President Obama Supporters, Be Careful What You Wish For.The Bush Administration Already Has IMMUNITY! The War Crimes Controversy Is ALL A Charade!

As I've mentioned several times before, I am NOT a republican, I am NOT white nor have I ever been a supporter of former President George W. Bush. This now has to be my mandatory disclosure before posting anything about President Obama. I would also like to mention that you do not need to have a Ph.d to know that commentators should have researched all pertinent information in order to make a SOLID credible argument.

For the past couple of weeks there have been talks on all cable news networks regarding charging the Bush administration with war crimes. In fact, ALL of President Obama's supporters have been DEMANDING it. I am sad to say that the cable news networks such as MSNBC and CNN has done you a great dis-service for BAITING you on. Now I have to wonder if all of you are a) supremely enamored with this politician that you are incredibly blind b) you are completely ill informed c) you are just plain stupid? I say ALL OF THE ABOVE!

Allow me to enlightened you a bit. Have you forgotten that President Obama has a war that he now proudly calls his own? President Obama has ordered our troops to remain in Iraq and continue the war until 2012 that former President Bush began. President Obama has cranked up efforts in Afghanistan and ordered ADDITIONAL troops to be sent there. If President Obama follows through with his promise to his supporters, and charges former President Bush with war crimes, then wouldn't that be like shooting himself in the foot? Think about it. President Obama is NOW in the exact same HOT SEAT former President Bush was in. President Obama already within a month has INNOCENT blood on his hands in Afghanistan after ordering several drone air strikes. Now as for Guantanamo Bay which has been the main focus of discussion, please absorb the following information:

The H.R. 6166 bill is titled The Military Commissions Act of 2006. This bill has a provision that gives IMMUNITY to President Bush, all the members of his administration and military members of ANY possible crimes connected with the torture and mistreatment of detainees dated all the way BACK to September 11, 2001. This bill NOW PROTECTS the Obama administration in the SAME WAY it protected the former Bush administration. Do you honestly believe that President Obama didn't already know about this law passed when he was a U.S. Senator??? The TRUTH is he knew about it and blatantly LIED to you in order to get your vote. You may be interested to know that 34 House Democrats VOTED FOR IT and 7 House Republicans voted against it. Please click HERE to see who voted for this bill yourself.

First, the MCA changed the definition of war crimes for which US government defendants can be prosecuted. Under the War Crimes Act of 1996, any violation of Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions was considered a war crime and could be criminally prosecuted. Section 6 of the Military Commissions Act amended the War Crimes Act so that only actions specifically defined as "grave breaches" of Common Article 3 could be the basis for a prosecution, and it made that definition retroactive to November 26, 1997. The specific actions defined in section 6 of the Military Commissions Act include torture, cruel or inhumane treatment, murder, mutilation or maiming, intentionally causing serious bodily harm, rape, sexual assault or abuse, and the taking of hostages. According to Mariner of Human Rights Watch, the effect is "that perpetrators of several categories of what were war crimes at the time they were committed, can no longer be punished under U.S. law." The Center for Constitutional Rights adds:

The MCA’s restricted definitions arguably would exempt certain U.S. officials who have implemented or had command responsibility for coercive interrogation techniques from war crimes prosecutions.

This amendment is designed to protect U.S. government perpetrators of abuses during the "war on terror" from prosecution.

Also for your information, Rep. Ron Paul [R-TX] sponsored and introduced bill H.R. 3835 on October 15, 2007 titled, "American Freedom Agenda Act of 2007". To restore the Constitution's checks and balances and protections against government abuses as envisioned by the Founding Fathers. This bill was STOPPED in its tracks on November 02, 2007. The co-sponsors were Rep. Dennis Kucinich [D-OH] and Rep. Peter Welch [D-VT].

If the Democractic Congress gave a damn as they are portraying to you, then why don't they SIMPLY REVIVE this bill??? I mean they can't use the excuse anymore that former President Bush wouldn't let them. They NOW have a democratic President. The JIG is up Nancy Pelosi, you evil wicked woman. Your KARMA will be severe! I can't believe I actually admired you before. The following is taken from OpenCongress.

H.R. 3835 REPEALS the Military Commissions Act of 2006. Authorizes the President to establish military commissions for the trial of war crimes only in places of active hostilities against the United States where an immediate trial is necessary to preserve fresh evidence or to prevent local anarchy. Prohibits the President from detaining any individual indefinitely as an unlawful enemy combatant absent proof by substantial evidence that the individual has directly engaged in active hostilities against the United States.

Prohibits the detention of any U.S. citizen as an unlawful enemy combatant. Entitles any individual detained as an enemy combatant by the United States to petition for a writ of habeas corpus. Prohibits any civilian or military tribunal of the United States from admitting as evidence statements extracted from the defendant by torture or coercion. Prohibits any federal agency from gathering foreign intelligence in contravention of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Subordinates the President's constitutional power to gather foreign intelligence to such prohibition. Gives the House of Representatives and Senate standing to file a declatory judgment action in an appropriate federal district court to challenge the constitutionality of a presidential signing statement that declares the president's intent to disregard provisions of a bill he has signed into law because he believes they are unconstitutional. Prohibits any U.S. officer or agent from kidnapping, imprisoning, or torturing any person abroad based soley on the president's belief that the subject of the action is a criminal or enemy combatant.

Allows kidnapping if undertaken with the intent of bringing the kidnapped person for prosecution or interrogation to gather intelligence before a tribunal that meets international standards of fairness and due process. Provides that nothing in the Espionage Act of 1917 shall prohibit a journalist from publishing information received from the executive branch or Congress unless the publication would cause direct, immediate, and irreparable harm to U.S. national security. Prohibits the use of secret evidence by the President or any other member of the executive branch to designate an individual or organization with a U.S. presence as a foreign terrorist or foreign terrorist organization for purposes of the criminal law or civil sanctions.
