The spirit never dies!
Last night around 3am while I was sitting in silence meditating, wildfire was whispered in my spirit. So I went online and typed in wildfire and I was led to this very deep, symbolic song. The lyrics, music, and video montage totally resonated with my spirit, so much so that I have to share this beautiful song, message, feeling with you...♥
"Where love reigns the impossible may be obtained."
From the Disney movie, Song of the South. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah is without a doubt the most well-known song of the movie. It won an Academy Award for best motion picture song.
John now takes us to Jesus' shocking, clear claim made on the last and greatest day of the Feast (v. 37). On each day of the feast there was a procession of priests to the pool of Siloam to draw water (m. Sukka 4:9). The priests returned to the temple, where the water was taken in procession once around the altar with the choir chanting Psalms 113-118, and then the water was poured out as a libation at the morning sacrifice. All-night revelry lead up to this morning libation. This was a time of joy so great that it was said, "He that never has seen the joy of the Beth he-She'ubah [water-drawing] has never in his life seen joy" (m. Sukka 5:1; cf. Deut 16:14-15; Jubilees 16:20, 25). This joy was associated with Isaiah 12:3, "With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation." On the seventh day of the festival the priests processed around the altar with the water not once but seven times (Bloch 1980:200; cf. Beasley-Murray 1987:113 for a more detailed description).
At this high point of the festival Jesus dramatically cries out loudly (krazo, as in v. 28), If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink (v. 37). If he spoke this invitation during the revelry, he would have to shout just to be heard. But we have also an allusion to the image of Wisdom, calling out, inviting all mankind to come and drink (cf. Prov 8--9; Sirach 24:19). What Jesus offers is the fulfillment of the very things they were celebrating. Here is grace upon grace (Jn 1:16). Here the Son is repeating the offer of the Father, "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters" (Is 55:1). Indeed, he is fulfilling the role of God, who "will guide them and lead them beside springs of water" (Is 49:10). His offer shows he is far more than just a prophet or an agent; here we have God himself offering us life.
In Jewish writings water is a very rich symbol (cf. Goppelt 1972:318-22). God himself can be called "the spring of living water" (Jer 2:13; 17:13). Other texts that use water imagery speak of Wisdom (Baruch 3:12; Sirach 15:3; 24:21, 25-27, 30-31), the law (Sifre on Deuteronomy 48) and, as here in John 7:39, the Holy Spirit (Genesis Rabbah 70:8; Targum of Isaiah 44:3). Jesus, in offering the Spirit (v. 39), is claiming to be able to satisfy people's thirst for God. The cries of the psalmists are answered. David prayed, "O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water" (Ps 63:1). The sons of Korah sang, "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?" (Ps 42:1-2). Both of these psalms go on to speak of meeting God in the temple: David has seen God in the sanctuary (Ps 63:2), and the sons of Korah speak of "leading the procession to the house of God, with shouts of joy and thanksgiving among the festive throng" (Ps 42:4). When Jesus cries out at the end of the Feast of Tabernacles on this particular day, the worshipers meet God in his sanctuary--in the person of his Son. The longing for God is met with God's invitation to come and be satisfied. In Jesus, God's own desire for man is expressed and the desire of man for God is met. All that the temple represented is now found in Jesus.
This invitation to come and drink is the climax of a series of references to water in this Gospel: the water turned to wine (chap. 2), the water of the new birth (chap. 3), the living water (chap. 4), the cleansing water of Bethesda (chap. 5) and the calming of the waters (chap. 6). All of these have revealed Jesus as the agent of God who brings God's gracious offer of life.
In offering them the Spirit he is claiming that the age to come has already arrived. Just as water flowed out from the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:10-14), so a river flows from the eschatological temple (Ezek 47). Ezekiel's vision has begun to be fulfilled in Jesus' offer in the temple, and it will come to completion in heaven in "the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb" (Rev 22:1). That heavenly water of life is already available through Jesus. His invitation at the Feast of Tabernacles is repeated in the invitation at the end of the book of Revelation: "Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life" (Rev 22:17).
John 4:29 Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?
The word 'come' in the above invitation is the same word used by the Spirit and the bride to invite others to take the free gift of the water of life (Revelation 22:17). This makes me think that the above verses in John 4 paints a picture of a type of bride of Christ. Again this bride seems to be found going to draw water from the well. The Messiah or Bridegroom is also at the well and it seems to be here at the well where they recognize each other. John 4:23 also reveals another quality of the Bride - she will worship in spirit and truth.
Wow! This again points back to images from a previous article 'Sing to the Well'. This article also reveals more qualities of the bride having to do with striking the Rock with a rod; these are collected below.

The bride is a rock garden locked up, a fountain sealed. A secret place hidden and protected belonging to God thru Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The bride is a spring of living waters welling up to eternal life. A beautiful place of communion and fellowship with the Lord is found at this well of living water. The bride and Bridegroom recognize each other here. Worship in spirit and truth occurs here. Water is drawn here by the Spirit and the Bride and offered to the thirsty. The Spirit and the Bride say "Come!”

She says we are going to target the bulls eye. And for some of us after praying this you might have terrible dreams, or it might look like nothing is happening, or it just got worse. Don't be deceived. God is at work and as you pray have that expectation that the words that you declare that Father God can hear you and that they are being enforced and that the prayer is sealed in the name of Jesus.

Prayers against witchcraft, divination, sorcery and organized wickedness. If you are from Africa, you are probably more familiar with these as they are quiet common in that part of the world. But it is done everywhere - sadly most people are either ignorant of this or think there is no harm in it. But witchcraft, magic, sorcery, divination, and all similar works are works of darkness and are the enemies of God.
Remember we do not pray against the people, we pray against the powers of darkness. Know your target and generate much power to conquer!

PRAYERS AGAINST EVIL CAULDRONS
I rebuke and destroy every wicked cauldron in the name of Jesus (Ezekiel 11:11–12).
I rebuke and destroy every seething pot or cauldron stirred up by the enemy against my life, my city, or my nation in the name of Jesus (Job 41:20).
Let every wicked cauldron in my city be broken in the name of Jesus.
I break every witchcraft cauldron stirred up by witches and warlocks in the name of Jesus.
Lord, visit every witch and warlock in my region, and convict them. Let them repent, turn to You, and be saved.

Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we bind and break all witchcraft, curses, spells, and powers - and through the Blood of the Lamb - destroy the works of every witch, warlock, wizard, sorcerer and all other powers of darkness.
Through the Blood of Jesus Christ we break all their powers - including the influences of witchcraft, evil powers, spells, hexes, vexes, voodoo, hoodoo, roots, potions or any such things - off every person under the sound my voice.
For them also we invoke Psalm 80:18, "so we will not go back from thee: quicken us and we will call upon thy name"
Through the Blood of Jesus Christ we also bind up and destroy all their spirit-guides, helps, and shields of these workers of evil, and leave them without any strength - stripped of their evil power and influence.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and by the Blood of the Lamb, we now seal up their powers within themselves, so that they cannot use them on anyone, and that their works might be destroyed, in the hope that their souls might be saved for the glory of God. AMEN.

saiah 59: 19 says, “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Many people do not understand this Scripture because they do not read it correctly. It is the Spirit of the Lord that shall rise like a flood, not the enemy. People usually say, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” But the original version says, “When the enemy shall come in, like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall raise up a standard against him.” That is our working verse in this message.
WHY DOES A PERSON COME UNDER ATTACK?
A person comes under attack because the enemy wants to conquer him.
A person comes under attack because the enemy wants to suppress him.
A person comes under attack because the enemy wants to contend with his destiny.
A person comes under attack because his existence is threatening the existence of another person.
A person comes under attack because his destiny is an eagle destiny.
A person comes under attack because he is trying to escape from the hands of a slave master.
A person comes under attack because somewhere somehow some persons, powers or personalities do not want to see him around.
WHEN YOU ARE UNDER ATTACK WHAT DO YOU DO?
1. Do not panic: Be calm. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Do not panic, rather praise the Lord. Panic will always lead to trouble. There is this testimony of a woman who did not know that the man next door was a satanic agent. Her child was convulsing and she was praying for the child. She did not know that the man had a nail in the wall and anytime he banged the nail the convulsion would start but as she prayed, the nail would come out of the wall. Whenever the nail came down, the boy would recover. The man would take the nail again and bang it in the wall and the convulsion would start. This went on for five hours. When the herbalist saw that the nail kept coming out, he took a bottle of concoction and knocked at the door of the woman, saying, “Madam, any problem?” The woman answered, “No problem.” The man said, “But something is happening here.” He gave her a container and said, “Give the child this medicine to drink.” She rejected it. If she had accepted it the child would have been well but another problem would have been planted in him. So, when there is an attack put your ear in the neutral position and listen carefully to the inner voice of the Holy Spirit.
2. Analyse it by the wisdom of God: Ecclesiastes 7:14 says, “In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider." We should know that any working system would occasionally develop crises. So, sit down to analyse it and see what you have learnt from what has happened.
3. Seek for godly counsel: Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” So, ignorance is destructive. Don’t neglect knowledge. Somebody somewhere will know something that would help you to survive. Try and reach out for people with such information.
4. As a child of God, expect the power of God to move: It is easy to sit down and believe that all hope is lost. But, as a child of God, if you read your Bible well, you will find that anytime the devil was preparing his soup, it was usually scary but by the time the God who delivered Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego arose, He would just take the enemy’s pot of soup and smashed it to the ground. Expect the power of God to move. Adversity is the enemy’s reaction to your progress. It is the enemy’s attempt to steal your approaching blessing.
5. Fight back: James 4:7, a very popular verse says: “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” When you say resist, a lot of things are involved. To resist means to fight. Somebody cannot just stroll into your sitting room and carry your T.V. set, video machine and all you have in the room and walk out. You have to resist him. To stop him might require that you fight. The Bible says, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” This means that if the devil is not fleeing from you, you should check whether you are really resisting him. What some of us call resistance is to stand up and start praying when you have a bad dream. No. You should pray before the bad dreams come. Satan loves very fearful people but real fighters intimidate him.
6. Use your spiritual weapons: 2 Corinthians 10:4 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” The weapons of our warfare are: The word of God, the fire of God, the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, praises, testimonies, prayers, etc. Learn how to use them.
7. Soak yourself in the Scriptures: When some people have one or two problems, they stop reading their Bibles. Some people would say to them, “Since you have been reading it what have you got out of it? Don’t waste you time.” Psalm 119:92 says, “Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.” Your mind is like a garden, it would grow any seed you plant there, good or bad. Plant words spoken by God in your heart, then you have sown energy, life and hope in your spirit. Be a Scripture addict.
8. Remember that seasons change: Psalm 30:5 says, “For his anger endureth but a moment, in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Know that as a child of God the attack will not last forever. People change, so also circumstances. Therefore, expect God to change things on your behalf.
9. Be spiritually tough: Life is a battle and the violent takes it by force. God is in control and is bigger than whoever you are dealing with. He is stronger than any enemy you are fighting with. Hebrew 13:5-6 says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have; for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”
10. Guard your mind with all diligence: You will never be defeated as long as you are victorious in your mind. But if you are defeated in the battle of the mind, you will lose all the battles everywhere. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Everybody ought to memorize this scripture. The only people God would keep in perfect peace are those whose minds are stayed on Him.
11. Never give up: 2 Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” He did not give up. Luke 9:62 also says, “And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” So, your perseverance destabilises the enemy. Therefore, other people stone of adversity will just be your stone of promotion. If the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and Paul is your God, you will certainly overcome.
12. Pray to locate and fire your arrow at the unprotected forehead of your enemies: No matter how strong your enemy is, he must have some weak points. You pray to locate those points and then fire at them.
I counsel you to read through this message again. Then tell the Lord to forgive you for the various ways you have failed when you were under attack. When you are supposed to be the David to kill the Goliath, the Goliath was boasting all over the place because your strategy was wrong. Talk to God to forgive you. I want you to pray with the spirit that believes that your God is a God that knows no impossibilities.
There is no situation that is beyond His power, no matter how strong it may be. The battle is not greater than the One described as the Almighty. The battle is not higher than Him who is the highest. The following prayer points are powerful and effective. Pray them aggressively.
PRAYER POINTS
1. Every arrow fired into my destiny this year, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every power that stole my destiny when I was a baby, return it by fire, in the name of Jesus.
3. I possess all my blessings for this week, in the name of Jesus.
4. Every wall of Jericho standing against my progress, fall, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every hidden authority and stubborn pursuer that is following me, I command you to die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every garment of wickedness and shame, be roasted, in the name of Jesus.
7. The glory of the protection of the Almighty shall be upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
1 Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea; 2 hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught 3 because of what my enemy is saying, because of the threats of the wicked; for they bring down suffering on me and assail me in their anger.
4 My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me. 5 Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.
6 I said, “Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. 7 I would flee far away and stay in the desert; 8 I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.”
9 Lord, confuse the wicked, confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city. 10 Day and night they prowl about on its walls; malice and abuse are within it. 11 Destructive forces are at work in the city; threats and lies never leave its streets.
12 If an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. 13 But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, 14 with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.
15 Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the realm of the dead, for evil finds lodging among them. 16 As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. 17 Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. 18 He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.
19 God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change— he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God.
20 My companion attacks his friends; he violates his covenant. 21 His talk is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; his words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords.
22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. 23 But you, God, will bring down the wicked into the pit of decay; the bloodthirsty and deceitful will not live out half their days. But as for me, I trust in you.
When life throws that curve ball and you have the wind knocked out of you, what do you do? Where do you turn?
When we were kids we used to put a small hole in each end of an egg and then blow the contents out. The egg looked like any other in the bowl, but it was hollow. When pressure was applied to it, it broke easily into shattered pieces. I often think of that egg as I field life’s curve balls and as I watch others do the same. A hollowness in our souls will leave us feeling shattered from the pressures of life.
When a relationship becomes strained, when illness robs your days, when your stomach churns with the stress of unpaid bills, when the unexpected happens, do you crumble like a hollow eggshell or do you know where to find strength for your inner soul?
God’s Word, the Bible, has principles for living. Principles written for us by the very God that created us and understands the hollowness that can creep unbidden into our souls. This is not merely positive thinking or visualization, this is help from the God of the universe, the same God that sent His son Jesus to be the source of everything we need to face the curve balls of life.
Listen to the promise for you that comes straight from the heart of Father God:
“May the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace
as you trust in him
so that you may overflow with hope
by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13
Did you hear it? Joy, peace and hope offered to you by the God of hope!! This is not just a promise to “get by” or to be a “survivor” – it’s a promise of overflowing with hope – of being filled with joy and peace!!
Sounds a bit like fluff doesn’t it! Is it really possible to be pulled from the pit of despair and overflow with hope? Yes but it’s supernatural, it’s God’s part, He does it when we do our part.
And what is our part? It’s that little phrase sandwiched in – between the promise of being filled with joy and peace and the promise of overflowing with hope – our part is an individual thing – “as you trust in Him”.
But how? How does one trust? In the storms of life I find people desperately wanting to trust this God that offers hope, but simply not knowing how to when the waves are coming fast and threatening to pull them under.
God even gives us the formula in His Word. Listen to it – it comes from the book in the Bible named “Lamentations”:
“Because of the Lord’s great love
we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
Great is His faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3: 22 & 23
When trouble strikes and our hearts grow faint we so often forget the great love our Father in Heaven has for us and we begin to doubt the goodness of God toward us. When that happens we begin to be consumed by our stress and our fears and begin to blame God. When we follow God’s formula and recall His great love for us, reminding ourselves daily of His compassion toward us, our hearts gain strength.
God knows the daily need we have to remember His kindness toward us in the middle of our unkind circumstances, so He calls us to focus on it every morning. His compassions that never fail us are His resources to carry us through our day and all the hard points in our present storm. Has hope, peace and strength vanished in the wind of your storm? His peace, His strength, His wisdom, His understanding, His hope will become yours as you ask Him for it – supernaturally His source of whatever you need today will become yours.
As you lean into His great love for you today, and lean on His resources you will not be consumed, you will not be crushed like the hollow eggshell. You will find Him faithful step by step by step – that’s trusting.
Never doubt the love and the goodness of God to you. He doesn’t promise a storm free life but He does promise to be the anchor in the storm so that you will not be overcome!
Trust Him daily. Trust Him hourly and learn to trust Him moment by moment. His resources will not only get you through but you will truly grow to experience Him as the source of hope overflowing “by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
I'm going through a lot right now. There have been moments where I was at my wits' end after being battered by one problem after another, physically, emotionally, psychologically, financially and spiritually. Well, I woke up this morning to a soft whisper in my spirit that said, "everything is going to be okay." This reassurance from the Holy Spirit brought tears to my eyes. I felt like a five year old child receiving a tight hug and a kiss on my forehead from Father God, making me feel safe and secure.
So, I searched for a message for me to read and to also share with you. I hope this beautiful message helps to encourage you as it has me.
I told myself last night with conviction, I know I am not my problems. This is not how my story is going to end. ♥
I know you’re hurting. I know you’re struggling with something, some sort of problem, something that doesn’t look like it’s going to ever work out. You keep wondering when it’s going to end, and if it’s going to take you down once and for all. Well, I have good news.
Everything’s gonna be alright.
How can I say that? Well, for one thing, I know that God’s behind it all. There isn’t a place in the universe where we can go where God isn’t. Even in the midst of a bad situation, God is there. The question is never whether God is there; it’s whether we’re looking for him, and if we are, whether we’re humble enough to hear what he’s saying.
Now, in this situation you’re in, you have control over exactly one thing. Fortunately, it’s the only thing you need to control: Your own thoughts. YOU control how you see this situation. Since actions are the fruits of your thoughts, your actions will flow naturally out of what you choose to think about your situation. YOU will be the one who decides how you meet this situation. And if you can apply the principles of love, kindness and forgiveness that Jesus taught, you will find a strength that you didn’t even know was there.
So here’s an idea: Choose to look your situation dead in the eye and say this: EVERYTHING’S GONNA BE ALRIGHT. After all, you know what’s really at work here. Things are very seldom what they seem. I’m asking you to look this situation dead in the eye (and yourself, if you have to) and say, “I know what it looks like. But God has something else going on here!” I want you speak to your situation with conviction and the power vested in you when God created you as the holy, divine and powerful image of Himself that you are.
Here’s what’s going to happen: Right now, you think your problems are bigger than you are. And, as long as you believe that, you’re right. But remember, as it says in “A Message From God,” you belong to something much bigger than yourself. By connecting with the infinite power that IS God, you will begin realize that in Christ, you are bigger than your problems. Or, as Jesus so profoundly said, “Greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world.”
As you embrace this, you will become a vessel of healing and inspiration for those around you. This is nothing short of the work of God through you. YOU will be the one telling people that everything’s going to be alright — and what’s more, you won’t just be saying it, you’ll be living it!
Remember this: one way to reinforce your own belief that everything will be alright is to show someone else the same. If you can provide an encouraging word; if you can help someone in need on the side of a road, or cook a meal for a friend who’s down on his luck . . . if you can do all of these things with a spirit of LOVE and KNOWING that no matter what it looks like, God is in the midst of the situation. . . . well, it’s the work of God, my friend.
Something came over me this morning to pound this keyboard and send this message. I know it’s going to reach someone where they are, at the right time with the right thoughts.
