Pediatrician Pleads Guilty To Having Sex With Male Patient Who Is 13 Years Old! This Is The Only One They Know About. There Could Be Several More!

If you were taking your child to this pediatrician, I recommend you having a heart to heart with your child. Ask them if this doctor said or did ANYTHING inappropriate to them. If any of your children experienced anything, you NEED to come forward. This doctor was already accused of molesting two boys in 1994. However, he obviously had a high profile attorney who managed to get him acquitted on all charges. My point is this doctor has a history of being a child predator! At least this time, there was a witness who was instrumental in putting this creep behind bars for five years. I believe he should get more time because he used his practice to solicit young boys. This doctor should also have his license REVOKED! Isn't the doctors Hippocratic Oath ""Above all, do no harm"?

NEW YORK (WPIX) - A pediatrician has pleaded guilty to a charge of having sex with an underage, male patient in his Upper West Side Manhattan office, PIX News has learned.

Dr. Jaime Cortes, 47, pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of sexual abuse and committing a criminal sex act in the second-degree. He admitted to committing various sex acts with the 13-year-old boy at a pediatrics clinic in Washington Heights where he practiced.

Manhattan Justice Thomas Farber said he will sentence Dr. Cortes on July 28 to five years in prison and five years of post-release supervision.

Prosecutors say Cortes began soliciting the child for sex when he was 10. They say he gave the boy cell phones and money, and sent him inappropriate text messages and explicit photographs.

An employee of Cortes' alerted police, when she witnessed the physician kiss and touch the boy's genitals at the Manhattan office, a criminal complaint states. The child's mother reportedly spoke with the same employee about her concern over her son's increased interest in Cortes. The mother grew worried when the two would spend a great amount of time together, officials said.

Cortes had previously been acquitted after being accused of molesting two boys in 1994.

The doctor graduated from Mount Sinai Medical School in 1987. His Manhattan office is located at 4260 Broadway.

Cortes also has offices in Brooklyn and Queens.
