"Denial is the most predictable of Human responses."
Its Human nature to take the things WE have been blessed with for granted. Each Human Being learns to value and appreciate what they have/had only when they are about to lose it or have already lost it.
Not until people are gasping for breath will they appreciate the air they breathe. Not until pure water becomes almost non-existent will people appreciate the water they have to drink. Not until people have killed off and destroyed most of the animals and plants on this planet will they value the food they have to eat. Not until people are almost on the brink of losing all of their material possessions or daily comforts will they have compassion for those less fortunate.
Do I need to go further to make my point about the selfishness that exists today around the World? What will it take for YOU to wake up and make a difference? There is only ONE human race and ONE planet!
"Only after the last tree has been cut down. Only after the last river has been poisoned. Only after the last fish has been caught. Only then you will find that money cannot be eaten."~ Cree Indian Proverb
From A Distance by Bette Midler
- From a distance the World looks blue and green,
- and the snow-capped mountains white.
- From a distance the ocean meets the stream, and the eagle takes to flight.
- From a distance, there is harmony, and it echoes through the land.
- It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace,
- it's the voice of every man.
- From a distance we all have enough, and no one is in need.
- And there are no guns, no bombs, and no disease,
- no hungry mouths to feed.
- From a distance we are instruments marching in a common band.
- Playing songs of hope, playing songs of peace.
- They're the songs of every man.
- God is watching us. God is watching us.
- God is watching us from a distance.
- From a distance you look like my friend, even though we are at war.
- From a distance I just cannot comprehend what all this fighting is for.
- From a distance there is harmony, and it echoes through the land.
- And it's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves,
- it's the heart of every man.
- It's the hope of hopes, it's the love of loves.
- This is the SONG of every man.
- And God is watching us, God is watching us,
- God is watching us from a distance.
- Oh, God is watching us, God is watching.
- God is watching us from a distance.
