Deflate the Rubber Duck. It’s time to toss a ball of wool and frolic with the Pink Kitten, the latest creation from Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman.

Mr. Hofman’s adorable Rubber Duck, it shall be recalled, triggered near-on mass hysteria all over Asia as versions of the six-story yellow aquatic bird made appearances around the region—including in Hong Kong, where it attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Now Rubber Duck has a rival in Pink Kitten, a 10-meter sculpture made from interwoven bamboo that depicts, well, a cute pink mini-cat doing what appears to be a little dance.

The sculpture made its global debut on Friday in Shanghai as part of a design art show sponsored by General Motors Co.’s Cadillac brand.

Dubbed “All for Dramatic” the exhibit also features nine concept, classic and current Cadillac models that have been paired with art works from local and foreign artists. Two classic models of the Cadillac Eldorado—an icon among celebrities such as Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe—is exhibited alongside Shanghai-born electronic artist Lou Nanli’s “Diamond Heart.”

The exhibit runs through mid-June at Shanghai’s Century Park in the Pudong area of the city.
