I've Been Smoke-Free For One Year. 😊

Hi everybody, I wasn't going to say anything until I knew this habit, this stronghold in my life was completely behind me. Well it is. I was actually totally oblivious to the fact that I've been smoke-free for 1-year as of January 3rd. That was a major accomplishment for me in 2016. I do want to share that two weeks prior to quitting, I was chain smoking and drinking alcohol as if the end of the world was coming. But actually, it was the Holy Spirit that put those two bad habits on notice. Those two bad habits knew they were going to die. It was the end of the world for them. It was a real trippy experience to be the observer in this situation, and watching God's Supernatural intervention. And on January 3, 2016, I woke up and said, "I am done." Then the Holy Spirit laid me back down to sleep for 4 days to detox. I only woke up to drink water, lots of it. I reeked of rot for the weeks that followed. It was disgusting, but necessary to get rid of all the yuckiness inside of me. I had to quit drinking alcohol and coffee because they were hard triggers. I went back to drinking coffee after a week, and just forced myself to enjoy the coffee without the cigarette. I was able to drink alcohol without needing a cigarette after a month without a problem. I hung out with some friends who were chain smoking in front of me while enjoying happy hour with them. I had no desire to smoke within a month. To this day I can actually hang around people who smoke in front of me with no problem, and no judgement because I've been there before and I totally understand. I have no regrets. I did love to smoke my cigarettes. But this chapter of my life story has now ended, and it's time for me to move on to the next chapter of my life.

Also, I, without any thought or effort, suddenly stopped chewing my fingernails in August of 2016. My nails started growing like weeds and I had to teach myself how to groom them lol. That was another bad habit that I had since my childhood broken in 2016. 😊

I went back and pulled all of my tweet messages the first month I quit smoking to share this experience with you. Anything is possible. That's not just a saying, it's the truth. Make a decision this year to make a major change in your life. Ask God, your Higher Power, to help you break a stronghold in your life. A stronghold is something that has total control over you. Pray about it. Set yourself free once and for all. I want to encourage you, if I can do this, you can too. I'm sending you lots of LOVE, and I'm giving you a great BIG hug. πŸ’ž
