My gosh! I have received more anonymous hateful comments than ever before in such a short amount of time. I really touched a sensitive point. I do not bother posting them because there is no reason to expose my readers to vulgar language and verbal assaults because they're pointless. If anybody has formed a thick skin, it is moi, Wall Street is my alma mater.
Look, for all intents and purposes, I have absolutely no desire to witness a bloodbath on Wall Street or a collapse of the financial industry. By no means am I happy this is happening now. As a matter of fact, I worked on Wall Street for over a decade. I was a trader (Stockbroker) for the large investment firms that now find themselves in trouble. I couldn't wait to turn 18 years old to start working for a Wall Street firm. I got hired immediately upon my first application, then worked my way up. 'If you can believe it, you can achieve it." Looking back, I am grateful to God for blessing me with the best mentors/role models. I still remain a Capitalist with a heart.
What I want to see happen is integrity restored to the markets and accountablity. The only way this can happen is for the TRUTH to be revealed. The TOXIC firms are infecting the markets with their diseased investments. The CORRUPT politicians are now also being revealed. The stock market survived the last Great Depression and will make it though this one. Many banks, credit unions and investment firms still remain in operation. The strong firms will buy up the bankrupt firms. We will get through the coming dark period. It's our government and the fed who have their priorities all wrong. What's left is for the American public to start to DEMAND justice! This is what will cause the light to shine through.
No good can come from the bail outs our government has been undertaking. Our government is continuing to enable the very people who got us all in this mess to begin with. What's to stop them from asking for more handouts? Nothing. It's like a child that wrecks havoc and the parents take no disciplinary action. Who is in control here?
What concerns me the most right now is that our government and media keep parroting the same answer to the crisis: "We must restore credit back to the markets". Credit dried up over a year ago. So what the heck are they talking about? Oh that's right, that's what they want you to believe.
Let's take this one step further. The American people, the 'common citizens' are the backbone of this nation. We the people make up the MAJORITY. What good is restoring 'credit' back to the markets, so we can take out 'student loans, auto loans, mortgages, and small business loans' if the 'common citizen' is unemployed and homeless. Who are they kidding here? What makes them think for one minute that the 'common citizen' is going to be able to afford to buy a car or a house within a year when they are losing these two things exponentially? Did 'they' forget who the real consumers are of goods and services en masse? The next shoes to drop are credit card defaults and student loan defaults. Not to mention, everybody's credit scores going in the tank. So how do they expect people to quality for these new credit offers?
If the body collapses, so does the head. Think about this analogy for a moment... we are all the worker bees in this economic landscape. Take the honey bees for example. The bee-hive can only be maintained by the participation of the whole community of bees. Every bee in the colony is important. Every bee in the colony makes up the whole and has their place in the survival of the entire colony.
I have taken the following excerpt from a book titled, 'The Continuum Encyclopedia of Animal Symbolism in Art", authors Hope B. Werness and Joanne H. Benedict. Beehives symbolize the collective 'family' of bees, and stand generally for maternal reassurance and protection. The hum of the busy hive conveys diligent, energetic, and cooperative work.
