Twilight Zone - The Obsolete Man (1961)
Twilight Zone - To Serve Man (1962)
You can watch the full episode of Time Enough at Last (1959) for free at this CBS link CLICK HERE.
For the third year in a row, I was shocked when I found out that no network was having a Twilight Zone marathon this Thanksgiving day. Shocked I tell you. 😱 It's been an American tradition forever.
But do not despair my fellow Twilight Zone lovers! You can watch all Twilight Zone episodes on Netflix or Dailymotion and have your own TZ marathon today! I'm creating my own Twilight Zone HEAVEN this Thanksgiving holiday weekend. :D Hope you're all doing whatever it is that puts a smile on your face and makes you happy. ❤
I have shared my top three favorite episodes: The Obsolete Man, To Serve Man, and Time Enough at Last. Although, I have to say that ALL of the Twilight Zone episodes are AMAZING and sublime! Rod Serling was a prophetic storytelling/writing genius! I would also like to point out that the acting was SUPERB! They had GREAT producers and directors! It's like they all shared the same vision. :D
I've thrown in a BONUS TZ episode titled The Eye of the Beholder (1960) for your enjoyment. :) The video above is a small clip of the first 3:42 minutes of this episode to give you an idea of the story. You can CLICK HERE to watch the full episode for free at the CBS all access website.
Oh wow, very interesting. I never thought to look it up until now.— GlobalAwareness101 (@Mononoke__Hime) November 24, 2017
I've been having my own Thanksgiving day Twilight Zone marathon thanks to Netflix.
And just now, while admiring Rod Serling's work, I became curious what his birthday was. Well it's Dec 25 and he's a Capricorn.

More Than A Day
written by Karl Fuchs
As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we're poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.
We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We're wealthy, when push comes to shove.
So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you've got;
Realize it's a lot,
Thanksgiving Delights
written by Joanna Fuchs
On Thanksgiving Day we’re thankful for
Our blessings all year through,
For family we dearly love,
For good friends, old and new.
For sun to light and warm our days,
For stars that glow at night,
For trees of green and skies of blue,
And puffy clouds of white.
We’re grateful for our eyes that see
The beauty all around,
For arms to hug, and legs to walk,
And ears to hear each sound.
The list of all we’re grateful for
Would fill a great big book;
Our thankful hearts find new delights
Everywhere we look!
Happy Thanksgiving Day Everybody!!! :) ❤

I would like to publicly thank God first and foremost for loving me unconditionally, for never giving up on me, for always believing in me and for taking care of all of my needs. I also thank God for blessing me with a great mom, great meow's, great friends, a creative mind, a free spirit and a loving heart. I can't forget to thank all of my readers from all around the world for all of your love and support. You are greatly appreciated. ❤❤❤
This may be a national holiday for giving thanks, a day of reflecting. Nevertheless, we must make it a point to give thanks to God every day of our lives for even the most basic needs fulfilled daily. Here are a few examples of what we could be thankful for daily: a roof over our head, a warm comfy bed to sleep in, clean running water, a toilet that flushes, electricity, a refrigerator to store food, a stove to cook, a microwave, a television, a radio, a computer, the internet, a phone to communicate with others, paved roads, traffic lights, the kindness of others, smiles, laughter, music, entertainment, the Twilight Zone... you get the picture, don't you? We can get really deep if you want and we can thank God for our sight, our hearing, our sense of smell, our sense of taste, our sense of touch. Thank Him that we are in good health or how about thanking God for giving us another day to enjoy. Love you! Hope you have a GREAT day! :) ❤

New Moon is Tuesday, November 26 at 8:05am Mountain Standard Time (MST).
This moon supports expansion, freedom, practicality, a higher sense of intuition and beauty, and an increase in your inner awareness of what you want, what you can have and what you deserve. This is the “proactive change” growing teeth and getting grounded in something substantial as you anchor a new vision or a new project.
This new moon also initiates a time frame of preparedness for what is coming in the future. It is not too early to get thinking about your goals and desires for the months to come. And, whatever you can get rid of that is no longer useful during this new moon time will make space for what you really want.
This is a social time where you can share your visions and get support. Celebrate change, progress and all the aspects of your life that are on the move to something better, bigger, grander and more balanced. Be sure to take some time for self care as your emotional and physical health is a major component of being prepared for the future. If you have some clarity about what you want, this new moon is also a great time for actually making a concrete list of what is clear to you and how you plan to go about manifesting it.
Blessings,
Lena

Sagittarius New Moon Cycle
Sun and Moon in Sagittarius ~ 4º
Tuesday, Nov. 26, 8:05 AM Mountain Standard Time
(Tuesday, Nov. 26, 3:05 PM Greenwich Mean Time)
Sagittarius, The archer, shoots his arrow skyward and our horizons expand, we see the underlying meaning in our lives, our understanding of the big picture vista lifts our spirits and we feel confident, enthusiastic and capable.
Jupiter, the ruler of this fire sign, is strengthened in its influence by traveling this whole year in its own sign that it inhabits only once every 12 years. During our current New Moon time, Jupiter is making a magnificent journey across the center of our Milky Way Galaxy, across the Galactic Center that is at 27º Sagittarius, across the black hole around which this galaxy rotates with its beautiful spiral arms. It’s download time as we spend the last few degrees of Sagittarius with Jupiter and move then across the 0º line of Capricorn known as the World Axis, the meeting place of heaven and earth, the Axis Mundi where “Communication from lower realms may ascend to higher ones and blessings from higher realms may descend to lower ones and be disseminated to all” * . Powerful real estate! When Pluto crossed the Galactic Center in late 2006-2008, it initiated profound transformative energy in consciousness, as well as on the world stage – Obama was elected and economic challenges ensued as Pluto entered 0º Capricorn in November 2008. Jupiter transited the Galactic Center along with Pluto in that cycle 12 years ago perhaps limiting more dire consequences of that experience.
Jupiter is considered the gift-giver of the zodiac. Expansive energy, great luck, opportunity, positive outcomes are the benefits of the largest planet in the zodiac when it’s active. Usually ethical judgment and moral behavior are brought to the forefront, and principles of law and idealistic values are highlighted. Also a broad worldview and inclusivity of what may be foreign or international are valued for diversity of culture and learning about the beliefs of others.
Jupiter, of course, has a negative pole including exaggeration, grandiosity, propaganda, too much of a good thing, magnifying and exacerbating whatever it’s near. But here we also have the mitigating influence of Venus leading the way a couple of degrees away at 0º Capricorn at that very point of the World Axis (where Jupiter is headed on December 2). Venus has a steadying effect on Jupiter at New Moon hoping to bring out practical, goal-oriented actions. Venus entering Capricorn holds the archetype of the wise woman, a sage woman of authority cognizant of seven generations in the future and the wisdom of seven generations from the past. Focus the New Moon on what you want to restructure in your life and just how you plan to do it.
Venus has just made her own yearly journey across the black hole of the Galactic Center November 23-25 hand in hand with Jupiter. Such an expansive blessing and reminder to uplift and expand the heart, to have faith in ourselves, to allow love and connection to all beings be the guiding force through the intense and transformational times we are living through. It’s one form of blessing to have Venus and Jupiter meet – and a great one, but a quantum leap to have them meet at the Galactic Center, the source of our starship, and be bathed in the energies to guide us on our journey of evolution.
Chiron at 1º Aries squares Venus and soon Jupiter lending aid to reveal and release where we have felt wounded in love and respect. When Venus passes over the South Node in Capricorn 8º on December 2 and Jupiter does the same on January 8, we are aligned to heal our obstacles to love, self-respect, confidence, faith, and havingness. Chiron is considered the bridge between the old way and the new as it sits right between Saturn (old) and Uranus (new) out there in the solar system. Only discovered in 1977, this centaur melds tradition with intuition. We need his participation and he is offering it.
Pallas Athena is a strong influence on the Sun and Moon in Sagittarius (just 3º away). She brings her wisdom, feminine strategic thinking, and her link to intuitive intelligence to help us bring all this high frequency energy down into our nervous systems and transmute it into our physical bodies. Your body might be grateful for some Reiki therapy, sound/toning work or a shamanic healing if your nervous system could use some integration support.
We have strong oppositions in power signs Taurus/Scorpio. It’s a situation of an ‘irresistible force meets an immovable object’. For one, Warrior Mars in Scorpio is opposite Awakener Uranus in Taurus. Now this is a volatile relationship – could be personal where you see some blow ups of issues pushed down inside for way too long or could be more externalized with revolutionary activity or eruptions on the Earth like volcanoes and earthquake movement. Eruptions, confrontations, blowups, and blasts of all kinds move energy rapidly just the way Mars and Uranus like to work.
Uranus is really pushing us on the change front. We have acceleration and evolution. Uranus is not only opposing Mars, but in a stressful relationship to the Sun and the Moon, our will and emotional security are thrown off. Uranus can promote feelings of being in exile, an outsider looking in, anxiety, ungroundedness. You might feel restless and contemplate taking a major turn. A feeling of underlying chaos is a result of our differentiating from the dominant culture and the belief systems we see playing out in government and the corporatization of our lives. We will feel more supported by Uranus after New Moon when Venus and Jupiter move into a positive earthy relationship with Uranus and we can use the out of the box thinking and liberating inspiration that it brings. We can then exalt in our unique, quirky self and enjoy the chaotic creativity available to make change happen.
Neptune is at a standstill in Pisces slowing to turn direct on November 27. We are deep in our dream-creating essence pulled out of our physical reality by this strong force. Unconscious soul level forces are strong and we are tuned to the invisible world. Dream, create, dance it through your feet, and fill your inner sanctuary with gratitude. So much compassion is needed at this time.
As you can see, we are now influenced by the presence of powerful cosmic portals inviting us to hold this new and amazing energy streaming from the center of our Milky Way through Jupiter and Venus to release the belief systems of the past anchoring us to our three dimensional reality. Open your arms wide to the Dark of the Moon and welcome in what awaits us after our lengthy surrender of the old. Take care of your body. These are the initiating phases before the long awaited meeting of Saturn and Pluto on January 12 at 22º Capricorn just days after the lunar eclipse in Cancer. January 10-13 should be a rockin’ time!

Remarks by President Trump in a Signing Ceremony for H.R. 2423,
The Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commemorative Coin Act
The Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commemorative Coin Act
Issued on: November 25, 2019
Oval Office
5:10 P.M. EST
THE PRESIDENT: Okay, thank you very much. In a few moments, I will be signing into law the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commemorative Coin Act. This new law directs the Treasury Department to issue 400,000 one-dollar silver coins in a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of women securing the right to vote. Nobody is going to take that one off. We just said — nobody. Not with these women.
We’re pleased to be joined on this special occasion by Secretary Elaine Chao, Deputy Secretary Karen Dunn Kelley, Deputy Director Margaret Weichert, Acting Deputy Secretary Kate MacGregor, Administrator Emily Murphy, and Chairman Mary Anne Carter. Thank you all very much.
Also thanks to Senator Marsha Blackburn, who has been doing an incredible job, and Representative Liz Cheney, likewise an incredible job. And actually, I just learned something, Liz. Would you say what you just told me about Wyoming?
REPRESENTATIVE CHENEY: Yes, sir, Mr. President. Wyoming was the first place on Earth where women had the right to vote. We’ve been voting 150 years in Wyoming.
THE PRESIDENT: Number one. Number one. (Applause.)
That’s pretty good, right? (Applause.)
Also with us are members of the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission: Executive Director of the Commission Anna Laymon; Treasurer of the United States Jovita Carranza; Assistant Secretary Susan Combs; President of Independent Women’s Voice Heather Higgins; President of the Heritage Foundation Kay Coles James; President of the Susan B. Anthony List Major — that’s Marjorie Dannenfelser; President of Concerned Women of America — that’s Penny Nance; Julissa Marenco from the Smithsonian; Colleen Shogan from the Library of Congress. Those are great names, I’ll tell you. (Laughter.) But they’re doing the job.
The one-dollar coins that we — will be issued under the Act will honor the vital history of the women’s suffrage movement and celebrate many of the brave heroes who fought for the right to vote, such as Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Harriet Tubman, and Ida B. Wells.
All proceeds from the sale of these coins will go to the Smithsonian’s Women’s History Initiative. My administration will always celebrate the immeasurable contributions of women to every facet of American history and life. We will fight for every day, and we will fight every night. We’ll make this happen, and we’ll continue to make it happen — this is going to be a tremendous success — to ensure opportunity, prosperity, justice, and equality for all women in the United States.
And I’m now going to sign the bill, and then I’m going to ask you, folks, some of you — whoever would like to — to say a few words, okay? Let me sign this first.
SENATOR BLACKBURN: Oh, yes. Cannot wait. Long time coming.
THE PRESIDENT: This is a big one, right? You came all the way back for this signing, right?
SENATOR BLACKBURN: I did. I did.
THE PRESIDENT: Good.
(The bill is signed.)
So who should get the first pen, Marsha? Who?
PARTICIPANT: Marsha!
PARTICIPANT: Marsha. (Laughter.)
SENATOR BLACKBURN: It’s my bill! (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: That sounds reasonable.
SENATOR BLACKBURN: Yes. (Laughs.)
THE PRESIDENT: That’s a big thing. This is a great — you’ve been working on this for years, right? (Applause.)
So — and they have. They’ve been working on this for years and years. And I’m curious, why wasn’t it done a long time ago, and also — well, I guess the answer to that is because now I’m President, and we get things done. We get a lot of things done that nobody else got done. But maybe you could say a few words, just on (inaudible).
SENATOR BLACKBURN: Oh, I’ll be happy to. This was a project that so many women have worked on. Elise Stefanik was the lead sponsor in the House. Liz Cheney helped shepherd it through the House. Kirsten Gillibrand was the lead Democrat co-sponsor in the Senate. We passed it out of the Senate with every single senator voting for it in June —
THE PRESIDENT: Wow.
SENATOR BLACKBURN: — and sent it over to the House. And then we had to work a little harder to get it through over there. But it came through with over 300 co-sponsors on the bill.
And it’s important to realize that women’s suffrage was a 72-year process. It started at Seneca Falls, New York. And then, 72 years later, in Nashville, Tennessee — August 18th, 1920 — is when the 19th Amendment was ratified. So Tennessee and New York have a strong history in this, and we’re just thrilled to have this bill.
Proceeds from this coin — the Women’s Suffrage Commission and the Smithsonian Women’s History Project — this will go into funding that process. Now, we’re doing this coin with no government expenditures because Jovita and her team are doing a great job on the sale of this coin. And then it will help fund this to make certain that all Americans realize what women have done for the cause of freedom for our nation. So thank you.
THE PRESIDENT: Oh, great job. (Applause.)
And Jovita?
MS. CARRANZA: I wanted to share with you that the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission had a very robust and very aggressive outreach program, with Senator Blackburn calling the Secretary of Treasury, Secretary Mnuchin. He got the call and I got the second call, and we made it happen with all of their support.
And this is great leadership, and we’re looking forward to having several months to position this coin to benefit a very worthy cause, the Smithsonian, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: So why wasn’t this done a long time ago — years ago?
MS. CARRANZA: Well, I think has started out with you nominating Kay Coles James this year —
THE PRESIDENT: That helped. (Laughter.)
MS. CARRANZA: — and myself as the U.S. Treasurer on the commission.
THE PRESIDENT: You know what helps.
MS. CARRANZA: And then, of course, we assem- — we assembled a wonderful team.
THE PRESIDENT: Please. Go ahead, Kay.
MS. JAMES: No, I was just going to say thank you. It has been an honor to be your representative on this commission.
But one of the things that’s most noteworthy is that we have worked together in such a bipartisan way to celebrate women’s suffrage and the right to vote in this country. And I’m sorry Barbara couldn’t be here today — Senator Mikulski. She has done such a phenomenal job.
THE PRESIDENT: That’s right.
MS. JAMES: And we have great leadership right here, in our chair and our co-chair. But it has been exciting, and we look forward to educating and celebrating with the women of America.
THE PRESIDENT: You did a fantastic job. Thank you very much.
MS. JAMES: Thank you, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: How about our chair saying something? Please.
MS. SHOGAN: Susan.
ASSISTANT SECRETARY COMBS: Well, I just want to say that this is a privilege to be your appointee, your nominee, but also to work with this great team.
And what I really like is the zest and the energy and the enthusiasm everybody showed. In fact, we just make it impossible not to support this. So you go from 100 to 300, that’s the power of a lot of women working together. So thank you, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. Great job. Really fantastic.
Lynne [sic]? Thank you. Please, come on up. Lynne [sic] Cheney.
REPRESENTATIVE CHENEY: Thank you. Appreciate it. Well, it’s an honor to be here. I think it’s really important for us to remember that all of us who are elected officials, who are women, all of us who are serving serve on the shoulders and the accomplishments of so many women who have come before us. I’m very proud in Wyoming of the strong women — my mother, my grandmothers, my great grandmothers — and just the tremendous work and effort that went into this over the years. And so it’s an honor to be here.
THE PRESIDENT: Your daughter.
REPRESENTATIVE CHENEY: Oh, my daughter.
THE PRESIDENT: She’s the strongest. (Laughter.)
REPRESENTATIVE CHENEY: Exactly. That’s right. And my daughter, Elizabeth, who’s following in our footsteps. So thank you very much, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much.
Who would like to say something?
MS. HIGGINS: Can I add something?
THE PRESIDENT: Yes, you can.
MS. HIGGINS: I think they’re under-representing Senator Blackburn and Jovita. You asked why this hadn’t gotten done before. Jovita basically took a page from the Wollman Rink in New York, and overcame an awful lot of the process and obstacles to make sure that something happened on time and in the right way.
THE PRESIDENT: That’s good.
MS. CARRANZA: Thank you.
SENATOR BLACKBURN: Yeah, she did.
THE PRESIDENT: That’s great. I’ve heard that. That’s great. Fantastic. Proud of you.
SENATOR BLACKBURN: Great work. Good teamwork.
MS. NANCE: Mr. President, I would just add that — I’m Penny Nance with Concerned Women for America. This has been just a beautiful picture of bipartisanship that I think many in Congress could take a page from. Women of every ilk were able to come together and actually get something done. So we hope Congress does that same.
THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you. Great job. Anybody? Anybody? Final — final — Kellyanne? How about Kellyanne?
MS. CONWAY: Mr. President, thank you —
THE PRESIDENT: She’s always very laidback and shy. (Laughter.)
MS. CONWAY: I’ll be laidback. Thank you. I think the women speak for itself. And thank you for your leadership. We really look forward to continuing the celebration of the Centennial of the Women’s Right to Vote. We go right up into next August of 2020. But it’s even hard to imagine it’s only been 100 years. And since we still have had — never had any female President, perhaps we’ll have that in our lifetime, but your victory kept that job open. So we’re here to celebrate —
THE PRESIDENT: In five years, right? (Laughter.) Five years.
PARTICIPANT: Or longer. (Laughter.)
MS. NANCE: Yeah, we can wait.
MS. CONWAY: That’s right. But, sir, thank you for your leadership. I think the four-letter word called “will” is the difference between what does not get done and what gets done. And the leadership and, really, some of your great team here at the White House has been working around this around the clock and has helped. Thank you, sir.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. They have been working very hard on this.
So thank you very much. This is a very important bill, and it’s an honor to be involved with it. And I’m glad we got it done. (Applause.) This administration has gotten a lot done. Thank you.

5:29 P.M. EST
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much. This is a very important signing, and we’ve had two now in a row that are very, very important and inspirational, I might add. Right? When you think of it.
Thank you all for being here today. I’m pleased to sign the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act into law. Animal cruelty. This is something that should’ve happened a long time ago and it didn’t. But the people behind me and others have been incredible, and I just want to congratulate you.
And I ask the same question I asked for another bill that we just signed: Why hasn’t it — this happened a long time ago? And I give you the same answer: because Trump wasn’t President. (Laughter.)
This commonsense legislation restricts the creation and distribution of videos or images of animal torture. It is important that we combat these heinous and sadistic acts of cruelty, which are totally unacceptable in a civilized society.
We’re pleased to be joined by some of the very important people that got this done. And they worked very, very hard on it. Representative Vern Buchanan — fantastic person. Sheriff Carolyn “Bunny” Welsh. Kitty Block, President and CEO of the Humane Society. Jack Hubbard, COO of American Humane. Rory Diamond, CEO of K9s for Warriors. Marty Irby, Executive Director of Animal Wellness Action. Laura Sellards, President and Executive Director of the Warrior Dog Foundation. Lauren [Lauree] Simmons, President and Founder of Big Dog Ranch Rescue. John Thompson, Executive Director of the National Animal Care and Control Association. Sara Amundson, President of the Humane Society Legislative Fund. Tracie Letterman, Vice President of the Humane Society Legislative Fund. Anne [Anna] Marie Malloy, Senior Legislative Specialist at the Humane Society Legislative Fund.
And these people really worked hard together with some of your friends that are in different states all over the country right now, that we were able to get this done a little bit quicker than people thought. And so they send all of their regards, and some of them are watching this right now, as we do this.
From battlefields to hospitals, from the ranches of the frontier to the backyards of America, from animals of service to animals of war, our nation’s animals have played a vital role in the development, settlement, security, and happiness of our country. So true. We had a great dog named Conan here, just a little while ago. It’s very fitting that it was on the same day, but that’s a little bit what you’re talking about. Conan was something and created quite a stir.
We have a responsibility to honor the dignity of God’s creation. With today’s act, we take the critical step toward being more responsible and humane stewards of our planet and all who we want to cherish and take care of, and all of those who live on it.
And I will now sign this very important piece of legislation. And I want to congratulate everybody here. And after I’m finished, I’d like you to have you maybe say a few words to the media, if you’d like. Okay? Thank you very much.
(The bill is signed.)
REPRESENTATIVE BUCHANA: And thank you for your leadership on animals. I can tell you this has been six years and coming — about torturing animals and cruelty to animals. But without your leadership, this wouldn’t be a reality today. So thank you very much, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you very much. Great job. Great job.
See that, Jeff?
MR. IRBY: It’s the first ever anti-cruelty statute in American history. So, you broke another record.
THE PRESIDENT: Oh, wow. That’s fantastic. (Applause.)
MR. DIAMOND: In one stroke of the pen, the President has done more to protect animals and stop animal cruelty in America than anyone in history. That’s incredible.
THE PRESIDENT: That’s really a very nicely put statement. Thank you very much.

Animal cruelty has officially become a federal felony after President Donald Trump signed the bill into law on Monday afternoon.
The bipartisan bill, Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture (PACT) Act, criminalizes certain acts of animal cruelty. The bill was passed in the Senate by unanimous decision on Nov. 5 after being approved in the House in late October.
"Passing this legislation is a major victory in the effort to stop animal cruelty and make our communities safer," Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., said earlier this month when the bill, which Toomey sponsored along with Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., passed in the Senate. "Evidence shows that the deranged individuals who harm animals often move on to committing acts of violence against people. It is appropriate that the federal government have strong animal cruelty laws and penalties."
The bill, introduced in the House by Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., and Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., is an expansion on the 2010 Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act, which made the creation and distribution of "animal crushing" videos illegal.
The underlying acts, which were not included in the 2010 bill, are part of the PACT Act.
It will make it a federal crime for "any person to intentionally engage in animal crushing if the animals or animal crushing is in, substantially affects, or uses a means or facility of, interstate or foreign commerce," according to a fact sheet of the bill.
After Senate approval, the bill was sent to the president's desk for signature.
"I’m deeply thankful for all of the advocates who helped us pass this bill, and I look forward to the Senate’s swift passage and the president’s signature," Deutch said in a statement when the House first passed the bill on Oct. 22.
The historic law was also praised by the president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States, Kitty Block, and the head of the Humane Society Legislative Fund, Sara Amundson.
"PACT makes a statement about American values. Animals are deserving of protection at the highest level," Block said in a statement. "The approval of this measure by the Congress and the president marks a new era in the codification of kindness to animals within federal law. For decades, a national anti-cruelty law was a dream for animal protectionists. Today, it is a reality."
"After decades of work to protect animals and bearing witness to some of the worst cruelty, it’s so gratifying the Congress and president unanimously agreed that it was time to close the gap in the law and make malicious animal cruelty within federal jurisdiction a felony," Amundson said. "We cannot change the horrors of what animals have endured in the past, but we can crack down on these crimes moving forward. This is a day to celebrate."

So the Zen master steps up to the hot dog cart and says: "Make me one with everything."
The hot dog vendor fixes a hot dog and hands it to the Zen master, who pays with a $20 bill.
The hot dog vendor puts the bill in the cash drawer and closes the drawer.
"Where's my change?" asks the Zen master.

A new monk arrives at the monastery. He is assigned to help the other monks in copying the old texts by hand. He notices, however, that they are copying copies, not the original books. So, the new monk goes to the head monk to ask him about this. He points out that if there were an error in the first copy, that error would be continued in all of the other copies.
The head monk says "We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son." So, he goes down into the cellar with one of the copies to check it against the original.
Hours later, nobody has seen him. So, one of the monks goes downstairs to look for him. He hears a sobbing coming from the back of the cellar, and finds the old monk leaning over one of the original books and crying. He asks what's wrong. "The word is 'celebrate'," says the old monk.

Three monks decided to practise meditation together. they sat by the side of a lake and closed their eyes in concentration. Then suddenly, the first one stood up and said, "I forgot my mat." He steeped miraculously onto the water in front of him and walked across the lake to their hut on the other side.
When he returned, the second monk stood up and said, "I forgot to put my other underwear to dry." He too walked calmly across the water and returned the same way. The third monk watched the first two carefully in what he decided must be the test of his own abilities. "Is your learning so superior to mine? I too can match any feat you two can perform," he declared loudly and rushed to the water's edge to walk across it. He promptly fell into the deep water.
Undeterred, the wet monk climbed out of the water and tried again, only to sink into the water. Yet again he climbed out and yet again he tried, each time sinking into the water. This went on for some time as the other two monks watched.
After a while, the second monk turned to the first and said, "Do you think we should tell him where the stones are?"

Four monks were meditating in a monastery. All of a sudden the prayer flag on the roof started flapping.
The younger monk came out of his meditation and said: "Flag is flapping"
A more experienced monk said: "Wind is flapping"
A third monk who had been there for more than 20 years said: "Mind is flapping."
The fourth monk who was the eldest said: "Mouths are flapping!"
HUMOR: Zen Words of Wisdom...😄
Zen Words of Wisdom...
Be here now. Be someplace else later. Is that so complicated?
Drink tea and nourish life. With the first sip... joy. With the second... satisfaction. With the third... peace. With the fourth... a danish.
Wherever you go, there you are. Your luggage is another story.
Breathe in. Breathe out. Breathe in. Breathe out. Forget this and attaining Enlightenment will be the least of your problems.

A student goes to the Zen Master:
"Master, what happens when you die?"
Master: "I do not know."
Student: "But you are a Zen Master!"
Master "Yes, but I am not a dead Zen Master."

Hyakujo, the Chinese Zen master, used to labor with his pupils even at the age of eighty, trimming the gardens, cleaning the grounds, and pruning the trees.
The pupils felt sorry to see the old teacher working so hard, but they knew he would not listen to their advice to stop, so they hid away his tools.
That day the master did not eat. The next day he did not eat, nor the next. "He may be angry because we have hidden his tools," the pupils surmised. "We had better put them back."
The day they did, the teacher worked and ate the same as before. In the evening he instructed them: "No work, no food."

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?
[source: Space and Motion]
Plato: For the greater good.
Machiavelli: So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road, but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend with such a paragon of avian virtue? In such a manner is the princely chicken's dominion maintained.
Jacques Derrida: Any number of contending discourses may be discovered within the act of the chicken crossing the road, and each interpretation is equally valid as the authorial intent can never be discerned, because structuralism is DEAD, DAMMIT, DEAD!
Timothy Leary: Because that's the only kind of trip the Establishment would let it take.
Douglas Adams: Forty-two.
Nietzsche: Because if you gaze too long across the Road, the Road gazes also across you.
Oliver North: National Security was at stake.
B.F. Skinner: Because the external influences which had pervaded its sensorium from birth had caused it to develop in such a fashion that it would tend to cross roads, even while believing these actions to be of its own free will.
Carl Jung: The confluence of events in the cultural gestalt necessitated that individual chickens cross roads at this historical juncture, and therefore synchronicitously brought such occurrences into being.
Jean-Paul Sartre: In order to act in good faith and be true to itself, the chicken found it necessary to cross the road.
Ludwig Wittgenstein: The possibility of "crossing" was encoded into the objects "chicken" and "road", and circumstances came into being which caused the actualization of this potential occurrence.
Albert Einstein: Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road crossed the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.
Aristotle: To actualize its potential.
Buddha: If you ask this question, you deny your own chicken- nature.
Salvador Dali: The Fish.
Darwin: It was the logical next step after coming down from the trees.
Emily Dickinson: Because it could not stop for death.
Epicurus: For fun.
Ralph Waldo Emerson: It didn't cross the road; it transcended it.
Johann von Goethe: The eternal hen-principle made it do it.
Ernest Hemingway: To die. In the rain.
Werner Heisenberg: We are not sure which side of the road the chicken was on, but it was moving very fast.
David Hume: Out of custom and habit.
Jack Nicholson: 'Cause it (censored) wanted to. That's the (censored) reason.
Pyrrho the Skeptic: What road?
Henry David Thoreau: To live deliberately ... and suck all the marrow out of life.
Mark Twain: The news of its crossing has been greatly exaggerated.
Zeno of Elea: To prove it could never reach the other side.
Wordsworth: To wander lonely as a cloud.
Blake: To see heaven in a wild fowl.
Dr Johnson: Sir, had you known the Chicken for as long as I have, you would not so readily enquire, but feel rather the Need to resist such a public Display of your own lamentable and incorrigible Ignorance.
Oscar Wilde: Why, indeed? One's social engagements whilst in town ought never expose one to such barbarous inconvenience - although, perhaps, if one must cross a road, one may do far worse than to cross it as the chicken in question.
Kafka: Hardly the most urgent enquiry to make of a low-grade insurance clerk who woke up that morning as a hen.
Swift: It is, of course, inevitable that such a loathsome, filth-ridden and degraded creature as Man should assume to question the actions of one in all respects his superior.
Macbeth: To have turned back were as tedious as to go o'er.
Freud: An die andere Seite zu kommen. (Much laughter)
Hamlet: That is not the question.
Donne: It crosseth for thee.
