How many of you think it would not be a pretty sight if all of a sudden your mind became a movie screen that everybody could see. Father we thank you for this Word and pray that it would be really impacting in people's lives and not just another message they hear but something that will be life changing. We ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
1 Corinthians 2:16 says, "Who has known or understood the mind, the counsel or purposes of the Lord so as to guide and instruct and give him knowledge. But we have the mind of Christ, the Messiah and we do hold the thougthts, feelings and purposes of His heart." That's an interesting scripture. Everybody say I have the mind of Christ.
Now you know we can have a lot of things and not operate in it. That's why sometimes some of the stuff that we read can almost confuse us if we don't really understand the whole picture. Actually the bible says that we have ALL of the fruit of the Spirit in us. The LOVE of God is shed abroad in our HEARTS by the Holy Ghost. The minute that we receive Christ, we receive the LOVE of God. It ought to flow to us and through us. We have righteousness, peace and joy, humility, self control. You say yeah well if I got it where's it at?
Well actually when your born again and I think this is something that more and more people really need to understand. This is been great for me to understand this. When your born again, when you receive Christ as your savior, He comes to live in your spirit. And your spirit is just made wholely and perfect because God can't dwell anywhere there is any sin. You're all cleaned up on the inside. That's why the bible says that he that knew no sin became sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ. So sometimes you see the bible talk about what you are in the spirit and then sometimes your experience compared to what you are in the spirit and what you do in the natural or in the flesh are like two opposite ends and so that's why Paul talks in Romans 7 about what is my problem the thing I want to do I don't do, the thing I don't want to do I'm always doing, well if I'm sinning but I don't really want to sin, is it really me sinning. It get's to be kind of like yeah Paul I'm having one of those days I didn't know anyone ever felt like that but me.
But the thing that has helped me to understand is that in 1 John 3:9 it says that we receive The Seed, capital T and capital S of Almighty God. When a man is born again it says that he cannot continue on purposely, knowingly, willfully sinning because - actually in the amplified bible it says he has received the Divine sperm of Almighty God. Wow! So if we could just look at it for a minute like when a woman get's pregnant, her husbands seed is planted in her womb and she's pregnant with his child and that child is going to have a lot of their characteristic's and may look like them and may have different mannerism's like them. But it begins as a seed and nobody knows that she's pregnant but her. And so if it's an okay way to talk about it and I think it is, when your born again, when you receive Christ as your savior you literally become preganant with everything that God is. You receive The Seed of God. I mean just that in itself ought to get you excited until Jesus comes back. You've got God in you.
Now we have all these things in us, but here is the problem, they have to be developed. So if you don't develop them for all intent and purposes even you get to the point where you're not sure you got them. Because after a while you're not seeing anything and you're not even feeling anything different. You know when a woman first get's pregnant, I mean my daughter-in-law is pregnant, my baby my youngest son, his wife is now pregnant and so my baby is having a baby. I think that's really cool. You can't look at her and see that she's pregnant and if you ask her how she feel's she like I have a little nausea but that's about it. So you know she has to believe by faith that that little seed is working in there and that fetus is developing and it won't be very long that she gives birth.
A way that God gave me to explain it is by using a camera. Let's just see, Peter I'm not going to see you for awhile, I think I'm going to take a picture of you is that okay? You're just so good looking I want to remember what you look like. There we go, I got me a picture of Peter. Now somebody could say, oh you have a picture of Peter can I see it? Well I can't show it to you. I've got it, but I can't show it to you. I've got it, but I can't show it to you UNTIL it's developed. Now I'll just throw this out for good measure, we'll talk more about this tomorrow. IT HAS TO BE DEVELOPED IN A DARK ROOM. Now a few of you got the point right away. Actually, I don't know the reference right now but there is a great scripture where Jesus says what you've LEARNED IN THE DARK, go tell in the LIGHT. And see I have a lot to say now. Boy do I have a lot to say. I can talk about any problem you've got. And probably any problem you've got, I have a book or CD series or DVD on it. It's because I've had most of those problems. But I didn't get these messages in the light, I got them in the dark. I got them in the hard times. I got them going through those things myself. Letting God deal with me, crying a swimming pool of tears and now I can share them in the LIGHT. So many people give up in the hard times. You don't want to be a person who gives up. You've got to make up your mind that you're going to make it all the way through to the end.
Now regarding our works, the things that we do. I think there is a lot of confusion about the things we do versus what is in our HEART. I want you to understand that people get impress with what we do but God is NOT the least impressed with what we do UNLESS the RIGHT HEART ATTITUDE is attached to it. And this is one of the reasons why we need to pay so much attention to our thoughts because the bible uses HEART MIND kind of interchangeably. And so if you're heart is not right, if you're mind is not right, if you're not thinking right about something, no matter what kind good work you do if you're not doing it for the right reason then you get no reward for it. There are going to be alot of disappointed people on judgement day. And then on the other hand, there's going to be alot of people in heaven that you didn't expect to be there. Because we stay busy judging what we see and of course if everybody is not doing things the way we do it then we assume they are not doing it right. And if they are not doing it according to our denominational rules, then they're not doing it right. But God SEE'S THE HEART.
There's alot of people that are gonna just do all kind's of good works and religious works and think that they are just the church's foundation. There are gonna people who go to church every single Sunday and don't make it to heaven. That should be a very sobering thought. Because Jesus didn't die just so we could have a religion. He died so we can have DEEP INTIMATE PASSIONATE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM through Christ and serve Him with our life. You shall LOVE the Lord your God with ALL of your HEART, your SOUL, your MIND and your STRENGTH. That's a little different than you shall go to church for 45 minutes on Sunday morning and have an attitude that I can't wait until this is over. Now I'm definitely not against going to church obviously we tell people to go to church all the time. I think you should be part of a good local church. But I want you to be there because you want to be there. Not because you think you're getting brownie points with God or because that's where your salvation is at. You need to go because God loves you NOT to try to get Him to love you. You need to pray because He loves you and because you know that it is a priviledge NOT out of DUTY or obligation. We do too many things for the WRONG REASON and guess what NO brownie points. They're all going to get fried in the fire. Sizzle!
