Obvio Model 828 ~ Brazilian Electric Vehicle!!!

I discovered Obvio last year while researching environmentally friendly vehicle prototypes. This is how I was led to ZapWorld, the three wheel electric vehicle that I wrote about last month. "ZAP signed an agreement back in 2005 for the exclusive North American distribution of a new urban car from Brasil with Obvio! Automotoveiculos S.A., of Rio de Janeiro." From what I understand, ZapWorld has since rescinded the contract to market their very own 'Alias' electric vehicle model.

I personally thought this was the cutest car when I first saw it! If I were 18 to twenty-something years old I would totally buy this car. I probably would still buy this car just to be different. Now, I should mention that I am a car aficionado. I have a strong appreciation for DESIGN and style! The car also has to be functional, durable and efficient. Oh and I can't forget AFFORDABLE! Is that too much to ask?

I understand that the Indian automaker Tata has found a market for their new release they call the 'NANO'. I think it's great news that India is pursuing ingenuity. Tata is manufacturing a super compact car and somehow figured out how to minimize operating and manufacturing costs. Thereby allowing Tata to sell the 'NANO' for an unbelievable $2,500. Tata is fortunate not to have to concern themselves with the 'United Auto Workers' (UAW) to HINDER their corporate profits and growth!

If I lived in India, I would buy the 'NANO' so that I could quickly get around the city. According to Freep.com, "More than 203,000 people have bought the ultracheap Nano car in India, yielding sales of 25 billion rupees ($512.6 million), Tata Motors said Monday." The 'NANO' is a HUGE success in India! This auto manufacturer sought to make a product that consumers were hungry for and PRICED it just right.

I'm not knocking Tata's 'NANO'. But don't you think the Obvio should get more notoriety? I honestly believe the Obvio will become a BEST SELLER all over the WORLD if given a chance! The Obvio! 828 has a list price of US $14,000.
