Humza Yousaf described himself as “the luckiest man in the world” when he was elected as the 14th leader of the SNP and, in consequence, the sixth First Minister of Scotland.

Less than 400 days later, Mr Yousaf has accepted the brutal truth: that he inherited a crown too heavy for his head, and one irreversibly tainted by the legacy of what went before.

Where his predecessors Nicola Sturgeon and Alex Salmond will be remembered long after their lifetimes, for good or ill, Mr Yousaf, like his Westminster equivalent Liz Truss, is destined to become nothing more than a trivia question.

Only the very strongest of leaders could have overcome the twin horrors of Ms Sturgeon’s toxic deal with the Greens and the police investigation into the SNP’s finances, and Mr Yousaf was never that.

Having talked up his plans to reform the Scottish NHS, ease the cost of living crisis and improve rural housing when he was elected, Mr Yousaf will instead be remembered, briefly, as the man who turned the Orwellian nightmare of thoughtcrimes to reality through his Hate Crime and Public Order Act.

By empowering trans ideologists to report anyone who disagreed with them to the police – with a promise that every complaint would be investigated – Mr Yousaf ensured his complete alienation from voters who wanted their police to solve burglaries and their politicians to focus on Scotland’s appalling record on health, education and drug addiction.

In truth, the public never wanted Mr Yousaf as First Minister: opinion polls before his election consistently showed that Kate Forbes, his socially conservative rival for the leadership, was far more popular with both SNP supporters and voters as a whole.

But he won the backing of SNP members by portraying himself as the Sturgeon continuity candidate, unaware that her legacy was about to turn to ashes thanks to the criminal investigation into SNP finances, which so memorably included questions about a motorhome, and which continue to this day.

What he did know, though, was that Ms Sturgeon’s confidence and supply deal with the Green Party, cooked up after she fell one seat short of a working majority, was storing up trouble for the future.

Some of his own MSPs warned him that the Greens were “extremists” whose policies on net zero and trans rights would spell ruin for the SNP, and that he should terminate the deal and govern as a minority leader.

Stephen Flynn, the SNP’s Westminster leader, appeared to be speaking for a different party when he opposed Labour’s windfall tax on oil and gas at the same time as Mr Yousaf was committed to the Greens’ target of a 75 per cent reduction in carbon emissions by 2030 compared with 1990. The pragmatic Mr Flynn was sending a clear message to Mr Yousaf that the ideology of net zero would cost the SNP support in constituencies reliant on petrochemical jobs, and that the deal with the Greens had outlived its usefulness.

Yousaf accused of blowing in the wind

Instead, in one of the greatest miscalculations in recent political history, Mr Yousaf lashed himself to the Greens like a helmsman in a storm, saying the deal was “worth its weight in gold”.

Nor did he try to distance himself from the Sturgeon agenda, despite advice to the contrary, which his critics interpreted as evidence that he had no agenda of his own.

He was accused of blowing with the wind by using the language of the Left while introducing Right-wing policies like a freeze on council tax, and with Scottish independence becoming more and more of a side issue in Holyrood, Mr Yousaf’s detractors questioned what the point of him was.

Having been saved from himself by Westminster when the UK Government blocked his plans to introduce self-identification for people wanting to change sex, Mr Yousaf could not be stopped from bringing in the hate crime law he had championed as justice minister, which tied up police resources investigating whether JK Rowling was a criminal and whether or not to record non-crime hate incidents when anyone opined that men could not be women.

Mr Yousaf can at least console himself with the fact that he is not the shortest-serving First Minister in the 25-year history of the job: that honour goes to Henry McLeish, the Labour MSP who managed just one year and 12 days from 2000-2001 after taking over from Donald Dewar, who died in office in 2000.

Mr McLeish resigned after it emerged he had sub-let part of his tax-subsidised office without declaring it, and has largely been forgotten. It is a fate that Mr Yousaf must now realise awaits him too.

MEXICO: Serial Killer In Mexico City Kept Bones of 6 Women in His Room. Authorities Found Blood, A Saw, Cell Phones And ID Cards Of Missing Women. Suspect Arrested After Raping/Murdering A 17yo.

These are the only 2 videos I could find about this news. I even looked in the Spanish news section. I tried different search words but came up with nothing. This is how countries and cities conceal their crime data. They can lie and say, "We're the safest country in the world or this region." You do a search and find no bad news in that country or city and then believe them. Censorship hurts society and helps those corrupt people and countries the information would otherwise expose them. Mexico City police is investigating a murder suspect as a possible serial killer after bones, a saw, blood and the ID cards of missing women were found at rooms he rented.

Mexico City prosecutors did not identify the suspect by name, but said that he was being held over for trial on charges of murder and attempted murder of two women.

Those charges stemmed from a brazen attack on April 16 in which the suspect apparently sexually abused and strangled a 17-year-old woman.

Because the suspect lived near the scene of the crime, he was quickly identified and caught.

In keeping with Mexican law, police identified him only by his first name, Miguel.

A man is being investigated as a suspected serial killer after bones, blood, a saw, cell phones and the ID cards of missing women were found in rooms he previously rented, prosecutors claim.

On April 19, Mexico City police said the suspect, who has only been identified as Miguel, was being held over for trial on charges of murder and attempted murder of two women, ABC News, the Washington Post and NBC 5 Dallas Fort-Worth reported.

Per ABC News, head prosecutor Ulises Lara claimed that the remains of six women were found in the murder suspect’s rented room. Other “biological material” was also found in the rooms, according to the outlet.

Per NBC 5 Dallas Fort-Worth, local media reported that the remains that were found were skulls.

The suspect was caught when he allegedly broke into a neighbor's apartment on April 16 and sexually abused and strangled her 17-year-old daughter, according to the Washington Post.

The outlet reported that the teenager’s mother then returned to the apartment and saw him leaving, at which point he allegedly slashed her in the neck and fled, according to authorities. The mother survived but her daughter did not.

The charges the suspect is facing are both related to the most recent victims.

Lara alleged the evidence found in an apartment that was searched following the incident “clearly indicate we are looking at a possible serial killer of women.” Notebooks were also found that “may well be narrations of the acts that Miguel carried out against his victims,” Lara claimed, per the Washington Post.

The prosecutor added that five of the IDs that were found belonged to women who have been located alive, but they didn’t specify how many belonged to women who are still missing or dead, according to ABC News.

Mexico City prosecutors sought Thursday to downplay the case of a suspected serial killer who kept women’s bones and a saw in his room, apparently having targeted women over the course of more than a decade.

The city’s head prosecutor said the remains of six women were found in the suspect’s rented room, “not 20 as some unfounded reports have suggested.”

City prosecutor Ulises Lara stressed that only three of the man's alleged crimes occurred during the present administration, which took office in late 2018. He said the others apparently occurred in 2012, 2015 and 2018, meaning the killer went uncaught for at least 12 years.

Lara slammed reports that all the crimes took place in 2023 and 2024, during the term of former Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum, who is now running for president. He called those reports “absolutely false and unfounded.”

The prosecutor contended the killer was essentially unstoppable because “he showed no signs of violent or aggressive behavior in his daily life.”

Under Mexican law, the suspect can be identified only by his first name, Miguel. Local media reported he worked as a chemist.

Lara did not specify the nature of the remains found in a search of the suspect’s rented rooms last week, but local media reported they were skulls.

Investigators also said they found blood stains, bones, a saw, cellphones and missing women’s ID cards, as well as other “biological material” in the rooms. Lara said five of the IDs belonged to women who have been located alive, but did not say how many belonged to women who are still missing or among the dead.

Last week, Lara said investigators also found “a series of notebooks that may well be narrations of the acts that Miguel carried out against his victims.”

The prosecutor rejected criticisms that Mexico City authorities do little to investigate the cases of missing women until their bodies pile up, saying the number of reported women's killings has declined.

The suspect in this case was caught when he allegedly broke into a neighbor's apartment seeking to kill his seventh victim last week, was interrupted and left a surviving witness.

According to prosecutors, the man apparently waited for a woman to leave her apartment last week and then rushed in and sexually abused and strangled her 17-year-old daughter.

The mother returned and saw the man leaving, but he slashed her in the neck and fled, authorities said. The mother survived but her daughter did not.

The suspect lived near the scene of the crime, and he was quickly identified and arrested. He has been ordered held over for trial on charges of murder and attempted murder, both related to the most recent victims.

Without proper funding, training or professionalism, prosecutors in Mexico's capital have routinely failed to stop serial killers until the number of victims reaches a point that can't be ignored.

For example, Lara said his office has contacted the families of four missing women because there is reason to believe they may be among the victims of the current suspect.

Juan Carlos Gutiรฉrrez, a lawyer who represents the family of one of those women, questioned why authorities didn't investigate her disappearance earlier — acting only when evidence linked to her case showed up at the suspect's apartment.

“Why was there never an investigation, why were people never interviewed, despite missing person reports being filed starting in 2015?” Gutiรฉrrez said.

In 2021, a serial killer in a Mexico City suburb was only caught after years of alleged crimes — 19 bodies were found hacked up and buried at his house — because his final victim was the wife of a police commander.

In 2018, a serial killer in Mexico City responsible for the deaths of at least 10 women was caught only when he was found pushing a dismembered body down the street in a baby carriage. He had dumped most of the bodies of his victims in vacant lots.

All of the 63 wildfires burning in Alberta's forest right now are human-caused, Todd Loewen, minister for forestry and parks, said on Wednesday.

Loewen's comment came during Wednesday's weekly Alberta wildfire update, where he urged citizens living in forested areas to obey all local fire bans and restrictions.

More than 170 wildfires have been put out across the province so far this year.

Currently, 63 wildfires are burning the province's forest protection area, with seven mutual aid fires. A mutual aid wildfire is a wildfire outside of the Forest Protection Area of Alberta in which Alberta Wildfire assists the lead agency.

This wildfire is classified as out of control at approximately 1500 hectares, the Alberta government reports.

"I urge you to assess your property for wildfire danger and take any preventive action you can to address these risks," Loewen said. "This includes breaking up fuel sources that could ignite a structure, removing trees in close proximity to your home, and properly maintaining your gutters and roofs to rid the materials that could easily ignite such as leaves and dry needles."

Loewen added that community members should be aware of fire bans in the area.

"These preventative measures play a crucial role in reducing human-caused wildfires when risk levels are high," he said.

"We expect that almost all of the wildfires we've experienced so far this year are human-caused, given the point we're at in the season and the types of weather we're seeing."

According to Josee St-Onge, an information officer with Alberta Wildfire, many regions of the province are expecting cool, wet weather. However, she cautioned that this might not be sufficient to alleviate the fire risk.

"We need significant and continued rain to overcome the drought conditions that we are experiencing across many parts of the province," she said.

"Snow has melted and exposed dead and dry vegetation which is extremely flammable for wildfire. Until vegetation green-up happens, wildfires will easily ignite and can spread very quickly."

Last year, the UCP government had to hire out-of-province arson investigators due to the uncharacteristically destructive wildfire season.

It was suspected that arson, not purported climate change, was to blame for a number of the large fires.

Throughout the 2023 wildfire season, 1,094 fires burnt a record 2.2 million hectares. The five-year average is 1,110 wildfires, though 2023 saw 10 times the amount of land burned.

Wildfire season is well underway in Alberta, with some communities already being forced to evacuate and provincial government officials implementing fire restrictions.

Last year marked a record wildfire year, burning more than 2.2 million hectares in Alberta. But drought helped several dozen fires survive throughout the winter and has left various regions drier than a year ago, resulting in an early wildfire season.

The Alberta government introduced fire restrictions for forest protection areas on April 24, as drought conditions bring extreme wildfire risk. Emergency management officials urged people to be cautious in the weeks ahead.

This article contains information and publicly available resources so people can prepare in advance for wildfires and stay updated about potential hazards in their community.

Tracking wildfires

Alberta Wildfire tracks all the wildfires burning in the province. It also keeps tabs on where fire bans, restrictions and advisories are in effect.

All wildfires that have occurred so far in 2024 can be found on the Alberta Wildfire interactive map. The map is part of the agency's status dashboard, which contains various statistics, such as the number of active fires and in what forest areas — Alberta has 10 of them — are affected.

The agency also updates a list of particularly serious fires — called wildfires of note — that are of public interest or could threaten people, communities, or important infrastructure. Fire information on that list is updated daily. The list can also be found on the Alberta Wildfire dashboard.

People can stay up to date by following Alberta Wildfire on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and YouTube.

Albertans can also use the Alberta Wildfire Status mobile app

People can also visit Alberta 511 to view highway conditions, including potential closures.

Wildfire starters

Alberta Wildfire investigates how fires are caused, breaking it down into two categories: human activity or lightning strikes.

About 60 per cent of the 1,088 wildfires that burned in Alberta last year were started by humans, provincial data shows. About one-third were caused by lightning.

But the lightning-caused fires did the most damage last year, burning about 1.75 million hectares — about 80 per cent of the total burned area.

Alberta Wildfire operates a lightning detection system that allows officials to track the wave of electricity and differentiate between bolts that land on the ground. Aerial patrols can then use the location data to check on certain points for fires.

Human-caused fires could include things like campfires and recreational activity, agricultural operations, industrial activity and arson.

Fire bans, restrictions and advisories

The Alberta government has a map, showing what communities and regions have active fire advisories, restrictions and bans.

Alberta Parks also lists such prohibitions within provincial parks and campgrounds.

The provincial government explains how each distinction differs:
  • Fire advisory: A signal that fire danger has increased. Fire permits may be restricted or suspended, but safe wood campfires and charcoal briquette barbecue fires are allowed.
  • Fire restriction: Prohibits wood campfires on public land, but allows them inside provincial campgrounds and private property. Charcoal barbecue fires are also allowed. Fire permits may be restricted, suspended or cancelled, but no new permits would be issued.
  • Fire ban: Prohibits wood campfires — on any type of property — and charcoal barbecue fires. Any existing fire permits will be suspended or cancelled, and no new permits will be issued.
Restrictions on off-highway vehicles, such as ATVs, and forest closures could also be issued.

People could be penalized for violating fire prohibitions, according to the provincial government's website. Someone who burns without a permit could be fined $360. People who knowingly contravene the Forest and Prairie Protection Act by starting a wildfire can be prosecuted in the courts and can be fined up to $100,000 or imprisoned for up to two years.

Prevention and preparation

Alberta's FireSmart program teaches people how to mitigate the risks and how fires could affect their communities and local infrastructure.

The program helps people plan at three different stages, helping residents, government officials and industry learn how to manage the landscape around homes and properties to prevent fires from causing damage.

The provincial government suggests people should be prepared to care of themselves for at least three days, such as storing important documents — IDs and banking information, for example — in a safe place above ground and maintaining an emergency kit.

An emergency kit should have non-perishable snacks, like granola bars and trail mix, and at least 72 hours worth of water and electrolytes — four litres of liquid per person, per day. It should have medical supplies, like bandages and antiseptic wipes, and medications — over-the-counter and prescription.

A copy of all personal documents, including IDs, social insurance numbers and citizenship papers, should be stored in the kit in a protective, sealable bag.

If possible, people should pack enough cash to cover up to three days' worth of expenses. They should pack a multi-tool, a battery-powered crank radio and flashlight, extra blankets, electronics with a vehicle charger and some small things to amuse themselves — books and portable toys and games.

The provincial government suggests people check on their supplies to make sure nothing is expired, batteries are charged and documents and credit cards are updated.

Alberta Wildfire tracks fire danger, how fires are behaving and how weather is affecting potential risk.

Anyone who sees a wildfire should report it to Alberta Wildfire by calling 310-3473.

Evacuations

When a wildfire is nearby, the Alberta government urges people to listen for updates from local authorities and be prepared to evacuate quickly.

There are two types of evacuation advisories:
  • Evacuation alerts: warn the public of a potential or current threat. If an alert is issued, people should prepare to evacuate because an evacuation order could be coming.
  • Evacuation orders: issued when the public must evacuate the area for their safety.
People can stay up to date about emergencies through Alberta Emergency Alert.

The Alberta Emergency Management Agency tracks alerts and places them on a map. Yellow icons mark advisories, encouraging people to take action. Red icons are critical and people need to take immediate action.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County District Attorney Sandra Doorley drove home and called the Webster police chief when officers tried to pull her over for speeding Monday.

Officer-worn body camera footage of the incident was released to the public Friday, showing Doorley repeatedly invoking her position as district attorney and refusing to follow orders.

“I’m the D.A.,” Doorley says to the first officer to approach her, standing outside her car and parked in a garage when the video begins. “I was going 55 coming home from work.”

“55 in a 35,” the officer says.

“I don’t really care,” Doorley says. The officer asks her to exit the garage. “You can call Dennis Kohlmeier right now,” she says.

“Why are you so upset at me,” the officer says while Doorley dials the phone. “I’m doing my job. You just admitted to me you were going 55 in a 35 on Phillips Road.”

In a statement Thursday, Doorley said she called Webster Police Chief Dennis Kohlmeier, “to inform him that I was not a threat and that I would speak to the Officer at my house down the street.” Body camera footage released Friday shows exactly what she said on the phone in the driveway.

“Can you please tell him to leave me alone,” Doorley says.

“Can you please stay over here,” the officer says when Doorley begins to walk away.

“No I’m not staying over here,” she says.

“This is a legal traffic stop. Do you have your ID?”

Doorley does not give the officer her ID. Instead she gives him her phone, says Dennis Kohlmeier is on the line, and once again walks into the garage, eventually going all the way into her house.

“I understand the law better than you,” she tells the officer as he tries to get her back outside. She continues to refuse to leave the garage, at one point returning to her car to get her badge to show the officer.

“I just don’t understand the hostility toward me,” the officer says. “I’m doing my job.”

“No, you’re being an [expletive],” Doorley says.

“How am I being an [expletive],” the officer says.

“I am the DA of Monroe County,” Doorley says.

“I understand that, but that doesn’t give you a right to go 55 in a 35,” the officer says.

“I don’t really care,” Doorley says. “I don’t really care. You know what? If you give me a traffic ticket that’s fine. I’m the one who prosecutes it.”

As more officers and a supervisor arrive to the scene, Doorley continues refusing to leave the garage, telling police she’d had a bad day dealing with murders in Rochester.

“I’m going to prosecute myself,” Doorley says later in the video. “Do you know what I’ll do with the ticket?” Then she laughs.

In a statement Thursday, before the video was released, Doorley said she pled guilty and sent the ticket to Webster Town Court.

News 8 reached out to the district attorney’s office after the video was released. The office referred to the previous statement, in which Doorley said, “I believe in accepting responsibility for my actions and had no intention of using my position to receive a benefit.” That statement is available in full below, along with body camera footage from four of the responding officers.

Read the statement from Sandra Doorley
“On Monday, April 22, 2024, I was driving home following a busy day at work. I admit that I was not paying attention to my speed on Phillips Road in the Town of Webster. Less than half a mile from my neighborhood, I noticed a Webster Police car behind me. Once I realized that the intention of the car was to pull me over, I called the Webster Police Chief to inform him that I was not a threat and that I would speak to the Officer at my house down the street. The Webster Police Officer followed me to my house and issued me a speeding ticket for my speed of 55mph in a 35mph zone. I acknowledged that I was speeding and I accepted the ticket. By 1:00PM the following day, I pled guilty and sent the ticket to the Webster Town Court because I believe in accepting responsibility for my actions and had no intention of using my position to receive a benefit. Nobody, including your District Attorney, is above the rule of law, even traffic laws. Anybody who knows me understands without a doubt that I have dedicated my entire 33 year career to the safety of this community. My work to ensure the safety and respect of law enforcement is well proven time and time again. I stand by my work and stand by my commitment to the public safety of Monroe County.”

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Florida – Security camera footage from a Florida event venue shows the moment a fight broke out which led to a shooting that left 10 people, including Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell, injured.

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office released the video along with more information about what happened at the Cabana Live event venue during the early morning hours on Sunday.

The sheriff’s office says deputies initially responded to the venue just after midnight to establish an area patrol due to a large crowd, estimated at around 200 people.

“The event was promoted as “No One Leaves Sober” and did not have the required event permit. Concerned about the number of patrons in the establishment, shortly after arrival, deputies heard multiple gunshots originating from the rear of the establishment, prompting the dispersal of the crowd,” a press release on the incident said.

When deputies got inside, they were met with an armed security officer who had successfully apprehended the suspected shooter, a 16-year-old male. The deputies also discovered 10 people had received non-life threatening injuries from the shooting. The sheriff’s office says nine of the 10 victims have since been treated and released from hospitals.

The sheriff’s office said the shooting began as a fight between attendees. During the fight, the 16-year-old suspect pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots towards a crowd of people. Deputies said they later found out a second unidentified person had returned fire with five additional rounds. The search continues for the second unidentified gunman.

“We’re fortunate no one is dead or more people injured,” said Sheriff Dennis Lemma, who credited the actions of a security guard as “heroic.” “He literally tackled this guy from behind, got his weapon, and delivered him to us in handcuffs.”

The promoters had ten armed security guards working the event and had a no-firearms policy for patrons. It’s unclear how the teen charged got in with the handgun, but will be part of the ongoing investigation.

Tank Dell received minor wounds as an innocent bystander in the shooting. He was treated and released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

The 16-year-old suspect has been charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, use and display of a firearm during a felony, firing a weapon on public property and attempted homicide. He is being held at a Florida juvenile detention center.

At least five deaths, including one of a 4-month-old child in Oklahoma, were confirmed Sunday from a severe storm that swept through the heartland, spawning multiple tornadoes across four states, including a powerful pair of twisters that touched down in Nebraska, officials said.

Emergency officials in Hughes County, Oklahoma, said the baby was one of four people killed in storms that struck Holdenville. One person died from storm-related injuries at a sports bar in Sulphur that was hit by a tornado, officials said. At least 30 people were injured in Sulphur, including 20 who were at the sports bar, according to officials.

Oklahoma Gov. J. Kevin Stitt confirmed Sunday afternoon that at least four people were killed in the storms that slammed his state.

One person was reported dead in Marietta, Oklahoma, and two people were killed in Ada, Oklahoma, Stitt said.

A state of emergency was declared in 12 Oklahoma counties, authorities said.

Sunday night, the National Weather Service in Norman, Oklahoma, announced a preliminary determination of "at least" an EF3 tornado in Sulphur and also "at least" an EF3 in Marietta.

President Joe Biden spoke to Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt on Sunday, according to the White House. The president offered the "full support of the federal government" after Saturday's fatal tornadoes.

Gov. Governor Jim Pillen Sunday night issued an emergency declaration for Douglas, Lancaster and Washington Counties, making the eligible to "receive assistance funding through the state for recovery."

A man who was injured and hospitalized when a tornado hit Minden, Iowa, on Friday, has also died, his family confirmed Sunday to Omaha, Nebraska, ABC affiliate KETV.

A tornado tore through Minden in Pottawattamie County around 6 p.m. on Friday, destroying 40 to 50 homes, or about half the town, according to the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office. County officials confirmed that three people were injured in the tornado.

Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds toured the devastated town on Sunday and activated emergency policies.

As communities were left reeling from the devastating twisters, a new tornado watch was issued Sunday afternoon for portions of eastern Texas just as two funnel clouds were confirmed near Rosebud and Freestone, Texas, officials said. The tornado watch will be in effect until 9 p.m. CT.

Sunday marks the third day of the severe weather outbreak across the heartland states. More than 22 million people are under a threat of violent storms Sunday in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Illinois.

Holdenville, a town of about 6,000 people 77 miles southeast of Oklahoma City, was left reeling after a violent tornado touched down near the city late Saturday amid a statewide tornado outbreak.

A search for victims and an assessment of damage was launched Saturday night after storms passed through the area, Hughes County Emergency Management officials said.

A Holdenville family told Oklahoma City ABC affiliate station KOCO that a relative lost their home in the storm and remained hospitalized Sunday.

At one point, crews searched the damaged Holdenville home for the child before finding the baby, who was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to the Hughes County emergency manager.

"My prayers are with those who lost loved ones as tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma last night," Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said in a statement Sunday. "Thank you to Oklahoma Emergency Management and those who have worked through the night to keep Oklahomans safe and have worked to clear debris and assess damage."

A destructive tornado also hit Sulfur, Oklahoma, in Murray County, destroying buildings and scattering debris for miles, authorities said. At least four other people were injured in Sulphur, including three with major injuries, officials said.

An ABC News crew in Sulphur on Sunday observed several damaged businesses, including one with a collapsed roof and others with broken windows. Several cars were seen flipped over in the downtown area.

"I never dreamed it could do this much damage," Julie Cox, a Sulphur business owner, told ABC News.

Cox's business, Pamper Me Boutique, was destroyed, and she tearfully told ABC News she let her insurance lapse due to the economy and now doesn't know how she will rebuild.

Tornadoes were reported Saturday across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Nebraska, officials said. There were nearly 120 tornado reports in the last two days, according to the National Weather Service.

NWS teams were working Sunday to confirm the tornado reports but cautioned that the numbers are constantly being adjusted as new reports come in and duplicates are removed.

An enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms is in the outlook Sunday from eastern Texas to southern Missouri, as well as the possibility of strong tornadoes, damaging wind and large hail.

While Oklahoma was taking the brunt of the tornado outbreak, Nebraska endured the strongest tornadoes confirmed on Saturday.

Preliminary information suggests that two "strong, rare tornadoes" touched down in Douglas County, Chris Franks with the National Weather Service said during a press briefing Saturday. The NWS found evidence of EF-2 and EF-3 tornado damage there following Friday's storms, Franks said.

No fatalities have been reported so far following the Nebraska storms, officials said.

Widespread damage was reported in the Elkhorn neighborhood of Omaha, officials said. New photos emerged Sunday showing numerous destroyed homes in the area.

"For that big of a storm, to have the property damage that was so extensive, without the loss of life," Douglas County Emergency Management Director Paul Johnson said during the press briefing. "It's a tremendous attribute to the city of Omaha."

Another tornado emergency was issued Saturday for Knox City, Texas, where a large and damaging tornado was reported near the town. Baseball-sized hail was also reported with this tornadic storm, officials said.

A tornado was also confirmed Saturday near the intersection of Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri. The confirmed tornado was eight miles north of Robinson, Kansas.

Storms are forecast to continue Sunday across the multistate region with heavy rain expected at times.

A flood watch remains in effect Sunday for a large area in the southern Plains and Ozarks, covering portions of seven states. Flash flood warnings were issued Saturday night and into Sunday morning as many communities reported 2 to 5-plus inches of rainfall and emergency officials urged residents to avoid flooded roads.

USA: Meet Former Top FBI Lawyer Turned Brookings Institute Fellow Turned CNN Contributor Turned Twitter Deputy Counsel At Twitter Who Musk Fired. He Censored Hunter Biden Laptop Exposure.

The Daily Caller
written by Harold Hutchinson
Tuesday December 6, 2022

Elon Musk announced Tuesday that former FBI lawyer James Baker, who was Twitter’s deputy general counsel, had been “exited” from the company for allegedly holding up the release of documents pertaining to the platform’s handling of the Hunter Biden laptop report.

“In light of concerns about Baker’s possible role in suppression of information important to the public dialogue, he was exited from Twitter today,” Musk posted on the social media site in response to Matt Taibbi tweeting a Sunday column by constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley.

Taibbi revealed the reason behind the alleged delay in the Twitter files’ release in a thread posted on the social media site Tuesday.

“On Friday, the first installment of the Twitter files was published here. We expected to publish more over the weekend. Many wondered why there was a delay,” Taibbi posted Tuesday.

“On Tuesday, Twitter Deputy General Counsel (and former FBI General Counsel) Jim Baker was fired,” Taibbi said in a follow-up tweet. “Among the reasons? Vetting the first batch of “Twitter Files” – without knowledge of new management.”

Musk said Baker’s explanation for delaying the release of materials was “unconvincing”

Taibbi noted that former New York Times journalist Bari Weiss also received documents from Musk, and Weiss learned that Baker was responsible for releasing the documents.

“My jaw hit the floor,” Weiss said, according to Taibbi.

Taibbi published documents Friday about Twitter’s actions with regards to an October 2020 report by the New York Post about the contents of a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden. Taibbi noted Friday that Baker had urged Twitter employees “caution is warranted” about the laptop materials because there had been no proof that the materials were not obtained via hacking.

Twitter censored the story, blocking the New York Post from accessing its account, and also suspended other accounts, including the personal account of then-White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

Baker, who was also involved in the probe of former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, joined Twitter after leaving the FBI in June 2020. Baker approved surveillance on Carter Page, a Trump campaign aide, based on information contained in the since-discredited Steele Dossier.

The Daily Caller News Foundation confirmed the authenticity of the email the New York Post reported on in October 2020. Over a year later, The New York Times, Washington Post and CBS News confirmed the laptop’s authenticity.

Taibbi said that Weiss would be releasing more of the documents on Twitter’s censorship at an undetermined time.

Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation. The DCNF was unable to contact Baker for comment.

Below is my column in the New York Post on the reemergence of James Baker, the former FBI general counsel, at the center of the Twitter suppression scandal.

Here is the column:

As thousands of Twitter documents are released on the company’s infamous censorship program, much has been confirmed about the use of back channels by Biden and Democratic officials to silence critics on the social media platform. However, one familiar name immediately popped out in the first batch of documents released through journalist Matt Taibbi: James Baker. For many, James Baker is fast becoming the Kevin Bacon of the Russian collusion scandals.

Baker has been featured repeatedly in the Russian investigations launched by the Justice Department, including the hoax involving the Russian Alfa Bank. When Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann wanted to plant the bizarre false claim of a secret communications channel between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, Baker was his go-to, speed-dial contact. (Baker would later testify at Sussmann’s trial). Baker’s name also appeared prominently in controversies related to the other Russian-related FBI allegations against Trump. He was effectively forced out due to his role and reportedly found himself under criminal investigation. He became a defender of the Russian investigations despite findings of biased and even criminal conduct. He was also a frequent target of Donald Trump on social media, including Twitter. Baker responded with public criticism of Trump for his “false narratives.”

After leaving the FBI, Twitter seemed eager to hire Baker as deputy general counsel. Ironically, Baker soon became involved in another alleged back channel with a presidential campaign. This time it was Twitter that maintained the non-public channels with the Biden campaign (and later the White House). Baker soon weighed in with the same signature bias that characterized the Russian investigations.

Weeks before the 2020 presidential election, the New York Post ran an explosive story about a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden that contained emails and records detailing a multimillion dollar influence peddling operation by the Biden family. Not only was Joe Biden’s son Hunter and brother James involved in deals with an array of dubious foreign figures, but Joe Biden was referenced as the possible recipient of funds from these deals.

The Bidens had long been accused of influence peddling, nepotism, and other forms of corruption. Moreover, the campaign was not denying that the laptop was Hunter Biden’s and key emails could be confirmed from the other parties involved. However, at the request of the “Biden team” and Democratic operatives, Twitter moved to block the story. It even suspended those who tried to share the allegations with others, including the White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who was suspended for linking to the scandal.

Even inside Twitter, the move raised serious concerns over the company serving as a censor for the Biden campaign. Global Comms Brandon Borrman who asked if the company could “truthfully claim that this is part of the policy” for barring posts and suspending users.

Baker quickly jumped in to support the censorship and said that “it’s reasonable for us to assume that they may have been [hacked] and that caution is warranted.”

Keep in mind that there was never any evidence that this material was hacked. Moreover, there was no evidence of Russian involvement in the laptop. Indeed, U.S. intelligence quickly rejected the Russian disinformation claim.

However, Baker insisted that there was a “reasonable” assumption that Russians were behind another major scandal. Faced with a major scandal implicating a Joe Biden in the corrupt selling of access to foreign figures (including some with foreign intelligence associations), Baker’s natural default was to kill the story and stop others from sharing the allegations.

The released documents may show why Twitter was so eager to hire Baker despite his role in the Russian collusion controversies. What likely would have been a liability for most companies seemed an actual draw for Twitter. For censors and political operatives in Twitter, Baker likely seemed like a “made man” for a company committed to systemic censorship. He would be working with the chief legal officer at the company, Vijaya Gadde, who functioned as the company’s chief censor. Gadde was widely reviled by free speech advocates for her dismissal of free speech principles and open political bias.

Not unexpectedly, Gadde and Baker would play prominent roles in the suppression of the Hunter Biden scandal. There was hardly a need to round up “the usual suspects” in the suppression scandal when Musk took over the company. Both lawyers swatted down internal misgivings to bury a story that could well have made the difference in the close 2020 election.

It is striking how many of the figures and institutions involved in Russian collusion claims are within six degrees of James Baker. Not only did Baker work closely with fired FBI director James Comey and other key figures at the Justice Department, but he was an acquaintance of key Clinton figures like Sussmann who pushed the false collusion allegations. He was also hired by Brookings Institution, which also has a curious Bacon-like role in the origins and development of the false Russian collusion allegations.

None of these means that Baker was the driving force of the scandals. To the contrary, Baker earned his bones in Washington as a facilitator, a reliable ally when it came to the business of the Beltway. It is hardly a surprise that Baker found a home at Twitter where “caution” was always “warranted” in dealing with potentially damaging stories for Democratic interests.

USA: Texas Republican Rep McCaul Leading The Charge To Ban Tiktok Bought META Stock The Rival Social Media Platform 2 Weeks Before Voting To Ban Tiktok. Commie Israel Lobby Behind TikTok Ban.

GlobalAwareness101 published The TikTok Ban Just Passed In The House. They Snuck Into Israel Aid Bill. I stitched together several short videos all related to desperately wanting to ban Tiktok because they can't have young people sharing information that might influence other young people. These people control what information the mainstream media feeds us. They hate information being shared because then their own propaganda lies get exposed and well they can't have that.

That's censorship. So I don't understand how congress claims to be afraid of one foreign influence but not the other foreign influence that wants to ban this popular platform? Then they badmouth China Communist censorship but not the other NWO Commies? Soooo, Americans are still getting the shaft from Commies either way. I added the captions to this video I put together to help me tell a story.
GlobalAwareness101 published Texas Republican Rep McCaul Bought Meta 2 Was Before Voting To Ban Tiktok.
FOX 5 Atlanta pubilshed April 24, 2024: TikTok CEO responds to ban. The Senate passed a bipartisan foreign aid bill last night that takes up the issues surrounding TikTok. Many lawmakers have warned of security risks from the social media app.
CBC News published April 24, 2024: Biden to sign law that could ban TikTok in U.S. U.S. President Joe Biden is expected to sign a law that sets a January 2025 deadline for Chinese parent company ByteDance to sell its U.S. operation. Lawmakers behind the ban have warned of national security risks from the popular social video app.
Here's an important excerpt from the CBC news report above. Washington D.C. correspondent Richard Madan reports, "Now here's the thing, under the original bill the ban would take effect in September. But the Senate PURPOSELY MOVED THAT DEADLINE to January of next year notably AFTER NOVEMBER'S ELECTION. That's because Tiktok will likely be a major force during the campaign FOR CANDIDATES TO REACH YOUNGER VOTERS and a delay may help politicians avoid the backlash."

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, one of the top China hawks in Congress who is leading the charge to restrict TikTok nationwide, warned Texas lawmakers not to discriminate against Chinese Americans and immigrants in their own statewide social media ban legislation.

Both McCaul and members of the Texas House introduced bills to curb perceived security threats by Chinese actors in the country via popular social media apps like TikTok, which is owned by a China-based company. McCaul’s bill, the DATA Act, would require the administration to determine whether TikTok or its Beijing-based parent company, ByteDance, has ever transferred sensitive data to the Chinese government and to ban the app from the U.S. if so.

Meanwhile in the Texas Legislature, Rep. Jared Patterson, R-Frisco, introduced a bill that would blanket ban apps owned by companies headquartered in a number of countries, including China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. Asian American groups decried the bill as too sweeping, asserting it would cut off many avenues for communication between immigrants and families back in China.

It’s a concern that appears to resonate with McCaul, who pressed members of the Legislature to keep their bills focused on national security concerns and not pass laws so broad that they unfairly impact Chinese Americans and other immigrants.

“I’ve urged the state Legislature to be targeted in their approach, not a swath that would catch people that are just fleeing oppression,” McCaul said in an interview with The Texas Tribune. “It’s got to be very careful not to go too far with that and discriminate against, you know, people that are fleeing oppression versus those that are operating under espionage purposes.”

McCaul, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said he held a similar sentiment toward state legislation targeting land ownership by Chinese nationals. Gov. Greg Abbott expressed support earlier this year for banning land sales to certain Chinese citizens, which Asian American groups said could contribute to discrimination in the housing market. McCaul said land purchases by Chinese government actors around military bases was a legitimate security concern, “but again, I would make it targeted towards CCP-owned-and-operated enterprises.”

The representative refrained from making any judgments on the state bills specifically while they are still going through the legislative process. Patterson’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

TikTok’s CEO, Shou Zi Chew, emphatically denied any data sharing with Beijing during a blockbuster hearing with the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee last month. Chew said all data storage was in the process of being transferred to the U.S. in a plan dubbed “Project Texas” to keep it away from Chinese government interference. Efforts to ban TikTok also face resistance on First Amendment grounds and from small-business owners and influencers who say the app has given them opportunities otherwise out of their reach. The company has also engaged in an aggressive lobbying effort to keep its U.S. operations afloat.

“We have not provided U.S. user data to the CCP, nor would we if asked,” Chew wrote in a letter last year to Senate Republicans.

But Chew’s vows did little to instill confidence, with members on both sides of the aisle and the White House expressing concern with TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, being subject to Chinese laws.

“If you look at the Chinese Communist Party, and just their history collecting data, even on their own citizens, people really need to be concerned,” said U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey, D-Fort Worth, in an interview with the Tribune. “If this is going to be the predominant and most popular platform for our kids, we need to be concerned because I do think that the Chinese government would ultimately want to use it for nefarious reasons.”

McCaul expressed his concerns Tuesday after completing a bipartisan tour of East Asia to study the threat to U.S. allies by China. The visit included stopovers in Taiwan, South Korea and Japan — principal democratic allies in the region.

The visit to Taiwan was particularly provocative to Beijing, which still views the island as an integral part of the People’s Republic of China. But McCaul said it was important to show support for Taiwan at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping is making his ambitions to retake the island clear.

McCaul said deterring Chinese incursion is “probably the biggest unifying factor in the Congress.” San Antonio’s U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro, a Democratic member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, introduced legislation this congressional session shoring up relations with Southeast Asia in an apparent effort to counter Chinese influence in the region. It passed the House by an overwhelmingly bipartisan vote last month.

Other areas McCaul said Congress should focus on include export controls to ensure Chinese “malign actors” don’t steal U.S. technology and continued funding for Ukraine in its war against Russia, which China views as a litmus test on the United States’ willingness to support Taiwan in the event of an invasion.

๐Ÿ‘‡ I WILL KEEP REPEATING THIS ๐Ÿ‘‡

Not all Jewish people are Illuminati Kabbalist Talmudic Jews. There are non-practicing Jewish people looking for the meaning of life like most of humanity, and there are Jewish people who are called Messianic Jews because they believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and there are Jewish people who are Atheist who don't care about anything and want to be left alone.

THEN there are those born Jewish but DO NOT worship the Lord God almighty aka the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob like those who practice Jewish Kabbalah Talmudic Mysticism esoteric black magic. They worship Lucifer aka Satan, Baal, Remphan, Moloch like the infamous Rothschild's who head the Illuminati Kabbalists, the famous occultist Nostradamus who wrote prophecies using a bowl of water called a "magic mirror" getting help "seeing" from the dark underworld, the famous master of darkness British occultist Aleister Crowley "who was a practitioner of “magick” (as he spelled it) and called himself the Beast 666", and Anton LaVey, creator of the Church of Satan and who wrote The Satanic Bible, etc.

So please don't lump all Jewish people together. That is what the Kabbalists want. They make you believe they worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob with their outward presence. It's all a pretense.

I would like to add that the Commie Jews and Transhumanist Jews DO NOT worship the God of the Torah and Bible aka the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They are Luciferians.

The famous Karl Marx who wrote the Communist Manifesto was born Jewish BUT was a Satanist. I just found out that Lenin was a Jewish Commie atheist. And according to a NYT article dated March 17, 1955, Stalin Called Himself a Zionist But Cited Soviet Jewish 'Problem'; He Told Roosevelt at Yalta Parley of Failure of Birobidzhan Settlement Plan --Picture of Red Leader Unfolded. The God fearing Jews were the problem for him.

"WASHINGTON, March 16-- Premier Stalin told President Roosevelt at the Yalta conference that he himself was a Zionist in principle but that Soviet Jews had posed a difficult problem for him."

Then you have those born Jewish but identify as Transhumanists like WEF founder Klaus Schwab and his advisor Yuval Noah Hariri. They loathe God of the Torah and Bible just like the rest of the Commie NWO globalists who are all Luciferians. They tell us their goal is to turn human beings into THE BORG.

Those who practice Judaic Kabbalah Talmudic Mysticism do not worship the God of King David. That's the deception in calling The Seal of Solomon, the Star of David. King Solomon turned his back on the God his father King David worshipped, the God of Abraham, Isaac, because Solomon began worshipping demonic gods Remphan and Moloch to gain sexual gratification from a non-Jewish pagan woman he was lusting after because being the richest man in the world, 700 wives and 300 concubines wasn't enough. Our God almighty took away everything he gave King Solomon INCLUDING HIS COVERING. Look up the Fall of King Solomon. So that's where the black magic comes in and the Keys of Solomonic black magic. Therefore, the "Star of David" protection is not coming from the God King David worshipped, it's coming from the demonic gods King Solomon sold his soul and his kingdom's soul to so he could have sexual relations with that one non-Jewish woman who told him basically if you want my vajayjay, you will bow down to my gods and he did. He lost everything for that one vajayjay. Crazy. The Star of David has nothing to do with King David. The Star of David, is a derivative of the Seal of Solomon. We have been lied to about a lot of things. It's mind blowing. I'm still having a hard time processing everything I've been finding out. (emphasis mine)

Bob Larson explains Lilith demon is mentioned in the Zohar, Kabbalistic movement of occult mystical Judaism. Their adaptation of the original Torah. They perverted, blasphemed the holy scriptures of the Torah. They don't believe God parted the red sea for Moses. They don't believe in Eve who God created from Adam. They worship Baal, Remphan, Moloch and despise Christians where they are allowed to attack, spit on, disrespect Christians in Israel. IT IS THEIR LEGAL RIGHT.

"According to the legend of Kabbalistic (Talmudic) Judaism (escoteric black magic), the true wife of Adam was Lilith. But Eve sexually seduced Adam to begin the human race and therefore she took the place of Lilith. And those in occult Satanism and Kabbalism Judaism want to restore Lilith to her rightful place." ~Bob Larson

For those of you who don't know, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy appointed Marina Abramovic to be an Ambassador for Ukraine for rebuilding schools in Ukraine. She's the "spirit cooker" lady. She was born into an affluent family who held prominent positions in the Communist government of Yugoslavia.  The Israel the Rothschild Illuminati Kabbalist Jews were reclaiming is not the Kingdom of Israel ruled by Kind David. Those who reclaimed this Israel do not worship the God of the Bible and the Torah. Even the "Star of David" has nothing to do with King David. It is the Seal of Solomon protected by Remphan demonic general. (emphasis mine)

BUT WE'RE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT THIS OR CONNECT THE DOTS. IF YOU DO, THEY SILENCE YOU BY CALLING YOU AN ANTI-SEMITE. BECAUSE THE PUBLIC CANNOT KNOW THIS INFORMATION.

WEF Transhumanist "you will own nothing and be happy.", Klaus Schwab admires Lenin who was a Communist just like him. Now who is Lenin you ask?

From History.com: Vladimir Lenin was a Russian Communist revolutionary and head of the Bolshevik Party who rose to prominence during the Russian Revolution of 1917, one of the most explosive political events of the twentieth century. The bloody upheaval marked the end of the oppressive Romanov dynasty and centuries of imperial rule in Russia. The Bolsheviks would later become the Communist Party, making Lenin leader of the Soviet Union, the world’s first communist state.

According to Encyclopedia.com: The Bolsheviks movement early development of Marxism in Russia. Marxism first attracted radical Russian intellectuals in the 1880s, when a few disillusioned populists saw in the emerging urban proletariat the key to transforming Russia's repressive political and social system. The movement gathered momentum in the 1890s with the acceleration of Russian industrialization.

According to MarkHumphrys.com: The Lenin / Trotsky period, 1917-24: Some people think Lenin and Trotsky were "not as bad" as Stalin, that the 1917 revolution was not criminal from the start, but only became criminal later. This is one of the greatest lies in history. Lenin and Trotsky killed 4 million people - men, women and children - by mass executions, death camps, and state-caused famine. Read The Black Book of Communism for a good introduction to their genocide, which started as soon as they got into power in 1917.

The famine: Russian famine of 1921, The Bolsheviks destroyed Russia's economy. By 1920 the ruble had lost 96 percent of its value. Lenin and Trotsky's oppression became ferocious as the cities ran out of food due to the collapse of the economy, caused by themselves and their stupid Marxist ideas. Innocent rural Russia was robbed of its food and butchered and starved by the parasitical urban communists.

The Bolsheviks started a massive program of confiscating the food of the countryside, and starved them into submission. The monsters Lenin and Trotsky deliberately started a famine as a political weapon. They caused the massive famine of 1921-22, deliberately killing millions of men, women and children. [Rudolph J. Rummel] estimates 2.5 million dead. [The Black Book of Communism] estimates 5 million dead.

From Dispropaganda.com, Lenin, the Communist mass murderer that owned nine Rolls-Royce. It was also Lenin that instituted the use of Communist concentration camps for political prisoners, also known as “Gulags”, throughout Communist Russia. The Gulag system, which would be expanded and multiplied under Stalin, would end up claiming the lives of millions of people.

While Lenin and his Communist gangsters went on and murdered countless of people in Russia simply because they owned private property, Lenin himself was not shy of behaving like a consummate, decedent, bourgeoisie.

So while the Russian peasants and proletarians were literally dying of hunger all over Russia, Lenin made sure that wherever he traveled to in Communist Russia to preach about his "Communist values", it was always in style, and always in a flashy, capitalistic, expensive, bourgeoisie, Rolls Royce.

Lenin's real legacy was that he replaced one totalitarian system, Tsarism, with another, Communism. Only Communism in Russia would prove to be much more destructive than Tsarism ever was, and would go on to claim the lives of tens of millions of people all over Europe untill the collapse of the USSR IN 1991.
COME ON PEOPLE. I NEED YOU TO SEE WHO THEY ARE. If a person admires Hitler everybody immediately freaks out right? So, um... hello... Lenin genocided ten times more people than Hitler did. They are both monsters that should not be admired and if they are why the hell are we even bothering to listen to these pyschopaths? or worse allowing these psychopaths to DICTATE HOW WE LIVE OUR LIVES and WHO GETS TO LIVE. (emphasis mine)
