Thank you Chrysler for being a DISGRACE to America! You have genuinely FAILED in every which way possible. Now I find out that you had your hand in PREVENTING this car from entering the United States through ZapWorld distribution!!! Were you THAT AFRAID of innovative competition! BMW has established a loyal customer base and could have easily maintained its present market share! You and BMW strategically got rid of your competitor that would have INTRODUCED new eco-friendly technology to the marketplace! You knew damn well U.S. CONSUMERS would have RUSHED to replace your crappy automobiles with an Obvio! electric vehicle.
At first I thought that Chrysler was resisting change because they kept producing crappy automobiles. But then I spoke to a friend who suggested Detroit automakers continued producing gas guzzlers because of their relationship with the OIL COMPANIES! My friend went on to say that the OIL COMPANIES should be BAILING Detroit out and NOT the U.S. Taxpayer! Detroit Automakers and the OIL COMPANIES deliberately held us back. They ROBBED US from having OPTIONS! They also kept us from saving money and enjoying a different mode of transportation.
This reminds me of the movie "Tucker: The Man and His Dream is a 1988 film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Jeff Bridges which tells the story of Preston Tucker and his attempt to produce and market the Tucker '48."
Obvio ! Automotoveiculos S.A. - Rio de Janeiro, Brasil
In September 2005, Obvio! started an important partnership with a Californian publicly traded company and distributor of advanced technology and fuel-efficient vehicles. Under the terms of the agreement, they are the exclusive distributor of Obvio !’s cars for 21 years for the USA market, with a scheduled firm order of pre-sold production of 50.000 cars in three years, in a firm-order contract of US $700 million, already registered in the Central Bank of Brasil. On December 2005, the company changed its status to an S.A. (Sociedade Anรดnima), to allow investors to take a position and the company became a joint stock company.
Brasil is the ninth largest economy in the world, one of four BRIC economies identified as a future cornerstone of the world economy, fifth largest country in the world in size, as well as population, with strong, stablizing currency. The country has a falling unemployment (9,5% down from 12,3% in 2003), with government aided infrastructure develoment. Brasil has also wealth of natural resources, uses ethanol in all cars for more than 30 years and it´s politically stable. Better than that, it´s very close of USA and english is the second language.
Obvio ! planned to release vehicles in the U.S. market in the end of =of 2008, but Obvio ! is currently facing serious trouble in its operational schedule. The production was planned originally to begin in 2008, but in view of the end of Tritec Motors operations in 2007, Obvio ! had to freeze the engineering projects, outsourced to international companies, because there are no engines available worldwide, to support Obvio!’s contractual needs.
Tritec Motors is a motor company that belonged to Chrysler/BMW joint venture. The company closed its doors in July 2007, when Chrysler LLC became its sole owner. Tritec produced in Brazil the engines for Mini Cooper BMW in its factory situated in Campo Largo, Parana state, and was one of Obvio !’s key suppliers, having participated for five years in the development of Obvio !’s cars.
This fact has generated considerable damage to Obvio !´s schedule, and was the origin of two lawsuits against Tritec that have been filed by Sรฉrgio Bermudes Lawyers Office. These lawsuits prevented the disassembling and selling of Tritec to foreign companies.
