Socio-Political Vortex!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry I've been MIA. I kind of fell into a socio-political vortex. I found myself in a state of massive disbelief in response to recent events. Have you ever found yourself dumbfounded by the things that you hear? Well, that is precisely what I've been experiencing and needed to pull myself out from the vortex of nonsense that apparently has become the norm!

How do I avoid getting sucked into the abyss of sheer insanity? Well first I have to acknowledge the vortex. The moment I recognize it, I am able to step out. I remove myself from it by way of laughter. I'll watch comedy's or comedians and enjoy a laughfest! This helps me put everything back into perspective. I also recommend great music to sing to or dance to in your home. Allow yourself to become a goofball in the privacy of your home of course. Another fun way to escape is playing video games or watching your favorite cartoons. My favorite means to combat idiocy are extreme sports or outdoor activities. Nature is the great tamer and is always fun to conquer and become one with it. This helps me realize how inconsequential the issues we face are in the whole context of life itself.

Did you notice that everything I mentioned is the complete opposite from being deep and serious? There is only so much we as individuals can do in our attempt to help make this world a better place. I'm not in any way suggesting that you and I stop doing what we're doing to make a difference. I'm merely saying that we must remain balanced. This is my way of achieving and maintaining that balance ;)

The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark. ~ by Michaelangelo

Crystallize your goals. Make a plan for achieving them and set yourself a deadline. Then, with supreme confidence, determination and disregard for obstacles and other people's criticisms, carry out your plan. ~ by Paul J. Meyer
