Oh man, I totally love this song! This is another song by Christopher Cross. He had many super hits back in the early 80s for those of you who are not familiar. I remember being so excited when I was given his green album with the pink flamingo on it for my 9th birthday. Oh and I was also given the Brothers Johnson album as a gift that birthday. Yes, I grew up listening to diverse styles of music! By no means was I raised in a sheltered and limited environment. I thank God for that. Today, I have a fine appreciation for music in general. I guess I'm feeling kind of nostalgic for some good 'ole classic original music. Enjoy!
Ride Like the Wind ~ Christopher Cross
It is the night. My body's weak.
I'm on the run. No time to sleep.
I've got to ride.
Ride like the wind to be FREE again.
And I've got such a long way to go.
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride like the wind.
I was born the son of a lawless man.
ALWAYS spoke my mind with a gun in my hand.
LIVED nine lives
gunned down ten.
Gonna ride like the wind.
And I've got such a long way to go.
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride like the wind.
Ride like the wind.
Ride like the wind.
ACCUSED and TRIED and TOLD to HANG
I was NO WHERE in sight
when the church bells rang.
NEVER was the kind to do as I was told.
Gonna ride like the wind before I get old.
It is the night. My body's weak.
I'm on the run. No time to sleep.
I've got to ride.
Ride like the wind to be FREE again.
And I've got such a long way to go.
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride like the wind.
Ride like the wind.
And I've got such a long way to go.
To make it to the border of Mexico.
So I'll ride like the wind.
Gonna run like the wind.
