I love it. I'm passionate about it. If I can get a whole day to study, I'd think I've died and gone to heaven. But you know what I can't expect everybody else to do everything exactly the way that I do it. Because you might have the gift of encouragement and I don't know you may spend a half a day encouraging the people that I've run all over trying to get to my ministry. Come on!

Now here is the thing that happens, the bible says that we are going to be molded into His image. Well, got my Playdo here. This is you and me. Smash smash smash what are you doing God? Haha! Okay here it comes. This is a terrible example but we're going to pretend like this is Jesus. (she takes out a cookie cutter) Okay now you're born again... I receive Christ as my savior. Woo, there He is right there in the middle. Okay now I start reading this Word. See you can hardly see Him on this side. You have a pretty good view over here but nobody else can really tell much about that. Got a little work to do Joyce. (she starts peeling off the Playdo from the sides) Ooooh! Okay! Ooooh not that! You know each one of these might take 20 trips around the mountain in 10 years so... Well now He's starting to get the picture a little better here. And before you know it... there you are looking just like Jesus.
