Hi Princess,
I arrived home last night after the long journey back from Russia. So we passed the medical exams in Moscow on the 23rd, then flew to Kaliningrad the next day.
Our court date was the 28th, and after both of us were grilled by the judge and prosecutor, the court gave us the o.k. to adopt. Finally, after more than four years! We can't believe that it is finally (almost) over.
Yev is still in Russia, as there is a 10-day waiting period after court. After that is over, there is another week or so of processing documents before she can bring Nadia home.
So I will meet them at the airport here on the 19th.
This brutal process has left us drained financially, emotionally, and spiritually. We both wonder why this had to be so difficult.
And it still isn't really completely over until all the paperwork is completed and they are in the air, with Russia behind them. Until then I will still be sitting on pins and needles.
You know, this uncertainty has been hanging over our heads for so, so long. I wish that we'd had more faith that all would be well in the end, but so many things have gone wrong during these past four years that we just almost completely lost faith & hope.

But you did have enough faith Mammoth. That is precisely what helped you get 'through' the past 4 years.
You and Yev may not have conceived this child in the natural way. Nevertheless, both of you have carried this child in your womb for 4 years. You are now going through the final stage... the birthing process. Yes, this final stage is the most painful. But both of you need to keep pushing and breathing and the child will soon be released into your world.
Mammoth, this cild represents God. Whether you know it or not, you are honoring Him by taking this child into your family and home and loving her like you would have a child with your very own DNA.
God is blessing you beyond your wildest imagination. God will give you with back double what you feel you have lost. Be of good cheer and know that this process is already over. It's already done.
Thank God everyday for carrying you two this far and helping you not to give up. Thank God for blessing you and Yev with little Nadia. Thank God for blessing you and Yev with a beautiful home, a beautiful child and a beautiful family. What more can you ask for?
