Mel Brooks Presents: Young Frankenstein

I'm enjoying movie FRIGHT night on this Hallow's Eve! It's time for me to get the popcorn ready, order my pizza and turn off the lights. I always have to set the stage for a goosebump, hair-raising, spine-tingling night of HORROR movies! Bwahahahaha... Ahem. Nevertheless, this Mel Brooks classic has been a permanent fixture on my Halloween movie list. I always have to throw in a little bit of humor. See you later, alligators! :D ♥

Jack O'Lanterns and The Tale Of Stingy Jack. A Person Asked Me Today If I Knew How The Tradition Began. I Had No Idea. So I Looked It Up And Now I Am Sharing Info With You. :)

[source: Pumpkin Nook]

The Irish brought the tradition of carving pumpkins into Jack O'Lantern to America. But, the original Jack O'Lantern was not a pumpkin. Pumpkins did not exist in Ireland. Ancient Celtic cultures in Ireland carved turnips on All Hallow's Eve, and placed an ember in them, to ward off evil spirits.

The Tale of Stingy Jack and the Jack O' Lantern

Jack O'Lantern legend goes back hundreds of years in Irish History. Many of the stories, center round Stingy Jack. Here's the most popular story:

Stingy Jack was a miserable, old drunk who took pleasure in playing tricks on just about everyone: family, friends, his mother and even the Devil himself. One day, he tricked the Devil into climbing up an apple tree. After the Devil climbed up the tree, Stingy Jack hurriedly placed crosses around the trunk of the tree. Unable to touch a cross, the Devil was stuck in the tree. Stingy Jack made the Devil promise him not to take his soul when he died. Once the devil promised not to take his soul, Stingy Jack removed the crosses, and the Devil climbed down out of the apple tree.

Many years later, Jack died, he went to the pearly gates of Heaven and was told by Saint Peter that he was mean and cruel, and had led a miserable, worthless life on earth. Stingy Jack was not allowed to enter heaven. He then went down to Hell and the Devil. The Devil kept his promise and would not allow him to enter Hell. Now Jack was scared . He had nowhere to go, but to wander about forever in the dark Netherworld between heaven and hell. He asked the Devil how he could leave, as there was no light. The Devil tossed him an ember from the flames of Hell, to help Stingy Jack light his way. Jack had a Turnip with him. It was one of his favorite foods, and he always carried one with him. Jack hollowed out the Turnip, and placed the ember the Devil had given him, inside the turnip. From that day onward, Stingy Jack roamed the earth without a resting place, lighting his way as he went with his "Jack O'Lantern".

On all Hallow's eve, the Irish hollowed out Turnips, rutabagas, gourds, potatoes and beets. They placed a light in them to ward off evil spirits and keep Stingy Jack away. These were the original Jack O'Lanterns. In the 1800's a couple of waves of Irish immigrants came to America. The Irish immigrants quickly discovered that Pumpkins were bigger and easier to carve out. So they used pumpkins for Jack O'Lanterns.

A Little Halloween History

[source: wikipedia]

Halloween or Hallowe’en (a contraction of All Hallows’ Evening) is an annual holiday observed around the world on October 31, the night preceding All Hallows Day. Much like Day of the Dead celebrations, the holiday has ancient origins tied to seasonal change, harvest time, and festivals honoring the dead. Typical Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (also known as "guising"), attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films.

Pre-Christian influences

Historian Nicholas Rogers, exploring the origins of Halloween, notes that while "some folklorists have detected its origins in the Roman feast of Pomona, the goddess of fruits and seeds, or in the festival of the dead called Parentalia, it is more typically linked to the Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-an or sow-in)", derived from the Old Irish Samuin meaning "summer's end". Samhain was the first and by far the most important of the four quarter days in the medieval Irish and Scottish calendar and, falling on the last day of Autumn, it was a time for stock-taking and preparation for the cold winter months ahead. There was also a sense that this was the time of year when the physical and supernatural worlds were closest and magical things could happen. To ward off these spirits, the Gaels built huge, symbolically regenerative bonfires and invoked the help of the gods through animal and perhaps even human sacrifice.

Christian influences

Halloween is also thought to have been heavily influenced by the Christian holy days of All Saints' Day (also known as Hallowmas, All Hallows, and Hallowtide) and All Souls' Day. Falling on November 1st and 2nd respectively, collectively they were a time for honoring the Saints and praying for the recently departed who had yet to reach heaven. By the end of the 12th century they had become days of holy obligation across Europe and involved such traditions as ringing bells for the souls in purgatory and "souling", the custom of baking bread or soul cakes for "all crysten [christened] souls". It was traditionally believed that the souls of the departed wandered the earth until All Saints Day, and All Hallow's Eve provided one last chance for the dead to gain vengeance on their enemies before moving onto the next world. To avoid being recognised by a soul, Christians would wear masques and costumes to disguise themselves, following the lighted candles set by others to guide their travel for worship the next day. Today, this practice has been perpetuated through trick-or-treating.

In Britain the rituals of Hallowtide and Halloween came under attack during the Reformation as Protestants denounced purgatory as a "popish" doctrine incompatible with the notion of predestination. In addition the increasing popularity of Guy Fawkes Night from 1605 on saw Halloween become eclipsed in Britain with the notable exception of Scotland. There and in Ireland, they had been celebrating Samhain and Halloween since the early Middle Ages, and it is believed the Kirk took a more pragmatic approach towards Halloween, viewing it as important to the life cycle and rites of passage of local communities and thus ensuring its survival in the country.

North American almanacs of the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century give no indication that Halloween was recognized as a holiday. The Puritans of New England, for example, maintained strong opposition to the holiday and it was not until the mass Irish and Scottish immigration during the 19th century that the holiday was introduced to the continent in earnest. Initially confined to the immigrant communities during the mid-nineteenth century, it was gradually assimilated into mainstream society and by the first decade of the twentieth century it was being celebrated coast to coast by people of all social, racial and religious backgrounds.

Etymology

The word Halloween is first attested in the 16th century and represents a Scottish variant of the fuller All-Hallows-Even ("evening"), that is, the night before All Hallows Day. Although the phrase All Hallows is found in Old English (ealra hฤlgena mรฆssedรฆg, mass-day of all saints), All-Hallows-Even is itself not attested until 1556.

The Hellbound Train

The Hellbound Train
poem written by Anonymous

A Texas cowboy lay down on a barroom floor,
Having drunk so much he could drink no more;
So he fell asleep with a troubled brain
To dream that he rode on a hell-bound train.

The engine with murderous blood was damp
And was brilliantly lit with a brimstone lamp;
An imp, for fuel, was shoveling bones,
While the furnace rang with a thousand groans.

The boiler was filled with lager beer
And the devil himself was the engineer;
The passengers were a most motley crew-
Church member, atheist, Gentile, and Jew,

Rich men in broad cloth, beggars in rags,
Handsome young ladies, and withered old hags,
Yellow and black men, red, brown, and white,
All chained together-O God, what a sight!

While the train rushed on at an awful pace-
The sulphurous fumes scorched their hands and face;
Wider and wider the country grew,
As faster and faster the engine flew.
Louder and louder the thunder crashed
And brighter and brighter the lightning flashed;
Hotter and hotter the air became
Till the clothes were burned from each quivering frame.

And out of the distance there arose a yell,
"Ha, ha," said the devil, "we're nearing hell"
Then oh, how the passengers all shrieked with pain
And begged the devil to stop the train.
But he capered about and danced for glee,
And laughed and joked at their misery.
"My faithful friends, you have done the work
And the devil never can a payday shirk.

"You've bullied the weak, you've robbed the poor,
The starving brother you've turned from the door;
You've laid up gold where the canker rust,
And have given free vent to your beastly lust.
"You've justice scorned, and corruption sown,
And trampled the laws of nature down.
You have drunk, rioted, cheated, plundered, and lied,
And mocked at God in your hell-born pride.

"You have paid full fare, so I'll carry you through,
For it's only right you should have your due.
Why, the laborer always expects his hire,
So I'll land you safe in the lake of fire,

"Where your flesh will waste in the flames that roar,
And my imps torment you forevermore."
Then the cowboy awoke with an anguished cry,
His clothes wet with sweat and his hair standing high.

Then he prayed as he never had prayed till that hour
To be saved from his sin and the demon's power;
And his prayers and his vows were not in vain,
For he never rode the hell-bound train.

Do Not Whisper To The Wind ~ by Rayne Avalotus

A poem/song often told to small children by the superstitous. Though this piece is often heard most often in human Santharian villages, it is believed to have originated from stories of the Forbidden Zone in Northern Sarvonia and dark places like the Water Marshes.

Do Not Whisper To The Wind
by Rayne Avalotus

Do not whisper to the wind,
For wind winds far and deep,
Deep down into the shadow land
Where evil creatures sleep.
The echo of thy uttered word
Can wake them, make them creep!

Do not whisper to the wind,
For seething monsters hear;
The winds will carry monologues
To meet their careful ears,
And they will rise up from their tombs
To plague the world with fear.

Do not whisper to the wind
For demons know, they say,
Where rests thy sleepy, pretty head
When darkness swallows day,
And in the night they’ll come on thee
And steal thy soul away!

Do not whisper to the wind,
For evil’s waiting there
With anxious claws and open ears
Just listening to the air.
And waiting for a foolish child
To whisper unaware.

Do not whisper to the wind,
For beasts come leather skinned
With eyes aglow in sickly hue
And figures tall and thinned.
Thou may not, shall not, cannot
Ever whisper to the wind!

I AM NIBBLES!!! lol ;)

After watching these cartoons tonight and LAUGHING my heart out, I got to thinking to myself who has been the Jerry in my life? Then it came to me... Jerry represents all of the guardian angels God has sent to me both in spiritual form and human form throughout my entire life while on this planet, teaching me, guiding me, who have also protected and saved me from my own folly. This revelation has me feeling really grateful right now. Thank you to everyone who have been watching over me. I love you so very much! ♥

The seed of discouragement cannot take root in a grateful heart. What and whom are you grateful for today?

By the way, Tom would represent all the challenges, obstacles, dark forces we face in life. Watch the videos I've shared to see if you too can relate with Nibbles. You need to know with every fiber of your being that Almighty God has your back and is taking care of all of your needs. It's also very important for you to know that as a child of the Most High God, no weapon formed against you shall prosper! Hugs! :)

THE MOUSEKETEER CODE:
(Child of God code)
A Mouseketeer is Brave
A Mouseketeer is Obedient
A Mouseketeer is Courageous

UPDATE 10/25/15: I have been sharing these three videos and message for several years now. I still feel this way. After sharing my circumstances with you last Sunday, I felt a tremendous change in the atmosphere. The next morning while I was working on my desktop, my mom walked up to me with her arms wide open, a smile on her face, and for the first time said, "I just want to thank you for all that you are doing for me." and then gave me an embrace. You can only imagine the look on my face. I was stunned. But I gladly received her gesture. Right then and there, I KNEW many of you were fiercely praying for me. Because that was nothing less than a miracle. No one called my mom that early morning and my mom doesn't use the internet. I can't thank you enough for all the love and invisible support you have sent my way. ♥

Oh, and after watching these videos tonight, I feel like I have passed through the first and second video (stage). Now I'm going through video (final stage) three with victory in sight. :)

Come to Me...♥

I want to share one of my all time FAVORITE songs with you! France Joli is a Canadian singer. "Come to me" was her first single, released when she was 16 and it hit #1 on the US Disco Dance chart in 1979. On the Billboard Hot 100, it was her biggest mainstream hit, breaking the Top 20 at #15. The success of the single put her in demand for talk shows with Merv Griffin, Dinah Shore and a Bob Hope special.

I never get tired hearing this song. My spirit just loves to dance to this song. This is how God started tugging on my heart while on the dance floor at a night club. Can you hear God? God is knocking on the door of your heart. Will you invite Him in and have a little chat about life? I promise you, His presence alone will transform you from the inside out in the most profound beautiful way. I can hear you asking, "What can God give me?" Answer: Infallable LOVE, security, strength, peace, comfort, and joy, that can not be compared to anything on this earth.

Instead of imagining someone else singing this song to you or you singing this song to someone else, just try for a moment to hear God's voice singing this song to YOU. Enjoy the lyrics! ♥

Come to Me ~ by France Joli
Written and Produced by Tony Green

Come to me
When you're all alone and feeling down
Come to me
When there's nobody else around
Come to me
I'm still waiting open-armed for you
Come to me
'cause I will comfort you
When you've no one to turn to
I will be here just for you

Come to me
When your world is empty and cold
Come to me
When you need someone you want to hold
Come to me
In my arms I will keep you safe and warm
Come to me
I will shelter you from the storm
I'm not one to pretend

Why can't you understand
That I love you
And I love you
And I need you
And I want you
And I love you
And I love you
And I need you
And I want you
Come to me

(instrumental break)

I'm a lonely man
Living in a world of dreams
I've got everything
But the one thing that I really need

Come to me
I'll give you all the love you'll need
'cause I have love just for you

Come to me
When your world is empty and cold
Come to me
When you need someone you want to hold
Come to me
In my arms I will keep you safe and warm
Come to me
I will shelter you from the storm
I'm not one to pretend
Why can't you understand

That I love you
And I love you
And I need you
And I love you
Come to me
I need you
And I need you
And I want you

Psalm 23 (KJV) Memorize And Meditate (Verse by Verse) On This Prayer ♥

Pslam 23 (KJV)
[source: Biblegateway]

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever and ever. In Jesus mighty name. AMEN!

Prayer For Finances, Prosperity, and Financial Release

As many of you know, I've been under heavy spiritual attack by dark forces for quite some time now. The dark forces have been trying with all their might to leave me broke, busted, and disgusted. Unbeknownst to them though, what they were doing was drawing me ever closer to God. I was wanting and needing to be in God's presence daily as my only lifeline. I was pushed to rely on God for my every need. One night, a few months ago, in deep meditation, I was spiritually guided to these prayers. I can attest to the power of these prayers, clearly seeing a dramatic change within a week. My financial situation continued to improve as the weeks went on. What I did was copied and pasted these prayers in a Word document. Then I printed them out so that the prayers would be accessible anytime I needed them. I read this prayer out loud as I started my day every morning, and I would read it again out loud at night before going to bed. You need to know with all of your heart that Father God is your Source, Father God is your Provider, Father God will never leave you, nor forsake you.

I wrote the following message three weeks ago when I shared other powerful prayer videos with you:

She shares this prayer in the description of this video. I have copied and pasted into a Word document and printed it so that I could read it out loud in my home when I need it. Lately, it has been in the morning and before I go to bed. When I was first led to these videos, I would listen to her pray on my behalf when I was feeling weak in the spirit. She prays in tongues and I let her powerful words permeate my environment. I would say, "Father God, I come in agreement with this mighty anointed woman of God who is praying on my behalf." When you are praying on your own, always end your declaration with, in the name of Jesus, or start with through the blood of Jesus, or start and end with both. I felt a great oppressive spiritual weight lifted off of me within a week. Which came as a great relief. But then weeks later the spiritual attacks came at me like a swarm of locust descending upon me every which way imaginable. I would grab these prayers that I have printed, and I would read them with tears in my eyes. I would keep pushing through, and by the third prayer, my eyes would start to dry up and I would feel stronger in the spirit. You must stay strong, vigilant in the Lord, and know that God is with you, God will give you strength, and God will always have the last word. Sending you lot's of love and I'm giving you a great big hug. ♥

God wants His children to be prosperous. He tells us in His word that He wants us to prosper.

Deuteronomy 5:33
Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy.

Psalm 128:2
You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be!

Ezekiel 36:11
I will increase not only the people, but also your animals. O mountains of Israel, I will bring people to live on you once again. I will make you even more prosperous than you were before. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

Proverbs 22:10
The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

Psalm 112:3
Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

Proverbs 3:9-10
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.

Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Matthew 6:24
No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Our heavenly Father does not object to His children having money; it is the love of money that is the problem. When having money becomes more important than Him, when becoming rich and successful becomes our God, this is when having more than enough is sinful.

Being prosperous is not about buying the most expensive items the world tells us we cannot live without. God wants His people, His children, to love and care for each other. Being prosperous is about helping those in need; helping the poor with food and clothing; providing the homeless with food and shelter; getting the Word, God's Good News, out to those who are oppressed. Being prosperous, having an abundance of resources, having more than enough is about helping and providing for God's children.

THIS IS THE PRAYER BELOW

Prayer for Financial Breakthrough

Father God, Your Word declares that You take pleasure in the prosperity of Your servants, those who favor Your righteous cause (Psalm 35:27). You promised that if I gave my attention to what You are doing right now, You would take care of whatever difficulties and needs I would face (Matthew 6:33).

Because I have made Your cause my cause, and because I have made Your House my house, I thank You that the windows of heaven are being opened to me, and that You are protecting me from every assault of the enemy (Malachi 3:8-12). Because I give freely to You from the first of my income, it shall be given to me from every side and from every source (Luke 6:38; Proverbs 3:9-10).

Because You have given me the ability to create wealth (Deut 8:18), and I have purposed in my heart not to give sparingly or begrudgingly, but faithfully, generously and with a cheerful heart, You will not abandon me in my time of need. All grace will come into my life, so that in every situation I will have more than I need, with resources left over to be a blessing to others (2 Cor 9:6-9).

Because I have been faithful in this small thing of living to give, You will make me faithful over much and give to me stewardship of the true riches of life (Luke 16:10-12). No beneficial thing will You withhold from me (Psalm 84:11). In my house will be wealth and riches (Psalm 112:3), and in that day of prosperity I will rejoice and remember Your goodness (Eccles 7:14).

You are El Shaddai, God Almighty, the All-Sufficient One, the God of plenty. You are the Source of “more than enough” (Genesis 17:1). Father, You always exceed the needs I have. You are my Shepherd, I shall not want (Psalm 23:1). You are Jehovah-Jireh, the One who goes before and You will make a way when there is no way, and in the midst of every need I will find provision (Genesis 22:14).

I will not forget to bless Your Name, neither will I neglect Your Word to continue to give, for You have given me what I have to introduce the world to You and to support the expansion of Your Kingdom (Deut 8:10-11, 18). I have learned the secret of true contentment in life for I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me, and supplies my every need according to His riches in heaven (Phil 4:12-13, 19). I am living under an open heaven (Malachi 3:10).

The Lord is my Shepherd. He prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies. He anoints my head with oil. My cup runs over with blessings! Money comes to me right now. God is opening the windows of heaven for me. He meets my every need according to His riches in glory by Jesus Christ. He is causing men to give unto me good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. God has given me the power to get wealth. I am redeemed by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am redeemed from the curse of the law. I’m blessed in the field. I am blessed going in and going out. I’m blessed with faithful Abraham. I have the favor of God. Money comes to me right now. My prosperity is paid for. Money comes to me right now.

Pray Deuteronomy 28

You may also pray Deuteronomy 28, which I have personalized for you:

“Now it shall come to pass, if I diligently obey the voice of the LORD my God, to observe carefully all His commandments which He commands me today, that the LORD my God will set me high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon me and overtake me, because I obey the voice of the LORD my God: “Blessed shall I be in the city, and blessed shall I be in the country. “Blessed shall be the fruit of my body, the produce of my ground and the increase of my herds, the increase of my cattle and the offspring of my flocks. “Blessed shall be my basket and my kneading bowl. “Blessed shall I be when I come in, and blessed shall I be when I go out. “The LORD will cause my enemies who rise against me to be defeated before my face; they shall come out against me one way and flee before me seven ways. “The LORD will command the blessing on me in my storehouses and in all to which I set my hand, and He will bless me in the land which the LORD my God is giving me. “The LORD will establish me as a holy people to Himself, just as He has sworn to me, if I keep the commandments of the LORD my God and walk in His ways. Then all peoples of the earth shall see that I am called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of me. And the LORD will grant me plenty of goods, in the fruit of my body, in the increase of my livestock, and in the produce of my ground, in the land of which the LORD swore to my fathers to give me. The LORD will open to me His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to my land in its season, and to bless all the work of my hand. I shall lend to many nations, but I shall not borrow. And the LORD will make me the head and not the tail; I shall be above only, and not be beneath, if I heed the commandments of the LORD my God, which He commands me today, and am careful to observe them. So I shall not turn aside from any of the words which the Lord commands me this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Mediate on God's Word

You can stand on the Word of God and pray the following scriptures.
I always start with, "for it is written in_ chapter_ verse_". [emphasis mine]
Deuteronomy 8:18
And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

Luke 6:38
"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."

Malachi 3:10
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!"

Philippians 4:19
"And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 23:5
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings."

Look for the Hidden Good and 3 Other Ways to React to Problems. Why a Positive Mental Attitude is Indispensable to Your Success.

written by Brian Tracy

It is not what happens to you that counts. It is how you react to what happens to you—especially when there are unexpected problems.

Here are four things you can do to assure that your attitude is the very best it can be, no matter what the circumstance:

1. Focus on the future.

Whatever challenges you face, focus on the future rather than on the past. Instead of worrying about who did what and who is to blame, focus on where you want to be and what you want to do. Get a clear mental image of your ideal successful future, and then take whatever action you can to begin moving in that direction. Get your mind, your thoughts and your mental images on the future.

2. Think about the solution.

Whenever you’re faced with a difficulty, focus on the solution rather than on the problem. Think and talk about the ideal solution to the obstacle or setback, rather than wasting time rehashing and reflecting on the problem. Solutions are inherently positive, whereas problems are inherently negative.

Take some time to write out every detail of the problem, and then take the most logical next step to solve it. The instant that you begin thinking in terms of solutions, you become a positive and constructive human being.

3. Look for the good.

Assume that something good is hidden within each difficulty or challenge. Norman Vincent Peale, a major proponent of positive thinking, once said, “Whenever God wants to give us a gift, he wraps it up in a problem.” The bigger the gift you have coming, the bigger the problem you will receive. But the wonderful thing is that if you look for the gift, you will always find it.

4. Seek the lesson.

Assume that whatever situation you are facing at the moment is exactly the right situation you need to ultimately be successful. This situation has been sent to you to help you learn something, to help you become better, to help you expand and grow.

So seek for the valuable lesson in every adversity. Make a list of every idea or insight you can gain from every setback or difficulty.

A positive mental attitude is indispensable to your success. You can be as positive as you want to be if you will simply think about the future and look for the good. If you do what other successful people do, if you use your mind to exert mental control over the situation, you will be positive and cheerful most of the time. And you will reap the benefits enjoyed by all successful people.

Learn How To Encourage Yourself For The Life You Choose. Get Past Your Barriers And Reach All Of Your Goals.

To Get Past Your Barriers & Reach All Of Your Goals
written by William Defoore
[source: GoodFinding.com]

Why encourage yourself? Because, as you know, life can be very difficult at times. By learning and practicing these and other Goodfinding skills, you can literally become a friend, coach and ally to yourself.

Then, everywhere you go, you have a good friend with you! This is just good, practical sense. The whole idea of being your own worst enemy doesn't make any sense at all.

Here are the three categories of self encouragement that we're going to cover:
  1. Positive self talk
  2. Uplifting videos
  3. Encouraging quotes
You have a fabulous resource for happiness and well being, right here at your fingertips...well, actually, it's inside you.

Use these tools, master these skills, and they will serve you well for the rest of your life. The more you use them, the better they will work for you.

Here are some of the benefits you will gain from regularly offering encouragement to yourself:
  • More success in reaching your (personal and professional) goals. You know how easy those great ideas come along? And you know how much work it is to implement them and see them through? When you learn to encourage yourself, you'll get all the way to completion.
  • More health and happiness will come naturally, when you become your own coach and ally and begin to encourage yourself. When you can give yourself a pep talk to get through the disappointment, setbacks, and/or illnesses that come along, you're way ahead of the game.
  • More fulfilling relationships will be a natural consequence. When you're a good friend to yourself, it will be much easier for others to be a good friend to you. You will ask less of others, and you will have more to offer...just what everybody wants!
Now let's get started on the skills you need to make this happen. Keep in mind that this entire web site will also help you in the above areas.

First, watch this great video, in which Jessica shows you how to do positive self talk...

Encourage Yourself With Positive Self Talk

You're talking to yourself all of the time, whether you know it or not...so why not make it useful? Normal self talk is unconscious, driven too often by fear and anxiety about tasks and problems.

That kind of self talk can too easily drift into a kind of "inner critic," that too easily becomes that classic "worst enemy" that you have heard about (and maybe heard in our own head). You don't have to put up with that.

Let's look at how to develop positive self talk that really works for you:

First person, positive statements to yourself -- repeat these statements to yourself on a regular, ongoing basis, and add your own statements to personalize your self talk.
"I can do this. I've got what it takes to overcome these obstacles and reach my goals."
"Today I choose to organize my thoughts and actions, moving step by step into exactly the kind of day I want to have."
"I know in my heart that I am a good person. I choose to exercise and eat healthy today, as a gift to the good person I am."
"I choose to focus on what is good, right and working today, to keep my energy up and my enthusiasm intact."
"I choose to be relaxed, focused and flexible as I move from task to task today. My primary purpose is to feel good while I create the life I want for myself."
These are just some ideas to work with. You'll find a lot more of these kinds of statements on our encouragement words page. Now let's look at a variation of this approach:

Second person positive statements to encourage yourself. This is just another angle for your positive self talk, where you're making "you statements" instead of "I statements." This uses different brain functions and connects with different emotions, helping you to get a broader range of benefit.
"You are a wise, kind person. Deep inside, you know this. You want what is best for you and all concerned, and you're getting better all of the time at making good things happen for everyone."
"You love to smile and laugh. You know how it feels when you're having a good time and enjoying what you're doing, and you want more of that."
"The more fun you're having, the better the quality of work you produce. You are meant to be a joyful, exuberant person, and you're becoming more like that every day."
"Your dreams, your passions matter. You were born to bring your gifts to this world, and that's how you will do your best work and have the most fun."
"You matter. Your smile matters. Look at the people around you and smile and say hello. They need to know they matter too."
Use these statements, and create your own to meet your own personal, specific needs. The key is practice, practice, practice.

The old habitual self talk patterns are well established, and they won't go away quickly. However, with steady repetition, the positive self talk will take over...because it's more true, powerful and healthy than the negative self talk.

Here is a step by step process to use to encourage yourself:

Tools For Creating Positive Self Talk Habits

This is a tried-and-true approach that will work if you use it. Like any tools, however, they are worthless unless you use them.

And the more you use them, the more skilled you become, and the better the tools work for you.

Here are the steps:
  1. Start a journal (of any kind) and keep your list of positive self statements in that one place, so you always know where to find them. Your "notes" app in your phone or tablet work great for this, or any notes function in the cloud where you can access it anywhere, from all your devices.
  2. Read through them at the beginning of each day, either repeating them out loud or in your head. Take it slowly, and read each statement as if you really meant it, and knew beyond the shadow of a doubt that it was true.
  3. Pick one thought or phrase from your list, and make it your "thought for the day." Put it in a prominate place, send yourself an email with the phrase in the subject line, or send it to yourself in a text or a voice mail. Set a reminder in your phone, tablet or computer, so that you remember to think about your positive self talk phrase during the day.
  4. Monitor what you say out loud to others, and slowly stop using any negative statements about yourself. Gradually, and tastefully, you can start getting into the habit of making positive statements to others as well. This will make it much easier to keep your positive self talk going.
It is helpful to write longhand in a journal, as well as keeping these notes in an electronic device. The longhand writing uses more of a right brain process, and connects more easily with your emotions.

The main thing is to do it. And keep doing it until it becomes habit...and then keep doing it. You will need self encouragement all of your life, to get you through each challenge you face, and to help you realize your dreams.

The Courage of a Flower Compared to the HUMAN SPIRIT... ♥ I Have to Share this Lovely Awe-Inspiring Osho Zen Tarot Card Description With You! ♥

“Cause and effect, means and ends, seed and fruit cannot be severed; for the effect already blooms in the cause, the end preexists in the means, the fruit in the seed”
~by Ralph Waldo Emerson
Courage

The seed cannot know what is going to happen, the seed has never known the flower. And the seed cannot even believe that he has the potentiality to become a beautiful flower. Long is the journey, and it is always safer not to go on that journey because unknown is the path, nothing is guaranteed.

Nothing can be guaranteed. Thousand and one are the hazards of the journey, many are the pitfalls - and the seed is secure, hidden inside a hard core. But the seed tries, it makes an effort; it drops the hard shell which is its security, it starts moving. Immediately the fight starts: the struggle with the soil, with the stones, with the rocks. And the seed was very hard and the sprout will be very, very soft and dangers will be many.

There was no danger for the seed, the seed could have survived for millennia, but for the sprout many are the dangers. But the sprout starts towards the unknown, towards the sun, towards the source of light, not knowing where, not knowing why. Great is the cross to be carried, but a dream possesses the seed and the seed moves.

The same is the path for man. It is arduous. Much courage will be needed.

This card shows a small wildflower that has met the challenge of the rocks and stones in its path to emerge into the light of day. Surrounded by an aura of bright golden light, it exposes the majesty of its tiny self. Unashamed, it is equal to the brightest sun.

When we are faced with a very difficult situation we have a choice: we can either be resentful, and try to find somebody or something to blame for the hardships, or we can face the challenge and grow.

The flower shows us the way, as its passion for life leads it out of the darkness and into the light. There is no point fighting against the challenges of life, or trying to avoid or deny them. They are there, and if the seed is to become the flower we must go through them. Be courageous enough to grow into the flower you are meant to be.

"Live, Laugh, Love" A Poem By Jill Eisnaugle ~ May This Poem Touch Your Heart And Inspire You To Embrace Life With Childlike Innocence And Joy!

Live, Laugh, Love
By Jill Eisnaugle

May every dream be yours to keep
May every joy be near
May every hour without sleep
Be one of warmth and cheer
May every beat within your heart
Be blessed with much to give
So, your path is a work of art
Each day that you shall live.

May every smile upon your face
And every childish grin
Be filled with memories to embrace
As if you’re young again
May each sunrise bring cause to view
Life’s humor for its pleasure
So, each path you choose to pursue
Yields laughter beyond measure.

May every vision in your eyes
Be for those you hold dear
May you know only brilliant skies
Where shooting stars appear
And with each shooting star, I pray
Your hopes are heard, above
So, every path to come your way
Is paved in lasting love.

What Is Success? A Poem By Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is Success?
by Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and love much;
to win the respect of intelligent persons
and the affection of children;
to earn the approbation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to give of one's self;
to leave the world a bit better;
whether by a healthy child;
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
to have played and laughed with enthusiasm
and sung with exultation;
to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived -
this is to have succeeded.

The Meaning Of Success...

This picture has nothing to do with this message. I just love this whimsical walkway and wanted to make you smile. :)

Many many years ago in my early 20's as I was climbing the corporate ladder I came across this poem at a gift shop. I was experiencing growing pains at the time in every area of my life. I bought it and have had it hanging on my refrigerator ever since. I still have it memorized. ♥

This poem has served as my guide to always keep me in-line and to not lose sight that "Success is a journey, NOT a destination". I hope this poem inspires you too! :)

Success. . .

written by Larry S. Chengges

Success is doing the best you can,
in as many ways as you can.
It is being just and honest and true-
not in a few things, but in everything you do.

Always look ahead and never look back,
believe you can make all your dreams come true.
Always believe in the best you can be
and have faith in the things that you do.

Forget about mistakes you've made yesterday,
the lessons you learn will prove valuable for today...
Never give up and think that you're through...
for there's always tomorrow and a chance to begin brand new.

It is in dreaming the greatest dreams...
and seeking the highest goals...
that we build the brightest tomorrows.

There is no limit to the goals you can attain,
or the success you can achieve...
your possibilities are as endless as your dreams.

Whatever it is that you seek in life,
whatever your dreams and what you hope to achieve,
whatever you try to reach - whatever you plan...
can ALL be yours - if you only believe YOU CAN!

Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
Good mornin' to you.
Good mornin', good mornin'!
It's great to stay up late,
Good mornin', good mornin' to you.

When the band began to play
The sun was shinin' bright.
Don:
Now the milkman's on his way,
It's too late to say goodnight.
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
So, good mornin', good mornin'!
Sunbeams will soon smile through,
Good mornin', good mornin', to you,
Kathy:
And you, and you, and you!
Good morning,
Good morning,
We've gabbed the whole night through.
Good morning, good morning to you.
Don & Cosmo:
Nothin' could be grander than to be in Louisiana
Kathy, Don & Cosmo:
In the morning,
In the morning,
It's great to stay up late!
Good mornin',

Don & Cosmo:
It might be just a zippy
If you was in Mississipi!

When we left the movie show
The future wasn't bright
But tame is gone
The show goes on
And I don't wanna say good night
